Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Saturday April 5

Cathlete
Morning Maniacs -

I have a dental appt this morning so I had to cut my workout short. I did Leslie's 3 Mile Walk for 39 minutes and burned 326 calories. I used my Rebounder for parts of it and did part on the floor and held hand weights. I also did Dharma Yoga for Stress Relief 20".

Have great workouts or rest days everyone and enjoy the weekend.

Good Morning:)
Lora I hate the dentist! I would rather go to my gyno appts. I know that's gross but i wouldx( Great workout I need to start doing Yoga, does it really help stress? Never have done it!
How much money do you'll plan on spending for the STS program. I can't spend any money on the pull up bar squat rack, weighted vest:( I'm broke right now. I will definitly have to get platemates. My heaviest dumbells go from 25's to 40's I need somthing in between:) But I do have enough heavy plates for my barbell. Or how many of you are getting the series?
Today is my rest day Yahoo!!
Randi

Randi - I don't have money to buy any additional equpment. I'd love that Walmart bench with a sqat rack. Also would like the pull-up bar contraption...but no money again....plus I have a bar in do chin ups using the chair for assistance....but I'd rather do them the way they show in the Blog for intermediates....but I'll have to try draping my bodybar across two chairs and doing them like Amy Bento does in her DVD.

Yes, I think yoga helps with stress reiief. They are rejuventating.

Gotta get ready to lave for the dentist.

ETA: We have a squat rack in the basement that I might be able to use...but my DH works out down there and there is only really room for one person to work out at a time down there. He also has an olympic sized bar and weights down there I could use ...but I'd rather have the stuff set up upstairs. I have up to 30 lb DBs upstairs with Platemates. I might need additional weight plates though for my barbell.

MY LEG PRESS IS HERE!!!

Woo hoo!!!! My dh and I set it up yesterday and I can't wait to try it out on Friday! I'm so excited! IT is SAWEET!!!!

Today starts my second week of this rotation. Did the same workout as last week. Had an excellent workout!

1:30 min. rest between each set

CHEST
Incline Barbell Press:
65# - 15 (warmup)
105# - 8/8/7/7
***Instead of doing different weights like I did last week I kept it the same this week and just tried to work it the best I could.

Flat Barbell Press:
110# - 7/6
105# - 8/7
***Shoulders started feeling strained so I lowered the weight a bit. 5# makes a huge difference.

Weighted Pushups:
20# - 10/10/9/9
***Last week I did 9/9/8/8. These felt awesome.

TRICEPS
Close Grip Barbell Press:
90# - 8/7/7/6
***This called for a warmup set but I was pretty sure my tri's were warm. I think the first exercises in this rotation calls for warmups because the men probably split the workout into two.

Lying Triceps Barbell Extentions:
55# - 8/8/7
***This was an excellent weight. Really was able to work the full range of motion.

ABS:
Body Max 2 ab work

That is all...

Good Morning, I had a doctor appointment this morning for my allergies. She sent me home with some cough medicine and sinulair. She says she has doubts on the news stories unless there is more evidence than they have. I started my workout this morning with Sharon Twombly's Athletic Step Jam doing the w/up "jams" 1,2,&3, and c/d then stretch. When I came home I did the ball segment and abs of Athletic Step Jam and then Amy's Hi/Lo KO ab segment. I finished with Yoga Booty Ballet Yoga Core. All of these titles are so long. I hate abbreviating to much because some would not know what I was talking about.

Debbie, you are going to enjoy that leg press machine:)

Randi, I ordered the STS series. We do have a 20# weighted Golds Gym vest here. I got it at Walmart and it was pretty reasonable. I think I will wait till I get the series and see what I think is necessary. I do have my Bowflex for some things and I have a vertical knee raise tower but I don't have a pull up bar. I put a bar across the vkr tower and do pull ups sort of like Amy Bento does that Lora described or I have to bend my knees behind me to keep my feet off the floor.

Hey ladies, gotta be a rest day today. Although, I have been ripping my house apart all day. Burning garbage (burnable garbage), going to recycling, cleaning cleaning cleaning. My house looks so nice. I have loved this day! GOt up with the boys, had a good time with them helping me do stuff, got to see Wayne for a few minutes....just a great day. Now I gotta get ready for work. I hope tomorrow is a great day too. If it is nice out, I am going for a run. Been itching to get out and just run and leave my stresses behind!
Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful day.
No P90x yet, so hopefully Monday!

Hey Maniacs!!!

Sounds like everyone is having a good day! I AM DOWN TO 118 NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK GOD! I feel better now. Just one more pound to go. Last night I had a dream I was eating mash potatoes and gravy..OH, MY!!!

Today is my leg workout. Cannot wait. I also have ab work to do. I am not gonna get on elliptical today cuz I usually have killer leg workouts anyhow. Still gonna do cardio with weight work, but on alternate days now and keep my eating real like I use to.

My EATS so far:

Meal 1: 3 eggs with slice of cheese mixed in. Yogurt and alittle canteloupe.
Meal 2: tuna fish
Meal 3: Chicken with mixed veggies
Meal 4: Protein Shake with natural pb
Meal 5: Chicken
Meal 6: Water Protein Shake

When my weight gets to 117, I will add alittle bit of more carbs, but not too much. I will try to eat my carbs post workout and early in morning.

Meg,

Sounds like your having a good day!

Diane Sue,

What do you think you are allergic too? For me, it is grass.

Debbie,

You rock with that workout! Kickin' Did you get my email?

Lora,

Gonna have that Burt's Bee soon. Getting it off ebay. Anything you use on your lovely face, I want to use it too. You look marvelous, dahling!:*

Maeghan, Beachbody is usually pretty fast here. I bet you get it soon. Sounds like you had a fun day cleaning. It always makes me feel good when everything is done.

Charlotte, I have no clue what I am allergic too. This has been on going since I was a child. Maybe I should push the HMO and get some allergy testing. I hate going to the Dr and I hate meds. It seems seasonal though. I have been miserable for the last month and it really makes me have to push to get my workouts in. I do know that when I spend a day outside working in the yard I am coughing and sneezing and eyes watering all over the place. Probably sometime in August it will hit hard again. I used to think it was a summer cold. Funny thing is sometimes what you think you are allergic to is not right. DD that is a PA in dermatology has allergies. I took so many things away from her trying to figure it out and it was feathers, kapok, and latex. She went in a plane once and had a huge reaction. I can only think it must have been something in the foam seats. She has to have special gloves for work.

Hey Crazies! I did Slim Series "Tear it up" today. Forgot what a killer workout that one is! 80 min. non-stop. Gonna be doing endurance workouts for a few weeks. Probably keep with the Slim Series mostly. I'll also be riding my bike when weather permits, as usual. Weather doesn't look promising this coming week though.

Lora- How do you like Jillians newest workouts, the Shred ones? I'm thinking of getting those and wonder how they compare to the books.

Randi- I didn't order STS. I figure I have P90X and books, etc. if I want that type of rotation. I think I might get the ab circuit one though. Hope I don't regret not ordering.

Debbie- OMG! You can't wait clear till Friday to use the squat machine! We'll die waiting for a report!

Diane Sue- I hope the medicine helps with your allergies. Thanks for abbreviating because I'd never know what those workouts were otherwise.:)

Char- CONGRATULATIONS on getting to 118! Lawd, it took like forever!!
ROFL! I'm kidding you know.}(

Later, gotta run to the store...homemade pizza tonight (just gained a pound typing that!).:9

Afternoon Maniacs,

Kinda fighting a cold here so I did not feel like working out at all, so I really kind of mixed it up which worked well. I did 4 DS Bootcamp skipping four of my least favorite drills, then did the LIC Blast Add-on, then did the three blast and the finished step routine from 4 DS LIS. Workout was about 45 minutes, didn't wear my HRM though.

Great workouts everyone!

Bionics,

Nice to hear from you. Although I don't need to hear that your having pizza. Enjoy though. I am having chicken and banging into walls..I am getting quite delirious here.

Linda,

You have been catching colds alot. Hope you get better.

Hi there Ladies!

Not working out today because we are having a yard sale to get my father-inlaw's house ready to sell. People were here very early. WE made over $2,000 so far. We still have a sofa and a patio set to try to sell.

Toasty - glad your weight is where you want it! Hope you take that bubble bath tomorrow.

Debbie, have fun with your new toy!

Lora - I have not ordered the STS yet. It seems very intense and structured and I am not sure if I can do that now and it is a good bit of money. I will be interested in what you all have to say about it.

Diane Sue - i suffer with allergies too. My brother did the shots last year and said they really helped him and he didn't need to take nearly as much medication. I am thinking of checking into that. It seems like such a time committment though.

Have a great day and weekend everyone.

Funny I have done the Slim Series a few times lately and they seemed so much easier than when I did them before:) I must be gaining some endurance. Good to have you check in. I miss you hear.

Charlotte, 140# for deadlifts?? I think I would probably be dragging out the foam roller to massage my low back:) That is one area I have to be careful with.

Ally, I would think a shot for the allergies would be better. I usually try to cut the meds in half though till I have an idea how they are going to work for me. I think I will wait till after I go to church tomorrow to see how I react to it. Maybe just the cough meds. Those alone can make you drowsy.

LOL! Maybe it was the gazillon reps for 80 min. that I found killer. I hate to say it, but I picked up my 3 lbers once or twice.:p:+
