Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Finally Friday Feb 8

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did Iron Core Vol 1 with Sarah Lurie followed by Star Trainers Strength Segment with Rob Glick. I fastfowarded thru the breaks on Iron Core, as I didn't need them. I ended up using my 15, 20 and 25 lb KBs and found it to be a bit easy. I think I need a couple heavier ones, but I'm broke....so it's not gonna happen yet. The reps are so low on some exercises that you can go super heavy. I even found myself doing swings with the heavier bells already. It was fun ....just not HARDCORE enough for me. Maybe I was in some sort of mental zone.....was listening to Chili Peppers Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magick. Workout was 70" and I burned 453 calories. I hope I get sore tomorrow.

Have a great workout ladies.

Lisa - what pound KB's do you use at the Gym for Swings, etc.? I really can't afford to keep buying them....but I don't think 25 is heavy enough already! I'm no longer afraid of the KB's.....just need to be careful with my shoulders like I have to with other weight training.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

I am sick now. My kids gave me their cold. How sweet of them. x( I am gonna murder it..I CANNOT be sick!

Today I have plyo's..so yeah, cannot be sick! I got to do my ab work too. Many errands and stuff to do today. Won't be on much.

Have a great workout!

That is all...

Char - Hope you feel better soon! That sucks!

Debbie,

I cannot believe the weights you are doing on these! That is amazing as heck! BTW, thanks! I think I might need to get jacked up on caffeine to do the plyo's later. So far I don't feel bad, but I got alot of errands to do too and that is always tiring. Just gonna make myself do it even if I look like a clown doing plyo's half ass. lol.

Did IMax2 this morning. I really, really loathe interval 1 and 8. They're the most boring moves on earth. Other than that, I feel worked out. Just very tired from lack of sleep this week. I don't know what the problem is. I now have a black toe nail. Not sure if it's from running or banged it while sleeping. Hurts like h*ll though. Off to take a shower to wash the stink off. I think I killed some squirrels with my stink already. :)

Lora- The most I use is 35. How many reps are you doing? Also, is your kettlebell rubber or steel? The ones I use at the gym are steel. You know those black ones? They have those in dumbbells, too. The rubber ones feel lighter than the steel ones. The swings, you can go heavy but if you are going to do the overhead swing like Double Kettlebell Snatch, I wouldn't go heavy as you have to lean forward as your hands go somewhat behind your head. That can hurt your shoulder. The move is in the list I sent to you last night. Have you tried any of the ab moves from the list? My fav. are Figure 8 and AOS.

Char- Hope you feel better soon. Murder that cold! I work out anyway when I have a cold unless it's in my chest badly. Feel better!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Lisa:)

Question for you guys....Do you know of any good parapen-free shampoo and conditioner? I normally use Bumble and Bumble but most of them have parapen in it. I hate cheap shampoos you buy at the drug store. They make my hair look like a rat's nest. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello chickies.. How are ya all..
Life is throwing some curves here, so i have not been around..

No workouts for a few more weeks then slowly back in the game..
Miss you all.
Char, get better soon.
Deb, you are kickin butt as usual.
Diane Sue,did i hear cinnamon roll???
Suz, you back to training? Don't wither away on us..
Dallys, miss ya.. Sent you a haircut...Gotta do that to one of the pups..
Randi and all i missed . HElLO OUT THERE!!!

Try Nexus Phyto Organics. Best shampoo on the market. Does not eat my hands using it all day washing. Any other kind kills me. If it eats your hands, eats your hair..

Take care all. Not working this week , so i am bored and here playing..

Morning Maniacs,

Today was full body with three sets of fifteen.

Back
Incline Pullovers
15/15/15 - 40#

Chest
Incline Dumbbell Fly
15/15/15 - 30's (wanted to cry by the end of this one - I was toast)

Quads
Squats
15/15/15 - 85# (felt good, went to pare11e1)

Biceps
Incline Dumbbell Curls
15/15/11 - 20's (won't be going up much with these, I was cooked)

Triceps
Overhead Extension
15/15/15 - 30#

Shoulders
Lateral Raise
15/15/15 - 15's

Did 3 minutes of jump rope last night so I figured that took care of my calves. Ran out of time for abs.

Debbie - Great workout, girl! BTW, do you use a dumbbell for incline pullovers?

Lisa - Welcome! And your comment about Imax2 made me laugh. I hate Interval 3, hopping on one foot is boring and it goes on forever!

Well, off to school and music class!

Hey Storm!

Good to see you. Thanks for asking about my training. I checked in yesterday. So you can see what I'm doing training-wise. As I mentioned, my training is pretty boring around here so I'm not checking in regularly. Plus I'm so busy at work these days and it takes a long time to read and check in. But I do pop in now and then to read what everyone is up to. Sometimes it's only once a week, but it's fun.

Have great workouts everyone!

Hi Suz - I've missed you. Please try to stop in more often.

Charlotte - You CAN"t get a cold in the middle of X+!!!!

Lisa- Have you ever tried Lush shampoos www.Lush.com and conditioners? I don't know if they are Paraben free but they are organic and hand made ....so I'm assuming. I like their hair products. I would tell you what I like, but I have dry, processed, curly, frizzy hair....and you'd buy according to your hair type. I love their shampoo bars and they have solid conditioners too. Also, I've used hair products from www.oyinhandmade.com that are honey based and organic and lastly, www.prarielandherbs.com has shampoo bars but I don't think they have a conditioner. I haven't had time to look at the email you sent yet....will look at it later or this weekend. So glad it's Friday! The reps in that workout were only like 6-8....maybe 10 tops. Didn't seem like enough. Maybe I need harder DVDs. Everyone says Newport is killer by Art of Strength....but it's $50! I might have to get it though! My KB's are not rubber...they are iron but coated with a colored coating. I'm thinking of returning one for a heavier one....but the thing is ....I could use the lighter ones for shoulder moves, etc. Why do they have to cost so much??

It has been a busy day here. The plumber came and left to get a part and came back. My son stayed for awhile and was visiting. Tried to get some work done so I can get back to the yard. I finished off my workout.

Suz, good to hear from you again. You really do have a good workout plan. I bet you are really looking forward to getting outside more. I cannot imagine it in the cold though.

Lora, I have wondered about those K-bells. I think Amy said they used 15's in her K-bell workout. I would imagine it would depend on the speed of the workout and moves just like with free weights.
I think the Iron Core 1 is supposed to be a starter workout isn't it??

Lisa, I had the same idea as Lora for Lush shampoo and conditioner. I use it and it works great. Once in awhile I end up back at the salon for a purchase. It takes awhile for Lush products to get here. Anne, has some great advice too. She knows hair products. You should listen to her, it would probably be a lot easier than mail order:)
