Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Saturday June 28

Morning Maniacs -

Today is my recovery day on WSFL. I opted for the low intensity cardio session. I did Prevention Walk Yourself Fit while listening to my own music, Fuel's Sunburn CD. I did part of it on the Rebounder. Kept my HR in the 50-60% of max range as suggested and only drifted up to 69% a few times. Total cardio was 49" with cool down and I burned 312 calories.

I also tried 10 minutes of a ballet DVD I have (it was waaaaaaaaayy to easy) and then I did Yoga to Go - Zuma Beach 30". Not nearly enough yoga for this stiff body, but I have to be over Mom's early this morning, as she's going to help me put my perfume oil sample packs together for selling. We are also going to the Dollar Theatre to see a "second run" movie.

RE: Work and my coworkers....they never leave their desks to eat. I think they are "money hungry" for Overtime or something. Weird....cuz I was told not to go over 40 hours.....but they do. I don't care any way. I had to sit thru them eating french fries with vinegar yesterday, pizza the day before, milkshakes, frosty's, Peanut M&M's, chocolate cake, etc. I guess I'll just have to "suck it up" and get used to being tempted. Even stranger, the really overweight one is actually trying to lose weight by cutting back a bit (still eats a lot of garbage), but she's already lost 8 pounds........and then there's lil' ol' me with the scale that won't budge who exercises like a freako! I'm also 20 years older than her and a lot lighter than her too...I guess. I tracked my calories in my food journal yesterday and counted about 1890 calories. I'll have to look at a website to see what I should be eating....but I'm on a phone line computer modem and my computer is super slow....so not sure if I'll have the patience to try a website or not.

Have great workouts or rest days everyone. I hope to fit in some yoga later....but usually I get too busy to fit anything in later in the day.

Have great workouts everyone.

I haven't started my workout yet this morning. Saturdays are my slow days:D Today will be a total body workout and cardio. Maybe Circuits. I have not planned ahead. I need to get my next rotation together. We have a lot of thunder so expecting a storm to hit.

Lora, I bet you are in way better shape than those people that are sucking down the garbage! You know they will be experiencing health problems later for eating that type of diet too. Look at it that way when you see them eating that stuff and maybe it will help when you are resisting:) I have been eating around 2100 calories a lot lately. My weight is still remaining at 112. I used to have a program that let me figure my base calories minus exercise that figured daily routine activities and it had me at 1400 on a no workout day. Not sure if that helps you out any. Enjoy your time with your Mom:D

Had another puke status workout this morning. I'm actually starting to like leg work again. Weird.

1:30 minutes rest between each superset

LEGS/SHOULDERS
SS #1
Leg Press Station:
170# - 10
180# - 10/10/10
superset w/
Arnold Press:
25's - 8/8/8/8
***Love this superset. Felt really strong until the last set. Legs were shaking when I did the last set of Arnold Presses.

SS #2
Static Lunges:
85# - 10/10/10/10/10
superset w/
Lateral Raise:
20's - 10/10/10/10
***Note to self: Don't do shoulder work after a heavy bar has been on your shoulders. With the second set when I was doing lateral raises I felt a pull right in the center of my upper back. It subsided and I'm ok now, but it scared me. Of course, I kept going.

SS #3
Hamstring Curls:
60# -10/10/10/10
superset w/
Hammer Curl Grip Front Raises:
15's - 8/8/8/8
***Hamstring curls got me good. I don't care for front raises but got a great burn doing them.

SS #4
CALVES & ABS
No rest
Leg Press Machine Calf Raises:
180# - Forward 18
180# - Inward 20
180# - Outward 20
superset w/
Woodchops: 15# - 30
Leg Lifts on Power Tower: I did alternating knee lifts and straight legs lifts. Did 8 sets of these.
1 Minute plank
***Was going to do shrugs but the weird pain in my upper back made me decide not too. Plus I wanted to do ab work. Not usre I accomplished much with this particular superset but it was fun. No rest with this, I just kept going.

That is all...

Plans changed for today. I'm taking my mom to lunch, though! :)

Lora - I LOVE the song Hero! Thanks for telling me about it.

Have a great day everyone

Great workout Debbie - I am impressed - I did curls yesterday with 20 Dumbbells and I am sore! I am also sore from the dip station.

Lora - keep in mind that people who have a good bit of weight to loose will drop it quickly. Since you are in good shape and do not have much to loose, it is harder.

Today I did cardio for the firs time since since this sinus episode. I ran the neighborhood hills - and it was tough. My HR got above 180 and I had to stop and walk a couple of time.

work time - 56 minutes
not sure about time in zone - because of the hills - my HR stayed in the 160 to 180 range almost the entire time.
burned 466 calories!!!! YAY!!!!

I also tried making healthy pancakes. My husband brought home blueberries from Costco and wanted blueberry pancakes. I added oats and BSN vanilla cream to the recipe and omitted the sugar. They turned out good and he really like them.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I just returned from a ride out of town. Didn't have time to post my workout this morning. I started my workout with Amy Bento's Hi/Lo KO Interval premix stopping at the abs, 27 minutes, then I did Amy's Kickbox Extreme Bonus bag work 2 times for 12 minutes of heavy bag work, I went on to do her Hi/Lo Dome dome workout stopping at the stretch (23 min) then went on to do Tracey Staehle's Parts dvd Strictly upper body (no w/up) repeating back and biceps and finishing out the workout through the stretch and adding on the yoga segment for a 1 hr 2 minute workout. Total workout time was 2 hr 16 minutes and calories burned was 811. I did not do that much in the way of cardio today so felt it was a good calorie burn.

Debbie, you hit some really good weights today. Hope lunch was fun.

Ally, great calorie burn for just getting back into cardio:)
