Morning Fit Ladies-

This morning I did warm up and upper body from Body Max 2 followed by Butts & Gutts Bonus Leg Work, Firewalkers and Floorwork. I needed to work abs today, but I ran out of time, as it took me about 75 minutes or so to do this. I burned 330 calories from w/u to stretch. My legs feel worked but my upper body, not so much.

Have great workouts everyone and I'll try to check back from work later.
 
Good Morning Maniacs!!

Today I will do the power circuit off Body Max. I worked upper body yesterday so not sure what else I will do just yet. I have time today so I will figure it out.

I don't like the upperbody workout in BodyMax2 too much. Maybe I am just use to working upperbody on my own? I don't feel it this morning except for in my shoulders some. I like the stepping work in there. Will check out power circuit today. I love firewalkers though. I think I might do some of those today again. Nice calorie burn. I have no idea how much I burned yesterday. I had sweat dripping in my eyes...everywhere.

Has anyone ever went power walking with ankle weights on?

Well, I ended up doing BodyMax 2 last night. I didn't get finished till 8:30 last night . When it got to the charleston( reminded me of the firm)I was officially beat. Made it through the rest. Snow angels, i made for 3 counts and arm collapsed. It was funny. I hit the floor.My stable arm was shaking so bad it was funny. But, i knew it was the end....You just had to see it.

My underwear were wet . Talking about sweat.
I had to eat after that. So, i had a tiny piece of meatloaf and a bag of broc/ caulif steamers and some pickles for desert. Nice combo, huh.
I slept like a baby.
I like keeping it around and hour. It is hard after working all day to do this much.
I have no idea tonite what to do...
Maybe Kick max or KPC or drill max lowe only...
Suggestions please...
Oh, do i have to go to work?
I could have stayed in bed...

Good Morning, today I am doing a treadmill run, abs/core, and yoga/stretch. Tomorrow will be a total body day.

Lora, it sounds like you did good today. I heavy up on Body Max2 upper body the only time I have had doms with it though is doing it two times. Maybe you could get in some core work with your yoga tomorrow. I like doing the core work on Yoga Shatki on an ab day.

Charlotte, I love those firewalkers too. I didn't do them yesterday when I did Butts & Guts premix but did do them on the Drill Max total body premix Monday. I used my silver band. I think after overall legs floorwork was done I was glad I didn't do firewalkers too:)

Diane Sue -I've never done the Core work on Shakti. How long is it? Is it good? Do you feel it?

Megadoo & Debbie - I didn't get to watch GH last night (now I've missed 2 nights). I have it on tape though. My DH says it's all about the wedding...........hate to say ....but that's sort of boring to me!! LOL.

I can't wait to get out of here today. I have lots to do when I get home and all weekend. Weekends are too short!!

Just popping in here to say hi and ask for your expertise. I bit the bullet and bought P90X (hasn't arrived yet). I posted this question on the General Discussion area in the Everything About P90X thread but think my question got lost. Here it is:

Thanks for starting this thread. I bit the bullet and ordered P90X last night. Can't wait to start.

Question, I have a Bowflex. Can I use the Lat Tower for the pullup work? The Bowflex is in another room away from the TV so would that be a tough thing to do without assistance from Tony?

Also, pullup bars...how are they installed? I'm trying to get a picture of how the bands are used with it. I didn't order any bands yet, thinking maybe the Bowflex would work.

Dumbbells...what weights will I need? I have DB's up to 20#. I come near Cathe's weights with her workouts.

I've been doing a Cardio Coach a week on the trainer to keep myself fit thru the winter for cycling, and one ride of about 30 miles on the weekend (moderate pace). Could I still work these rides in while doing a P90X rotation, or would it be too much cardio?

Thanks for providing a thread for us to read info on P90X and for us to ask questions of you experienced X'ers.

Lora- the wedding was actually good, not boring. Hilarious part where Tracey fell, and then the maid(forgot her name) gagged her and locked her in the closet! Funny. It really wasn't the traditional boring thing. And then end was GOOD! Watch it, trust me.

Dallys- this is twice now that I have gotten ab DOMS from AbRx. I love it!

Mornin'!

This morning I did CC#4 on the elliptical. My legs didn't want to do it. :) I cleaned bird cages first then worked out then showered and off to work. I'm off at 1 today. Yay!

Lora - great workout. And no payday today! :)

Char - I love those firewalkers too. Burn baby! I have walked up the basement stairs with ankle weights on - that's not easy! :)

Storm - I can't believe you worked so hard you peed your pants. }( Ah, you experienced the arm shake during the snow angels like I did. Isn't that crazy?

Meg - congrats on the DOMS girl!

Diane Sue - have a great workout. Is the silver band more tension? How's your grandson feeling?

Dallys - have fun with KenpoX. I hope I'll like that one! Did you say the turkey meatloaf was from the EFL cookbook?

And I just have to pipe in here about Jeanette - don't let her fool you. She didn't really tell it like it is, but she is an AMAZING cyclist. She's extremely fast. Her "moderate" paced rides are not that moderate to the rest of us. :) Jeanette - after I e-mailed you last night I thougt of something - I think my old Bowflex said not to hang on that top bar thing. But I don't remember for sure. Diane Sue has a Bowflex so she may be able to weigh in. I think the pull-up bars that you can buy off of the Beachbody site just fit in a doorway pretty easily. Dallys, yes i did . My DH ate almost all of it. He is a hog.

Meag, training him has really been a trip.
Haven't done weights in a w/o like that since the Sandall Bergman tape of the firm when she did the leg press w/ the ankle weights. I do remember it being hard at the time.

DH is going to a football game so i have all the time i want to w/o tonite.I can take my time and do as much as i want. I just don't know what to do!!!

I have to get the yoga Shatki. Is it hard???

Thanks for the nice words but you are too kind. I look at the fat on these short legs and wonder where the power is. It's hidden way down deep. I mean WAY down deep. A problem area for sure.

I was thinking of using the regular lat pull downs on the Bowflex, not using the tower itself to hang from. Do you think that would work for the back work?

I'm going to go check the pull up bars on the website. The only doorway near the TV is the one leading onto the back porch. Is that where I'd put it?

Ooooohhhhh. I get it! :) Yeah, I think that would work because if I remember correctly, Shelley talked about being able to use the bands instead of the pull-up bar so I would think that the Bowflex would work.

Netta, I used the lat tower and did pulldowns on it in place of the pull ups. When they use the bands they are doing pulldowns with them over a bar or something. If your Bowflex is in another room you will be doing a lot of running back and forth but you could do it. Everyone does different reps on these. They kind of alternate body parts throughout. I was kind of afraid of the way those bars hand in the doorway. On the workouts they have bars hanging from the ceiling. I would like to see one of them big guys hanging on one in a doorway.

I finished my workout. I did not get in the yoga I wanted to. I have too many things to get done before I pick up my grandchildren from school. I put in Cardio Coach#4 and went on when finished to run for 1 hr 10 minutes. I did 6 miles. Then I did 3 sets ea. 15 hanging knee raises with a 10# med ball. 30 ball woodchops w/25#, 2 sets 50# Bowflex oblique twists 25 reps ea. side, 1 set Bowflex 100# crunches 50 reps, then Amy Bentos Abs#1 using 10# dumbbells throughout, and Amy's stretch#2.

Lora, Yoga Shatki abs/core is 9min40sec.. I think it is pretty intense. She does some of those levitation holds in it demonstrating using the blocks or on your hands, also a balancing move similar to the crow in Yoga X, and various holds with legs extended. You really have to hold the core muscles tight to hold the poses. It is not the same feel as adding weights or doing a high rep endurance type of ab workout but I think it is definitely effective.

Suz, yes the silver band was the heaviest tension one that I found of the dynaband ones.

Hi Jeanette, Lets see if I can answer some of your questions.:)

Yes, you can use the bowflex for pull-downs. I know Diane Sue did this and I used my pull-down station. I did pull-ups for half of the workout and then pull-downs the other half. So, you won't need a pull-up bar, or the bands. A pull-up bar is fun to have though.:) I think you will have plenty of time to run in the other room and do them on the bowflex. You won't need Tony.:)

I'm not sure how the bar is installed, as I have a different one. In the workouts it looks like they just loop it around a ceiling pipe (not sure how they secure it)and pull down with the handles. I used my band a different way. I used it for pull-ups not pull-downs. I put the bar through the handles and put my knee in the loop and did pull-ups that way. It was great in helping me eventually do real pull-ups. It is harder than the chair assist.

As for dumbells. I would add 25's and 30's.

I'm sure you could keep doing your bike rides and CC. I did alot of mountain biking before it got to cold. I've added alot of extra cardio workouts doing the "Doubles" Rotation.

keep forgetting to answer you on the kickboxing thing. If you hate kickboxing you could do something else, I'm sure. I actually like the Kenpo X workout and it hard for me to do some of Cathe's kickboxing. So, try it and see how you feel. Yeah, the meatloaf recipe is in the EFL book.

I can do the Crane in Yoga X. But, I can't for the life of me do that balancing pose in Yoga Shatki with the extended legs!
