Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for March 2016

Today was Cathe Live Step Express w/ blasts, 41 minutes, 321 calories, HR 133 avg/ 159 max. I wanted an hour so I Get Steppin (I think that is the name, it is the last step Cathe has done) starting after the first 6 minutes to skip the warm up and stopping after the 2nd combo and doing the stretch, 24 minutes, 172 calories, HR 135 avg/a45 max) Total time 65 minutes, 493 calories. My weight has dropped back down a bit over the last week. I am figuring part of it is from the water retention you get with a lot of meds. I am not taking the stuff for the shoulder anymore. That and a few less calories.

Debbie, I think mostly enjoy Orange Roughy and Mahi Mahi but, decent quality. Fish should not have a strong fish taste. Not if it is fresh. When I eat the tilapia I get at the grocery store it reminds me of fishy smell and dirt. I cook my fish to where it is almost dry. I can't eat it the way many want to prepare it. Again, seasonings and sauces. Schwan's has some of the best tasting tilapia (loins). They seriously do not remind me of any tilapia I have ever eaten. I need to start ordering from them again.

Jolie, good job with the chest work. I have not plan right now. I am waiting till I think I can do a whole routine without having to stop. I got two new pair of shoes in December. I like them both for different reasons. The Cross Fit Nano has a nice wide base for balance and weights so I like them for that and the fact that there is plenty of toe room. But I got the other pair for cardio and agility type stuff along with step. The Nano has a lot of tread that catches on the step and carpet so I prefer less traction for the cardio stuff. The second pair is an Adidas trainer and has the toe room but hugs the heel a bit better. I like them a lot and they were not really expensive. I like protein bars and have made some that I really like. There is one in the Fixate cookbook that has almond butter and oat flour in them with whey. They are really good. The pumpkin energy bars in Fixate are good too. They have to be refrigerated though. It takes work to find what to do differently to make that difference. I get worried when I watch the scale keep moving up. It is silly because my clothes all seem to fit pretty much the same and I was surprised to see my body fat had dropped during Hammer and Chisel. I try no to be a slave to the scale and most of the time stay off of it.

So today was the last full boy workout and I didn't do it. Pathetic, huh? I'm just done. I'm tired, I have a headache and I have no desire to workout this morning. I'll start my recovery week today. I plan on not doing much of anything until Tuesday, then I'll do either yoga or walking on my treadmill.

No workout for me today. I slept 10 hours last night and I am still out of energy. I need to just take my rest week starting now. I have been going hard since Christmas and need a rest! I am going to go and visit my parents in Palm Springs for the weekend. The weather is gorgeous around 88 degrees and dry. I plan on laying in the sun by the pool and reading a good book. I will be having an active recovery week, walking and possibly kickboxing. When I do cardio it improves my moods. Weight training always made me feel happy and now its cardio, go figure? I hope each of you have a nice Easter with your family and friends. I will check in when I get back and let you know what I have been doing or not doing!

This was an off day for me too. I got up and dressed to workout when my son in law called and asked me to watch the children because he had an interview scheduled with someone at his work and my daughter was sick. I am the alternate when she cannot do her daycare business. So, I went to help. Then my son in law and grandson came to help with remodel work my husband is doing in the kitchen. There was drywall allover and sawdust. Eating was not good. Nothing but some coffee this morning. Lunch a Mcdonalds salad since I had my teenage granddaughter come and spend the night watching movies with us and she was still here when I got home. Then my Son in Law bought Dominoes for dinner. I ended up with 1 piece of pizza and some chicken bites. That is it for the day. It is late and I just got done cleaning the house so I can get ready for Easter tomorrow. I will do better tomorrow :)

Roselyn, I have adjusted that recipe for the sauce several times. It was good every time. I used some low sodium vegetable broth in place of the wine the first time and used pure maple syrup. The second time I used a bit of honey, TBS of red wine vinegar along with water in place of the wine, then I just left both out and added a little water for some extra liquid and it was still excellent. One time I used the Digiorno large parmesan flakes and it was yummy.

Jolie, it sounds like you really need some rest. Enjoy the weekend )

Good morning! I decided to workout today because it is raining and I wanted to walk outside and now I cant. I did not get in Biceps and Triceps last week so I wanted to get that in this week. I took RWH Biceps and added on some additional exercises for Biceps and I did STS #13 Triceps and added extra exercise on to that one too!

Today I wanted low impact. Still being careful of the neck area. Workout was live Hard Strikes low impact boxing, 59 minutes, 341 calories. I didn't get the HR up that much with this since it was mainly boxing. I was surprised at the weight work at the end. I expected it to all be abs for some reason. I did some modifications on it. I then did the stability ball abs form live Cardio Boxing with stability ball starting at 33 minutes into the workout and also did the stretch, 14 minutes, 55 calories. Total time 73 minutes, 396 calories. Yesterday I did P90X2 Recovery and Mobility and a You Tube Neck and Shoulder Pain yoga/stretch workout that is all seated. It helps tremendously but I wish the lady didn't talk so much.

Jolie nice work on biceps and triceps today.

Roselyn, I spent most of Saturday and Sunday preparing for Easter ) I bet your son was home and it was quite fun.
 
My son was home, he got home Thursday, left yesterday about 3. Always hard to let them go and he left sick:(

I did Insanity Max 30 Max Cardio this afternoon, slept in this morning after all the business yesterday.
 
Today I did Cathe Live Butts and Guts followed by the first 3 rounds of Live Blasts, Barre , and Bands with a couple of modifications. Butts and Guts workout was 54 minutes, 312 calories and Blasts Barre and Bands was 35 (included the stretch) 202 calories. Total time was 89 minutes and calories burned 514. Blasts, Barre, and bands uses light dumbbell for some moves. It is a cardio blast, lower body barre and an upper body part focus for each round.

Today was a walk outside. 5.32 miles and 9,956 steps. The weather is sunny but cool today so it was nice for walking. I'm still waiting for my shoes and Fitbit to arrive, hopefully they will come tomorrow. I am loving my rest week. Usually I feel guilty that I am not working out but not this time. I think I really needed the rest.

I am going out to teach my son how to drive. Six more months and he gets his license. I am excited because the 100 miles I drive 6 days a week is wearing on me.

I'm tired of feeling like a slug so I got on my treadmill and walked 3 miles. Then I did some various ab moves and stretched. Feel much better!!! Hate feeling lazy.

I finally got my Fitbit and used it today. I am not sure what I think about it yet, there is so much to learn. My son set it up for me so I was happy about that! Went on a 5.32 mile walk today and it says I walked 10,012 steps! It also said that I burned 602 calories, but I don't believe it. I walk at a very fast pace and most of it is uphill but that still seems high. It is 12:30pm and I have walked 15,520 steps already. I did take the dog for a 1.5 mile walk early this morning and I will get one in tonight. I think I have become a walking fool!

Not posting my eats on vacation because I have not been too good and I don't to put it in writing! :(

I worked out this morning but had to get out to do some shopping and banking. I kept getting severe storm warnings on my phone app. I wanted to do it quick and get back. Now, I think I may be coming down with whatever coughing virus it is my husband has had for the last week. I got so busy that I didn't eat today till 4 when I got home. Then was helping husband with the wall board for the kitchen. Today I did Cathe Live 80's Style Cardio with Low Impact blasts, 48 minutes, 390 calories. I then put in Live Step express and skipped the warm up and stopped at the straddle jumps on and off the step and went to the last blast, cool down/stretch 26 minutes, 209 calories. HR 133 avg/ 164 max Total time 74 minutes and calories burned 599

I need to figure my meals. I logged this morning but since I ate so late today I have not had time to log the rest. I probably have a bit of something before bed.

Deb, I do not do well with doing nothing. A little cardio or yoga is good though. Nice work today :)

Roselyn, nice work on the eats. I am sorry you have to go back to the dentist again.

Jolie, I can do that many calories on a treadmill for that mileage but generally it is at a jog, run pace. 4.5-6.5 miles per hour. You will get used to it. Does it have you enter stats when you start out? My devices all err some one way or the other. I can use my Bluetooth polar with my watch and my tablet and I burn more calories on the tablet than on the watch and this is a Polar watch and a Polar app on the tablet. That is why I also use an app that I put my average HR in and time spent and I figure from there. I have been having issues with my Bluetooth Polar again. It will be fine and suddenly mid workout it goes bonkers so I have to pause and adjust, sometimes unpairing it and repairing it. I would love something that always was reliable. I sent it in because it is under warranty and they sent it back. I don't think the did anything. They said something about wetting the electrodes and interference which I had explained that I had taken care of all of that.

Today I did 3 miles on the treadmill again. Worked up a good sweat on a 4% incline. Got 7700 steps in so that was good.

Diane Sue - Yes this is my recovery week. Was going to stretch and do yoga and haven't done anything like that yet. Oh well. I'm stretching after I walk. Nice eats. I've been doing good with my eating, too.

Jolie - Nice job on your walks. Wow, that's a lot of miles!!! Nice job.

Roselyn - Hope your teeth is doing better. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow and have a feeling I have an issue in one of my teeth. Yikes!!
