Morning Ladies -

Boy - what a day I had yesterday. Sorry that I never made it back to the thread. I have not been well. I've had a GI thing going on the last 2 days. I have been extremely nauseous, etc. I worked out this morning but took it easy. I did Core Secrets - Gunnar's Hard Body Challenge (about 40 min) followed by about 20-25 min. of Izett's Extreme Step.

Have great workouts. I doubt I'll be able to check in from work, as my boss is being difficult lately (what else is new, huh?).

The Blue Moon oil won't be available until 2007....when the next Blue Moon is. I'm not sure without checking it out on the internet. The Black Moon is up right now at www.BlackPhoenixAlchemyLab.com under Limited Editions. (Reviews of all the blends can be found at the forum's URL: www.BPAL.org under Reviews). It will probably be up until Monday and the Halloween blends are supposed to go live on Monday also. For those of you not familiar with Black Phoenix....if you want a pure oil that is totally different than the "commercial stuff" with alcohol sold in the stores, give the oils a try. You'll never go back to commercial perfume again. Beth has probably more than 300-400 blends available, so there's most likely something there for everyone, but the Limited Editions are the best! I go crazy for them. Carnivale Diabolique is the current large Limited's selection up right now. It has it's own drop down menu on the site, whereas the Lunar oils are listed under Limited Editions. There's a new Lunar blend every month (also my favorites) on the day of the Full Moon and it only stays up for sale for about 2-3 days and there is a corresponding tee shirt to go with it. They're pretty cool shirts. I have several. I get the babydoll Vneck.

Hello fellow "hardcore fitness maniacs",

Would you mind if I joined in? I've been reading your posts almost everday, and would love a forum where the people are just as hardcore as me. Plus, it'll help me with my workout accountability.

One thing I have a question on... you guys have mentioned P90x a few times. Is it worth the purchase? I'd say I'm a pretty advanced exerciser. Big runner. Probably workout between 1 to 1 1/2 hours a day. Usually it's a 5-6.5 mile run or Cathe cardio (KPC, Step, Hi/Lo) on cardio days, weights and minimal cardio warm-up on weight days, and one day off (which, incidentally is today). I've been reading over the beachbody.com website, and the P90x looks like its worth the challenge, but I don't want to use up my Cathe-spending bucks on something fair weather. Any suggestions?

Afternoon Maniacs (...as I drop down my cowboy hat)lol

I just got back from yard sales. Guessy what I found???? I got a Weider bench with all kinds of accessories attached to it for $20!!!!! I am so siked!!!!! I can do bicep curls off it, leg curls, pec flyes and there is some grip bar off back that is used for something so I gotta figure that one out. Will be moving anyways so I will have room for it in the new basement, but for now, I have to make room. lol. Sometimes DH workouts and is using the bench with the leg curls and I have to wait for him to get done, this way I don't have to wait. The best feature is for the bicep curls!!!!! It is slightly rusty and a 1/2" tear to the seat of bench, BUT WHO CARES cuz I am gonna sweat all over it too!!!!! lol

I am gonna try this out this afternoon so not sure what workouts of Cathe I will do, just go on my own with this for today, I suppose.

I have been really busy lately and I decided to do some ebay so between that and everything else, have not been able to talk to you all as much.

I bought some new Tattoo tops. They are denim. I will send you a picture of them probably on Monday cuz DH will be on the computer ALL weekend long and I don't get to get on much during that time.

I am just so impressed at how much you are moving along lately. I know you got to be eating your wheaties or something. I mean some of the weights are just outstanding!!!! You go girl! Rock it and destroy it!!!!!

Whenever I feel like I am not as motivated on some days, I just think of you and so it is like you are pushing me to go further by just reading what you do all the time. I don't know if you know this or not, but you have no idea how much you have always inspired me.

Good afternoon,
This morning I did Low Max with my weighted gloves and adding on combination 6 so it was an hour of cardio, then I did Muscle Max Timesaver, No warm up, abs or stretch, on to MM Lower premix no w/up.This made Muscle Max 56 minutes w/o the w/up. Not sure what we will be doing this weekend. We will celebrating my birthday Sunday at my DD house. We are having Lasagne so there will be no clean eating there:)

Charlotte, thanks so much:) I was feeling really un motivated myself this morning. Once I got going though I did good. The bench sounds like a great find. Let us know what the other bar is for when you figure it out. Enjoy trying it out.

Welcome to the Fitness fanatics DB I am glad you could join us:) I have P90X and have done a 90 day rotation with it. It is a great series. Not the fun factor of Cathe IMO but great workouts and some different moves. It comes with a nutrition plan as well as several different types of rotations.

My picture's on the website for the radio station in town that was at the Buckcherry concert. I look mad cuz the girl in front of me had her hair up in a bun and it kept going in my mouth........ewwwwwww.

Charlotte - what kind of bicep curls can you do on the bench? Is it the preacher attachment? I thought you had that already on the other bench? Man, you got an excellent deal on that, I am so jealous!!! Have fun with it, I'd be siked too! Also, thanks on the compliment of my weight lifting. I got a compliment today when I delivered my Avon to an office I go to, the lady at the front desk told me I looked REALLY toned. LOL! It was good to hear because people don't say much about my physique. Its good to know I'm not wasting my time.

I'm so excited! A week ago my sil gave me her mom's old treadmill. It needed a new belt so I ordered one. Of course I ordered the wrong size but today I just got the correct one. My dh installed it and its good to go! I cannot wait to try it tomorrow after my weight training. I'm going to get on it for 20 minutes and see how I do. How cool is that? I only paid $75 for it (belt cost)!! Woo Hoo!!!

I'll let you all know how I do on it tomorrow.
 
Hi Ladies - Well...I'm sitting here trying to convince myself to take a rest day tomorrow.....but it's not going over too well. Now, I'm thinking a little Rock Steady Step, abs and long stretch is like a rest day! LOL!

Well, I'm off to watch GH and lie on my Yamuna Balls. I've got some bad shoulder and neck spasms this week.

Off the leg curl part there is a attachment hook for a small bar, etc., which I have off our smith machine, so you basically just pull up the bar into a curl. You can add on as many plates as you can handle! lol.

Excellent deal for a treadmill. Gosh, it doesn't get better than that, huh?

And well of course people are taken notice of you, they may not always say something. You know, lately my motivation has been going into the toilet. I mean, I work out my arms as hard as I can, risking injury sometimes, and I can't seem to get not even a 1/4" increase. I know there has to be something out on the market besides steriods that could give me alittle boost. I just feel like no matter what rotation I go on, I am always going to be just *maintaining*. Got any ideas or any rotations that you think would benefit me?

Yes, physically I am feeling better. I guess working out with my son and dd's boyfriend makes me feel like crap. I mean, they get in there and I see muscle mass increase in just weeks since they both been training. MAKES ME SICK..SICK..SICK. I get my Oxygen magazine and there is a brief article about how some women are afraid to bulk up. I wanted to fall off my chair and laugh until I peed myself!!! How can this be???????? THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT is to BUILD..BUILD..BUILD, but it is not happening. So where has my motivation gone to, do you have it??? Can I have it back, please?

Hey ladies I wanna join the checkin.I often come here and read this checkin only.
I will first start with what I have done all week.
sun-a very heavy circuit (sjp but using heavy wts for8-10 reps resting while cathe completes)
mon- 2 mile tempo run
tues- kickmax(at home) and power cut(endurance workout at the gym)
wed-hill repeats for 20 min.
thur-pyramid upper two sets total -1 set very heavy 3-5 reps one set 8-10 reps(meaning I only did 2 sets per body part with rep scheme above)push pull lower medium wts
fri-interval run
sat?
sun-start over
I hope the way I described makes since. I only do 2-3 sets per body part on my heavy days which are two of three workouts per week.
Toasty what are you talking about -I remember when you came here and I see a good bit of muscle growth from then to now.keep at it girl.you are one kick a@@ mom.
 
Charlotte - are you eating enough protein? I'm sure you are, but I have to ask. Also, do you take anything like aminos or any other supplement. I hear people have great results using creatine but it can be dangerous if you stop using it. Not sure on all the details but it has something to do with building muscle and then when you stop taking it the muscle breaks down fast. Not sure how accurate that is. Aminos work well for me, and they help my muscles heal faster.

Also, I hate to say this, but I think you are overtraining. This is one reason I started doing the full body workouts. You do only 6 exercises a day, three days a week, but you do them with the heaviest weight to complete all sets to almost failure. I'm telling you, I've seen growth already and I'm only 1/2 way done with the program. It was really hard to get use too because I love doing one body part a week and will go back to that again, but this change has really gotten my body up in arms. I'm sore all the time. If you are interested in the program, let me know and I'll forward the link to you.

You may be right. I am not sure my eating has been as much as it should or could be lately cuz of being so busy. I got to get back on track. Would you use creatine and protein mix together then? I have the amino's in the protein powder, would I need more?

Send me the link. Been thinking of doing a full body workout lately anyhow. Read my mind.

RE :I didn't put the frowning face in my post at kickmax.I don't know what is up with that.
I wanted to add that me and Debbie are on the same type of training program 3 full bodys per week.And I am loving it seeing great results .What about you Debbie?I visit bodybuilding furums 2-3 times a week and always check on your journal.

Toasty I know what you mean -I have been running with my 14 year old son he is playing football.Three months ago I would have left him in the dust running but now he smokes me.I have just started back into running but instead of getting discouraged it has pushed me to train harder.And I also wt train him and there I do leave him in the dust;-) It just sucks to get old(er).
