Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for Finally Friday April 4

Morning Maniacs -

This morning I decided to give Sarah Lurie's Vol 2 Iron Core Kettlebell workout a chance. I added kickboxing moves during the rest periods and even extended some of her short sets to make it a bit harder, but it was still too easy for me. I added Around the Body Passes, Sling Shot Catches & Hot Potatos to the end of the workout. I even used from 15-35 lb KBs. Workout was 61 minutes and I burned 517 calories.

I'm going to have to price 40 lb KB's as I'll need one soon.

Toasty - I know all about being hard on yourself. I'm VERY hard on myself about everything from job to weight and everything in between. People think I'm nuts when I say I'm trying to lose weight but I'm sure if you ladies all saw me, you'd agree I need to lose!! Most people that tell me I don't need to lose weight aren't all in that great of shape....so I don't even listen. Now, if a personal trainer or body builder told me I didn't need to lose weight, I'd listen to them....but I KNOW they never would.

Diane Sue - I just got my new Kelly Coffey DVD. I'll keep you posted. It looks decent. Low reps....yeah!!! How long have you been exercising each day to increase your appetite? What sorts of foods to you eat as "extras" when you get famished? I need ideas. I'm PMSing and I get REALLY REALLY hungry this time of the month. I've been having to eat larger meals with hardly any snacks since i started this new job. I think I get so hungry cuz I go so long without eating and eat too much at dinner. I usually have to take my lunch at 11:30 and I don't get home and ready to eat dinner until around 7:00 give or take. Sometimes I'll eat an apple in the car on the way home...but for the most part, I don't eat all afternoon. My body's not used to that either. I also can't drink enough water cuz I can't be away from the front desk when we're seeing patients. I just got over my 2nd bladder infection since I started working there from not drinking enough water.

Toasty - forgot to tell you that the Burt's Bees stuff is available at Walgreen's......and I don't think many other Drug stores carry it.

Today is 4DS back and bi's,abs. My legs are so sore this morning but a good sore}( I'm so tired better start getting ready to workout

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Today is Chest/Tri's and 300 cal burn on elliptical. I have errands to do and finish cleaning this house so I will busy. My arms are still very sore and my legs have finially thawed out. I am melting the little bit of fat..I can feel it. My stomach is like pacman eating it off. lol.

You make me smile. I know what you mean when you have people that are not in good shape tell you that you look fine...it goes out one ear and out the other. On the other hand, if one of us tells you that you look fine, then you better believe it! I think your rockin!
Well don't have a Wal Greens around here. You forget I live in a town that doesn't even have a traffic light. lol. I will get it though.

You know you must be happy then if your legs are sore. I know you like to be sore and so it must be a good day for you! lol
 
Char Good for you!! LOL, Pacman!! I know I love being sore, I know I worked my ass off the day b/4. I just finished 4DS LIS abs, 4DS back and bi's then B&G stability ball abs. My abs havent been sore lately so I think i'm going to try to fry them when I work them}(
Lora I'm the same way as you. When people tell me I look good it does go in one ear and out the other. I am so hard on myself, which I think us Hardcore Maniacs are!!}( Is that crazy?
 
Morning Maniacs. I think I saw the scale "budge" in the right direction lol. But I am trying to take Deb's advice about being patient. I should just be pround that I can make it thru a WO like Imax 3 and survive after being on such a long hiatus lol! It's coming tho, and the eating is better each day.

Not sure what I am doing today. I might wait a bit to see if the X comes in teh mail today. But, I would like to do a weight WO, but I don't want to be sore when I start the X. So I haven't decided. May be a TM day too. Or both! I am still waking up. Gotta find some more time to sleep. Lawd, I just wish I had a normal day job.

Char- must better attitude you seem to have today. Good for you! Thanks for the pic comments! Very happy- absolutely. So nice!

Lora- That is amazing about that lotion you got. SOunds good. I want to start taking care of my skin now. I use lotion on my body daily, but don't take care of my face enough.

My EATS for today:

Meal 1: 3 jumbo scrambled eggs with slice of cheese
Meal 2: Tuna Fish and Yogurt (I need the yogurt for my breath)
Meal 3: Meat: Chicken or some other, salad or broccoli
Meal 4: Protein Shake mixed with natural peanut butter (just a bit) and flax seed
Meal 5: Tuna Fish and sugar free jello, mint tea
Meal 6: Water Protein Shake

That's right, girlfriend....you should be proud of yourself for getting thru Imax 3. I never tried that one, but I know it is superkillerlicious! Shows you still got fighting spirit which I already knew about you anyhow.

Yes, my mood is lifted. I am rejoicing!:p
 
I started my workout with Sharon Twombly's All Body Attack CIA , then I did Step Jump and Pump step only and the weights only add on 19 minutes, and finished with SJP Stretch. I have to go to dh work today for an open house.

Lora, I have increased my workout time this week. I have only been doing the heavy weight low rep workouts two weeks. It was not to bad with Slo Mo but Slow and Heavy are long workouts and if I want to get in an hour of cardio and stretching it takes a lot of time. I usually try to keep it around 2 hrs total or slightly more. 1 day this week was 2 hr 45 min. I think if I lowered the cardio I probably would not be so hungry. My extra calories have mainly come form plain yogurt with whey protein and general foods international coffee decaf sugar free in it, a few shrimps, tuna. I snack on salads a lot. I also have been having some egg white scrambles with spinach,mushrooms, and non oil packed sundried tomatoes in the mornings. I made tapioca pudding in the microwave with splenda and light soy milk and stirred protein powder in it but found I ate to much of it so quit making it.

Charlotte, I had to laugh about the Pac Man. I could invision it eating away at fat LOL

Lora, I forgot to mention I have been looking at Kelly's new workouts but was not sure about the weights. I like her for cardio. Reading the description at Advanced Workouts I thought I might be able to go heavier with it. I am waiting for my new Sharon Twombly Dvd to get hear. Have you done the bonus workout on it with the ball?? It sounds like it is mostly cardio to me. I am trying to figure how I will work it in next week:) Hope Tracey's are shipped soon.

Today was legs. My Leg Press was shipped but I haven't received it yet. Darn it!!! I really wanted to use it for today's workout. Oh well.

Had a great workout but I hate working legs. It is my most dreaded day. Weights weren't too heavy, I wanted to concentrate more on form then weights.

1 minute rest between each set (I just wanted to get this workout over with)

Leg Pres (Step Ups):

[font color=blue]***This was suppose to be 4 sets but since I did 4 sets for squats I knocked on off of this exercise.[/font]

Hack Squats:
75# - 8/8/8/8
[font color=blue]***Should have went higher with this exercise.[/font]

[font color=indigo]HAMSTRINGS[/font]
Elevated SLDL's:
75# - 10 (warmup)
95# - 8/8/8
[font color=blue]***Was suppose to be 4 sets but my low back was really feeling these.[/font]

[font color=indigo]CALVES[/font]
Barbell Calf Raises:
105# - 30 (warmup)
125# - 20/20/20
[font color=blue]***Last set I did with toes turned out. These felt good, got a great burn.[/font]

I decided to do Supersets. That one is fun. I love the seesaw tricep pushups! They burn!!
I gotta shower then eat. Gotta work till midnight tonight. Yay...not.

I am back from open house at dh work. There were a lot of people. Cake, cookies, and punch. I was sure tempted with those peanut butter cookies :9 Didn't eat any though. Just had lunch which was a large salad. I was getting pretty hungry since I only had a protein shake this morning. I got my Sharon Twombly Athletic Step Jam which I am previewing.

Charlotte, that top is cute. Purple ia my favorite color:)
