Good morning!

Lora - Have a GREAT vacation!!!!

Anne - Yeah right - no fat people in LA. Hehehe. Thanks, I've been working HARD to lose the weight.

Char, I'm surprised you're not walking to the new house with the weights, curling all the way. Now that I've given you the idea...

Okay girls, I broke another plateau (okay, so maybe they're not really plateaus after all) and I'm down to 133. Hip hip hooray!!! I've lost 1.5 inches off my hips and 1.5 inches off my waist - this part to me is amazing really. I never lose inches from my hips.

I was playing around last night with the BMI calculator and I can get all the way down to 122 pounds and STILL be within the healthy weight for my height, so I have no idea why my doctor gave me such a stern talking to yesterday. And let me tell you, I could never get down to 122 unless I had my jaw wired shut, TRUST ME on this. :p My sister is a medical transcriptionist and she types for a very busy multi-doctor internal medicine group in town and she said that most people's BMI is 30 and over. She said rarely does she type anyone under 30 (my sister's is 20, BTW :) ). So I think that's just what doctors are used to seeing. When I went to that cardiologist a couple of years ago he said I was the healthiest person he had ever seen and he sent me for an aortal ultrasound and the gals running the ultrasound kept saying "This is so fun, everything is so small and easy to see" so I think they're just used to seeing larger people too maybe when they get to the heart attack stage??? Who knows? It's kind of sad though.

Today I'm going to do a two hour ride with my friend Chris when she gets back from the fertility doctor in Ft. Collins. Hopefully the wind will stay at bay. It's super still right now. But you know how that goes around here. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous. We're supposed to ride tomorrow to, but that depends on what they do to her today. :(

Off to clean birdie cages...

Happy workouts and happy weekends!

Suz

This morning I had a weird workout. I'm on Phase 6, Week 11 and looking quickly at the workout I was excited to see that I would be doing 3 sets/5 reps which usually means HEAVY weights. My excitment quickly diminished when I read what I had to do. This week is using "explosive" positives in the movements but using a weight that I can easily get 20-25 reps out with each exercise. It says that you'll want to do more reps because you won't be no where near failure but to stop at 5 reps. Not sure what the point is in this? I had a 2 minute rest between each set too, which was all the more weird. Kind of felt like I wasted my time.

This is how it went:

Chest:
Bench Press: 70# - 3 sets/5 reps explosive positive
Dumbbell Press: 25's - 3 sets/5 reps explosive positive
Dumbbell Flye: 20's - 3 sets/5 reps explosive positive

Triceps:
Close Grip Barbell Press: 55# - 3 sets/5 reps explosive positive
Kickbacks: 10's - 3 sets/5 reps explosive positive (these actually kind of burned)

Didn't even break a sweat with this.

Abs:
Butts & Guts Stability Ball ab work. I'm not sure I ever did this before, I liked it. I broke a sweat with this. Leave it to Cathe to get me to sweat! LOL!

Going to lunch with one of my girlfriends who I went to grade-school with. Looking forward to it. Haven't seen her in a while. Hope you all have great workouts and a great weekend. Its BEAUTIFUL here today!

Suz - Excellent on breaking that plateau! Very hard to do sometimes! You are kicking butt!!! :)

Lora - Have fun.

Char - How cool getting the weight equipment set up! Can't wait to see pics!

Anne - I love #5 too, its a great workout. Don't you think #4 is harder the #5?

Good Morning, I slept in this morning. Closed the door so Puddle couldn't come in the bedroom and get me up. Instead she chewed the zipper up on her doggy bed:( Now i have to figure out some way to fix it. Those extra large doggie beds are not cheap. I am going to do cardio and abs this morning. Probably a step workout.

Lora, have fun in Vegas.

Debbie, you lift some pretty heavy weights if those are the ones you can perform 25 reps on:) I will have to look at that week. Lunch with an old friend sounds fun.

Charlotte, can't wait to see pictures of your house. You look awesome in the new ones of you that you put up.

Anne, I think you will love all of those CC's. I think I pull out 3 & 5 a lot.

Ya'll are doing some good workouts!!!!! I did shoulder work this morning while waiting for dh. Did lateral raises w/12# db's and then bent over with 20's and then reverse lateral raises with 12's. Feeling pretty good with strength still..surprised.

So I took some pictures. No pictures on walls and no curtains or shades yet. Mailbox in my bedroom. lol.

I gotta go now. Enjoy the pictures. Password is HOUSE and is located in recent picture file.

Char - Love the new house. It's beautiful! Your abs look awesome too by the way.

Debbie - I can't believe you didn't break a sweat lifting that poundage. YIKES!!!!!

Diane Sue - So Puddle tried to show you, huh? Our silly dogs. Gizmo has decided to chew a blanket and a quilt on our couch. :( The quilt is a blanket-type one that DH's grandma made us a long time ago. He chewed it and then shredded a big hole in it. I'm going to try to fix it but it's not going to be pretty. I'm so sad because it's the warmest one we have and so great for the winter when I'm sitting on the couch. The other one was a pretty one we got at Sierra Trading Post and he just chewed a hole right in the middle of it. He's so cute but OH SO DESTRUCTIVE. He can't be left alone.

My girlfriend called and we're meeting in about a half hour for our two hour ride. The wind picked up a bit and it got cloudy. But it will still be good to get outside and ride for a change instead of on the trainer. I'm sure she'll kill me!

Help me ladies!! Decorating dilemna...I am wall bordering now and posted on open discussion...do I run the wall border into hallway or keep it where it is. See pictures there too. HELP!!!!

Charlotte~~

My workout ended up being Cardio Fusion Step premix no stretch then I put in Step Blast premix 2,3 and challenge add on, I followed with Amy Bento's APX core and stretch. I used a 12# dumbbell, gliding discs and did barbell rollouts for one of the moves with 75#. Those side to side planks using the discs and going into the pikes always makes me work up a sweat:) I wanted to do yoga but I got up late and did not want to spend that much time on my workout. DH and I are getting ready to go out and cruise on the motorcycle for awhile.

Charlotte, your house looks wonderful. Where is the workout room:)? I love all of the wood floors. That is something we were looking for. We have a lot of ceramic tile and wood floor but still carpet in some areas. BTW I would stop and not put the border in the hallway. Make it something completely different.

Suz, don't you hate it when you have something special you want to have out and enjoy and children or dogs make it hard to have it out? I have afghans crocheted by my mother, mother in law and grandmother. I was using them but they started getting holes and I put them away. I get out my mother's to cuddle with once in awhile as it makes her feel closer to me since I do not have her anymore:)
Trying to think ahead of our puppies is hard at times. We just went out to buy a metal garden decoration to cover a french drain by the patio. It used to have a plastic cover and Jasmine took it off and chewed on it. We tried replacing it and you know what would happen with two dogs it stands above ground:)

I have either a cold or is allergies. Not feeling too great now.

Anyhow, finished up the border. Decided to run it all the way down. I know the last picture of door area is rather dark due to lighting, but you can get the idea. Thanks for your thoughts Diane Sue and Got2bfit.

Hubby is putting the smith machine back together again so when I get the basement in order, I will take pictures..not very lit down there so I don't know if it will turn out or not. We still have more stuff to still move from FIL's..believe it or not. Seems never ending. Most of the stuff in attic, I would just love to throw out. My dd and ds love to keep everything. They have alot of their toys when they were very young. I could never throw their toys away..just don't have it in me to do that. Collected all their school papers until 4th grade..not throwing that away, but some other things I will.
