Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Friday Nov 17

Thanks Suz, Dallys and Diane Sue for the help with P90X. I think I will try it on the Bowflex first, can always go to Plan B later with bands or a real pull up bar.

I'm soooo excited. Hope I still feel that way once I'm doing the rotation :7

Think I will try to do the extra cardio sessions, but not until a little later in the rotation as I hear the first week or so are intense.

Dallys, what kind of eating did you do and was it enough to fuel your mtn. bike rides too? I remember about 4 years ago, I did the Zone Diet and lost a few pounds, but by the end of the cycling season, I was exhausted, my legs had the creepy crawlies and were fatigued all the time, and I was almost in worse shape than when I started. I bumped up the carbs a little, a couple pounds came back on, but I felt a whole lot better. The good thing, like Suz's thinking too, I believe, is that we will be doing this before the real cycling season starts so we won't be doing lots of riding anyway. I just like to keep spinning during the winter not to lose too much fitness bikewise. Your picture looks great and I see lots of nice definition and leanness, something I'm hoping to get too.

You guys are all awesome and inspire me tremendously. Thanks.

Jeanette-

I had to up my carbs for sure. I tried their diet at first but it was to low in carbs, I bonked a few rides. I haven't been extremely strick with my eating, but I have eaten fairly clean the whole rotation. I haven't kept track, but I would say I'm close to 30p-50c-20f. I'm not afraid of my rice and potatoes, but I've stayed away from white bread and most sugary things.

You are starting at a good time. I started this rotation right at the best biking time and had to move some workouts around a little, to work some rides in. The first time I did a P90X rotation(did'nt add in extra cardio) was in the spring and that was not a good time for a biker to start P90X, I didn't have anytime to get in biking shape. LOL! I was the slow/weak biker that summer, but I looked good. LOL!

You look pretty darn good in your pictures! To bad all of us bikers don't live by each other. It'd be fun to all go on some rides.

I am starting P90X after Thanksgiving. Just got it for my birthday. We might have to turn this check in into a P90X check in. lol.

Netta,

Your pictures do look great. The picture of you on the horse is very nice too and the background looks like where I live.

Bionics,

Yes, I wish we could all ride with each other. That would be so much fun! I am not a fast biker though.

Talk to ya'll Maniacs later!

Dallys, what state do you live in? I'm in California, but planning on visiting Suz in Cheyenne, Wyoming this next year, whenever the wind isn't blowing LOL! Actually, blowing or not, I'm going. Yes, it would be great if we could all get together. We have a lot in common and by then, we'll all have experienced P90X!

I'll take note of the 30-50-20 and will probably start tracking on Fitday again. I used to track all the time on there but got away from it and when I went back to it, they'd changed their format and all of my custom food breakdowns were gone.

This summer, 4 other girlfriends and myself drove 3 1/2 hours away and stayed in Ashland, Oregon and cycled 3 days (road riding). We had a great time, based in a Holiday Inn and ate some great food and saw beautiful country. It was a blast!

I have a mtn. bike but I'm not a very good mtn. biker. Hate the rocks so I'm just way too cautious and don't usually have enough momentum going. My bike is an entry level Gary Fisher with minimal suspension in the front. I do have fun when I go, need to do more of it though.
Where were the bike pictures taken on your picture trail? Great country, I'd love to ride there.

Hi again Maniacs! I ended up not doing KenpoX and did Legs and Back X instead. I added on the 4 blasts and stretch from Low Impact cuircut. I was able to do 11 chins today and 7 close grip pull-ups and 3 wide grips... Yeah! I can't believe it's almost all over and I'm finally getting good a pull-ups. LOL! Ain't that how it always goes? I'll have to keep doing these, so I don't lose em. I never ever thought I'd get to this many.

Char-
Great B-day present. You are going to have fun all doing P90X at the same time.:) Now I want to do it again. LOL!

Jeanette-
I'm in Utah, close to SLC. My DH has me all set up with a good Mt. Bike. It's a Racer X. I LoOOOOOve the rocks and down hills and all that. I like to get beat up a little. I usually sport a bunch of bruises on my shins and legs. I'm slow at climbing, but I got alot better at it this summer. I don't have a road bike, but maybe some day I'll get one. I'm scared of the traffic and I'm pokey on the roads. LOL! My picures are in Torrey and the Boulder Mt. in Utah. Very close to Capital Reefs.

Wow, Utah! Hey, my DH and I are doing an ATV trip this next late summer to the Paiute ATV Trail in Utah. We recently (Labor Day) bought a Yamaha Rhino (think golf cart on steroids, it's got 2 seats, side by side and a dump bed in the back) and we love, love, love it! Maybe I'll post some pictures to my picture trail. Our trip will probably be about a week long. It's in the Fishlake area, looks like south of SLC.

You're brave on the mtn. bike! Does your DH ride also? Mine really doesn't, but when we do, I let him lead and poke (and I mean poke) along at his own pace. He thinks I'm way too much in a hurry when I ride and I'm thinking I'm going really slow with him. Your country looks fabulous for riding! I'm from a smaller town (17,000 on the population sign, if you count the 8,000 inmates in 2 nearby prisons, which they do) but our traffic isn't bad at all. Usually pretty pleasant.

Wow, Charlotte, you too for P90X? Yep, there will be a bunch of us. I was wondering if Debbie had ever done P90X?

I've got to go do the Guts part of B&G now.

Jeanette-
The Yamaha Rhino sounds fun! Would love to see pics. Fishlake is VERY close to Torrey Utah, like 60 miles North. You'll love that area, the lake is georgous! Yea, my DH is a fanatic and rides alot. He is very hard for me to keep up with, even in my best shape. We fight alot when we ride. LOL! He is getting more patient with me. I don't know if Debbie has done P90X, but Lora and Diane Sue have.
