Good morning!

I never got my workout in yesterday. x( I kept waiting for DH to download CC#7 and by the time he did then he wanted to go get the plates for his pickup and then go eat and by the time we got home it was time for me to leave and go to meet my girlfriends at Barnes & Noble for knitting night. While DH and I were out we picked up a couple of movies - Transformers and Knocked Up, so when I got home we watched those and I didn't get to bed until after midnight. There went the day. Shame on me!

So...this morning I'm going to get it done before he gets up. I woke up with a headache and took Excedrin so I'm just waiting for that to kick in a bit and then I'm off to the basement.

Debbie - Sorry you're not looking forward to Avon deliveries. I wish you lived near me b/c I'd buy from you. :)

Diane Sue - Awesome workout so far! I just made a big pot of decaf coffee so I can put it in a pitcher in the refrigerator to make the DS Iced Coffee drinks easier. :)

I just got my shipping notice - Tuesday. Woo hoo!!!

I hope you all have great workouts and HAPPY FRIDAY! My last day of vacation. :(

Suz, it sounds like you had a pleasant day yesterday though. You will make it up. I haven't looked at the new CC#7 yet. I do that with my decaf coffee too. Put a container in the refrigerator so it is already nice and cold. Takes less ice so it doesn't get watered down. I get my Cathe's on Monday. It will probably will be in the afternoon. So are are you knitting anything special? I will find out today if I am getting a new boy or girl grandbaby then will be able to choose colors. My one dd already crocheted the baby a blanket. I pick up patterns off of LionBrand.com I like how most can be knitted or crocheted. I can do both though.

Morning Maniacs! Todays plan is a bike ride later today...HOPEFULLY. Today is the last good day of weather and then it gets ugly again. I'm starving this morning. The popcorn for dinner was not enough. I also should get my DVD's on Tuesday.

Suz-Sounds like you had a fun day yesterday.:)

Debbie-I'd buy from you too if you lived close.:)

Diane Sue- You guys are making me want your coffee concoction and I don't even like coffee. LOL!

Diane Sue - I just HATE missing a workout like that though. Especially when I'm on vacation and have no reason other than I sat on my behind. :) It's not like I couldn't have done another workout. DH wasn't really aware that I was waiting for him to do that so I could work out. Poor guy! I've been knitting this baby blanket in bright crayola colors. I'm hoping to finish it by January for my friend who is adopting a baby. She's the one who recently lost her baby. I've been working on it forever. I'd love to finish it. I love Lion Brand's website. I wish I could crochet. Isn't it a lot faster? How exciting that you'll find out today! Will you let us know? There's a really cute pattern on Vickie Howell's website (from Knitty Gritty). I'll look it up for you and post the link. Only thing is you have to buy the pattern, but it's SO cute - for a boy I think.

Guess my other post was missed....so I'll repost here.

This morning I did Cathe's 4 Day Split - Chest, Shoulders & Triceps pemix and Back and Biceps premix, and the core segment from Lower Intensity Step. I did it like this because I was only planning on doing Chest, Shoulders & Tri's premix and core, but I decided to do the entire upper body instead. Workout was 1 hour 34" and I burned 417 calories. I also did Dharma Yoga - Stress Relief segment. I wanted to try some cardio, bt today is cleaning day.....so didn't really have time.

The music on ths was techno sounding with some vocals. Nothing recognizable. I like the mural/backdrop she used for the studio. My only complaint so far is that I wish she had a total body premix that was around an hour long. I don't have 90 minutes to workout when I'm working. The music could have been better, but I always have high expectations in that area. It's just my opinion...so I'm sure others will love it. That just makes me certain that I'll buy the CIA's again this year....cuz that music from that last series was excellent.

Food yestday -- Asian Salad with low fat balsamic vinagarette. Dinner was Alpine Lace swiss cees ahalf a roll and a few Guiltless Gourmet baked tortilla chips with a little bit of salsa. I ahd an apple and Danon Light & Fit yogurt for a snack. This morning I had 10 almonds and I'm eating breakfast right now. Plain shredded wheats with dried cranbertries.

Diane Sue -I don't know how you go without eating breakast every morning. I love breakfast and I always wake up starving. I want to buy some Steel Cut oats, as I hate the regular ones cuz they are too mushy. Love the texture of the steel cut, but I can't find them around here. I was going to look online for some. Do you have any ideas where I can purchase? Also, do you know if you can microvte them? I'd hate to buy themnd fin out ou an't prepare them in the microwave.

Have great workouts everyone. I'm off to clean.

Hey Dallys - I'm glad the water bottle is working out for you. I remember this guy when I was in my early 20's (oh so many years ago) and he and his wife had a parrot and it was being noisy and he took it in the kitchen with a water bottle and sprayed the crap out of it and I remember thinking how mean. It was squaking and he kept asking it if it had enough. A couple little squirts does the trick. I would never squirt Big Bird up close. That would hurt her I would think. I'm sure that man's bird got the message after the first squirt or two. Made me sick! Sometimes all I have to do is show Big Bird the water bottle. :p Enjoy your ride. We've had 30mph winds the past 3 days, so no cycling going on here.

Lora - I would say that it depends on what your focus is as to what you want to work first. If I do a really hard lifting session, my legs are too tired to do good cardio. But if I do a tough cardio session, I'm too wiped out to give much to lifting. I'm probably not the best one to ask since during cycling season I don't lift legs except for once a week. And that once a week I lift them AFTER a hard ride because I want them fresh for that ride or else I wouldn't be able to ride and keep up with the group. :) Not a very good answer, huh? Diane Sue does both cardio and lifting on the same day, maybe she has a better answer???

Suz I can't believe how well it's working, seriously!:) Yesterday morning when I put him in my shop, I was busy walking in and out, and he did his usual "freakout" everytime I left the room. I then squirt him and he flew around in a panic and this went on about 3 or 4 times in a row. After that, he didn't make a peep for hrs.(I felt sooooo guilty!) The last couple of nights when he's been in the den and I'm not, I have DS or DH sit in there and zap him when he squawks for me(they love it!). Last night dh only had to do it one time. Dh also said now if he just reaches for the bottle he'll stop. This morning, not one squawk for me and that's a miracle! He's doing alot of gentle cooing instead and it's a beautiful sound.:)

Good morning Maniacs! :D Have a fun Avon/rest day Debbie :)

Upper body fun this morning

Shoulder Press: 12x40, 2x12x45

Went up 5 lbs on the last 2 sets. Woohoo!

1-Arm Shoulder Press: 2x12x30
I struggled a little on this one today; could be because I pushed it on the first shoulder press

Seated DB Side Raises: 3x12x10's
Boy, this movement is so hard The 8's must have completely disappeared because I did not see them. All 3 sets with the 10's were a struggle. Oh well, no sense in trying to use the 8's anymore since I have used the 10's for 2 weeks in a row :smile: It's good to push yourself anyway.

BB Upright Row: 3x12x30
I really like this exercise!

BB Curl: 12x30, 12x40, 12x30
I had to go back down to 30 after 1 set w/the 40. Whew!

Superset:
Preachers 3x12x45

Tricep Pushdown: 15x100, 15x110, 12x120
The Preachers were a struggle because my bi's were fried by the BB curls! The last two sets were stop and start halfway through

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No time for cardio this morning, so I'll have to squeeze it in this afternoon. I need to get up earlier!
I'll post my Challenge stats (for Debbie) later. Work beckons!
When I got sick from the chicken (I have an adjustable gastric band) 4 weeks ago, and then got the flu 2 weeks ago, I had to eat alot of soft/carby foods which really derailed me I lost a couple of pounds, and my measurements are virtually unchanged, which is good ... hopefully I am on a "clean diet" stretch which'll get me closer to my goals
There's not much change from back in August :(
Hi Suz,
I was just popping in for a moment...late lunch here. I'm interesting in knitting. Does it take long to learn. Can I learn just as easy from a book or better from someone who's been knitting? Am I too late to learn enough to make Christmas gifts?
Thanks,
Sandy
Well, my nutrition isn't going so well today. I ran out the door with the grandchildren and dropped film at Walgreens for 1 hr finishing. We went to Target and back to get the pictures over an hour later. They were not finished. Guy said they were started whatever that means. Said 20 minutes. Well, we had not had lunch. I only had my coffee protein drink this morning and it was after 1. So we went next food to Popeyes. Yew!!! Definitely no healthy choices. I got a diet Dr Pepper and the cajun rice that had some kind of meat in it. I am assuming chicken. It seemed greasy. Glad it was really small. I looked it up and I guess I could have done worse. 170 cal, 8 pro, 22 carb, 6 fat and 530 sodium. I came home and made another protein drink. We are still waiting on those pictures and it is now 3:30. Guy said he would give us 1/2 off. But now I have to go out again. Oh, we are going to get a new granddaughter:) So lots of girlie things.
Dallys, maybe if you like tea you could make a iced smoothie with some chai tea and Splenda, protein powder mix. Glad your bird is calming down.
Suz, thanks for the link to the pattern. That would be cute done in girlie colors. Yes, crocheting is much faster than knitting. I tend to want to crochet more. I got my granddaughter 11 knitting stuff a couple of years ago and got her started. Also have taught her crocheting. SHe helped her mother when she started.
Lora, you can buy the Steel Cut oats at Amazon.com. Walmart Super Center here has the Irish oats. They are a lot better than the regular quaker Oats. I would think you can cook any of the hot cereals in the microwave.
