Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for May 2015

Today I did Piyo Strength Strong legs stopping at the stretch, 23 minutes, 102 calories. I then did Low Imact Series Total Body Trisets Lower Body, 39 minutes, 201 calories. I finished with STS Ab Circuits 19 minutes, 75 calories. Total time was 81 minutes and calories burned 378.

Debbie, one of my dogs suffers from some allergies around this time of year. Almost every year I have to take her in and they give her a steroid shot and ear drops that gets ups through the season. One year she was losing hair like crazy and we had to do special baths every day and keep the shampoo treatment on her for 15 minutes. Fortunately last year she did okay with just a shot and ear drops. She sneezes and rubs her paws over her head and eyes. That is interesting about the dryer sheets. I hope you can figure it out.

Today I did Bulk Back and had a great workout. I had to laugh because the one exercise where you do 5 sets of 5 reps and you continuously hold the weight - in this workout it's one-arm rows - the guys were doing the same if not lower weights than I was. I used 25# and "pretty boy" used 25# and the other guy was using 20# I think. It was funny, I'm thinking "what wimps!!!"

I couldn't get on my treadmill because my left knee is really bothering me again. I'm still taking those anti-inflammatory's and it doesn't seem to be working anymore. I'm so bummed. I iced it this morning and will do that again after work and before I go to bed. Hopefully that will help.

My cat is ok, he has asthma. WTH? How do animals get asthma? They put him on a steroid and he should be good to go in a couple weeks.

Diane Sue - That is crazy about your dog. I've never heard of such things. What is in our air? It's scary!!!

Today I did Low Impact Series Cardio Supercuts
+Step, 63 minutes, 413 calories and STS Ab Circuits Yoga Inspired Abs 15 minutes, 51 calories. Total Time 78 minutes, 464 calories.

RWH plyo one and ab work.

Diane Sue, I know you have alot of dvds have you ordered kelly coffey's newest? and do you like her workouts and have any faves?

Roselyn, I have a lot of her workouts. I have not purchased the newest two yet but will eventually. I do have favorites. She always had a lot of premixes on her workouts. I have been using Slim Sculpting quite a bit. It is a kettle bell workout though she says you can use a single dumbbell. It has some great core work on it. I really like her 30 Minutes to fitness Muscle definition which I usually do the full body compilation which is 77 minutes. I really do like Shape Up, If done as is the lower body is more cardio and step tabata rounds alternated with upper body tabata rounds. It has upper only and lower only options as well. Circuit Burn is good. I like her home gym intervals, it is alternating weights with cardio on a piece of cardio equipment, Muscle Up is Good but is not something really different, it is 8 rep Super Sets Heavy dumbbell work with some bodyweight work that she does 20 reps on. It has a good ab routine on it. The Lift DVD is good. I really like the Power Sculpt on that one. I guess I really need to go through some of her others again. :)

Today I did Bulk Arms and went up a bit on some exercises. Had an excellent workout. My knee felt better today so I walked .75 miles. Didn't have time for 1 mile.

No workout for me tomorrow or the weekend. I will be out of town. :)

Today I did X Train All Out Low Impact Hiit w/u and step, 18 minutes, 95 calories. I then did STS disc 18 Back and Biceps, 60 minutes, 301 calories. I finished off with STS Ab Circuits Pilates based abs, 19 minutes, 65 calories. Total time was 97 minutes and calories burned 461.
I forgot about all of the pull ups and band warm up stuff. Those are not my favorite things to do. I could only get 10 pull ups in. I doubt that I will be getting in my workout tomorrow. We have company coming to visit and are picking them up from the airport this afternoon.

Debbie, enjoy your break :)

I managed to get in the planned Low Impact Series Afterburn and STS Ab Circuits stability ball abs this morning. 74 minutes, 421 calories. Tomorrow is a family double birthday swim party and tomorrow is the last day we will have guests. Not sure if I will get in STS Monday. Guess I will see how it works out. I generally manage to make it up.

Today I did Body Beast Tempo: Chest & Tri's. I liked it better this time around and I did well with it. I wish they would count more loudly, sometimes I feel like I finish too early with the 6/6 counts. But I tried to stay with them and did well. No time to walk on the treadmill, that workout was 52 minutes.

Hope you both have great workouts today!!!

This morning's workout was STS Mesocycle 1, Week 2 disc 4 chest, shoulders, and biceps, 55 minutes, 304 calories. I followed with Butts and Guts ankle weights abs/core and stretch, 22 minutes, 98 calories. I wore my 2 # weighted gloves along with the 5# dumbbells and 3# ankle weights. Total time was 77 minutes and calories burned was 402.

Debbie, I know what you mean on hearing and the counting. I generally figure I was moving the entire time they were so if I didn't reach the last rep at the same time, I was still working. It usually works better if you are doing a move where you can see each rep while it is being performed.

Today I did Run Fit on my new treadmill. Love that thing!!! I had an excellent workout. My cardio endurance is excellent right now, I don't even get out of breath with sprints. I'm setting it faster and able to keep at it. I'm very happy with my progress.

Workout was 52 minutes, I ran 3.3 miles and burned 356 calories.

Diane Sue - I agree. I wish they would count louder on the workouts. Oh well.

Hope you all have great workouts!!!

Today I did Low Impact Series Turbo Barre Express Lower Body, 52 minutes, 145 calories. I then did Two the Max, Lower Compound segment and bonus slide and glide tabata, 12 minutes, 75 calories. This was an accidental choice because I meant to use Crossfire. I went ahead with Crossfire low impact tabata twice, core, and stretch, 26 minutes, 140 caalories. Total time was 90 minutes and calories burned 360. I was abit hesitant on Turbo Barre because last time I did it my knee hurt. It seems fine right now so maybe it was something else I did or form. I used a mirror to watch my form while doing it this time Just to make sure my knees were placed right.

Debbie, it seems that you are really enjoying the new treadmill Great job on the cardio progress. When I got my first treadmill I used it almost every day. I wore it out! But I managed to get up to 10 mph sprint intervals and sometimes stayed on it for 10 miles. It was probably overtraining but I just kept pushing. Before I sold my last treadmill to my daughter when me moved I was lucky to hit 8mph for a brief time. Now I just have the Tread Climber and the Spin Bike. There was just not enough room here for 3 pieces of cardio equipment.

Today I did Body Beast Tempo - Back & Bi's. Had a great workout. I am really going to miss this series when I'm done, I only have one more week to go. :( I will take a week off from weights and then decide what to do next. I'm bummed I'm already almost finished with BB.

Diane Sue - Wow, that is fast. I've never gone above 7 mph because I felt like I would fly right off the treadmill. 10 mph is fast. Yes, I really love this treadmill and I now love to run. I remember hating cardio back in the day. Now I love it. I seem to be able to jog at a steady pace for a long time now. I used to really struggle with that.

Today I wanted a bit more warm up since I was stiff and achy when I got up so I did P90X3 Cold Start, 12 minutes and followed with Afterburn 54 minutes, 66 minutes total 410 calories. Max HR 163/ Avg HR 133. I then did P90X3 Yoga with a few minutes of TRX shoulder, neck and hip stretches, 36 minutes, 131 calories. Total time spent was 1 hr 42 minutes and calories burned 541.
Tomorrow will be shorter because I am picking up my 7 year old granddaughter so I can spend time at the library and park with her and my grandson that is 4. I think tomorrow is going to be the only day that there is not a chance of rain this week. We have had so many storms and areas of flooding here lately.

Debbie, the first time through Body Beast went pretty fast for me too. I didn't experience the same boredom that I generally get when doing a workout series like that. I guess that is why I went back for the second round after a short break from it. I am liking the undulating rotation because it changes a lot. I still may add to or change some of it a bit. If I don't have a lot of time the planned workouts are not too long as they are set up.

Roselyn, are you feeling better now?

Today I did all of Press Play and had an excellent workout. Went faster with the challenges then ever before and my hill climbs were higher. Honestly, this time last year I never thought I'd be able to do an hour of cardio again, let alone over an hour due to my knees. It's amazing what a little anti-inflammatory pill can do for you.

Workout was 1 hr. 5 minutes long, I ran 4 miles (farthest ever!!) and burned 422 calories (although I think it's more). Woo hoo!!!!

Diane Sue - Where can I find this undulated rotation? Sounds awesome!!
