Hardcore Fitness Maniacs checkin for Fri. Feb. 16th

Morning ladies.Maniacs and all lurkers.
I feel like i am new to working out again.I am in a little pain here. Good DOMS though...Legs were feeling flabby in a stinkin month. Can you believe it?
Tonite is cardio only . I am going to try to do 1 hr on the treadmill.Think i will do the 3 # weights w/ it. I can always st them in the cup holders if it gets too hard.I am shooting for 5-6 days again . Had my rest day on Wed, i think. Well one day this week.
My calendar has a write in for almost everyday.How cool...

Not ready for Cathe's treadmill w/o yet.Did you see that one on Open discussion. GULP!!!I will know i am doing good when i can do that one...Someday,yeah.

Ab help. I can't use much of the UB yet?It pulls. Got any ideas. I did the leg curls w/ the med ball. That was ok...Any others???

MOrning Maniacs -

This morning I did Jari's Get Ripped 1000 and Hip Hop Abs Total Body Blast followed by Eion Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness...Quickie premix. Workout was 1 hour 45 minutes and I burned 560 calories. Talk about false adverstisement.........the cover of Jari's workout says "Burn 1000 Calories in 1 Workout".......don't believe that one.

Have good workouts.

Hey Hey Maniacs!!!

Slept with a friggin' stiff neck and could hardly raise my neck to get out of bed. I think I know what I did....did curls off stability ball, the way Cathe does them with one arm, while sitting on ball. Had arms angled wrong is what I figure. It will have to work its way out. I do have yoga planned today so that would help alot, I would think.

I am not sure what to tell you with abs as it might not be the right thing for you. There is a Abs Diet book out that has tons of ab work you can do in there. Diane Sue has the book too.

Burn up the treadmill. Smoke it, girl!

I hope your not eating Count Chocula or something like that. lol. I have been eating Kelloggs High Protein Plus cereal. Sometimes go back to Oatmeal.

Morning Maniacs! I'm off to take the dog for a walk this morning. Should be fun! It's lightly sprinkling outside.:) I have a cookie hangover and am not interested in eating anymore anytime soon! It's good food from here on out.

Debbie-Have fun on the treadmill. Still enjoying all that snow!:)

Meg- Don't choke on that cereal!

Anne- I have Cathes treadmill workout taped on my treadmill. I tried in one time as written and there is no way I can do it. I'd have to really lower those speeds and well..almost change everything else. LOL!

Char- Dang! Not a sore neck? Hope it doesn't last to long. I would think that yoga would loosen it up a bit.

Gotta go walking, before time runs out...........

Dallys- Happy Belated B-day -- meant to tell you yesterday, but then I forgot. Glad you had a good time eating cookies!!

Charlotte- what did you do to your neck?

Meg - The cardio is nothing spectacular in that workout. The intervals aren't long enough to really get your HR that high (at least not for me). Highest mine went was in the 140's. Then she sort of cools down after each move and stretches....which I didn't care for. I could make it harder next time by going a bit longer on the cardios and not stretching, etc...that's what I did last time. I have to listen to my own music whenever I do her stuff also. I followed Diane Sue's advice and followed the man's weights to try to get a better workout, as I never lift heavy enough with Jari's cuz I don't know who to follow with weight selection. I'm used to following Cathe or Amy....as I know if I need to lift more or even with them.

Deb & Meg - GH is gonna EXPLODE today!! I wonder who will die. I think Alan will for one. Not sure who else, although we all know Jason is gonna get hurt, right???
 
This morning I decided to do the Press Play workout from Cardio Coach. I LOVE THIS WORKOUT! Very challenging and I felt I did really good with it today. Kind of hard getting my HR up again but I'm getting better at it with the hills and such. The first challenge is 10 - 1 minute alternating hill climbs and sprints with 1 minute rest between each. Its tough. I have to raise my incline to 10 and my speed to 4 to get into my zone 3 HR. Those hills are brutal and I really feel it in my glutes and hamstrings.

Workout was 1.12 was in my zone for 59 minutes and I burned 405 calories! Whoo Hoo!!!!! Travelled 4.02 miles.

Anne - I did see that cardio workout on the Open Discussion. I don't think so. I'd die doing that one!

Char - Sorry to hear about your neck. That sucks. Hope it eases up soon.

Dallys - Cookie hangover? LMAO! Hey, try to download "Evil Angel" by Breaking Benjamin. Its a good one too. Yes, still loving the snow! Happy Birthday by the way!

Lora - I didn't see yesterday's show yet, I'm going to watch yesterday and todays together. This show is so good. I'm going to be bummed when this storyline is over.

Lora- I am going to miss it this afternoon, so I will catch it on Soapnet tonight!! I can't wait! I am sure Liz's baby's paternity is going to come out soon too. I hope they don't kill Alan. I just like having some of the old timers on the show. One thing that bugged me, Robin has HIV. Did you notice how everyone seemed to have her blood on them? Did anyone mention the HIV thing and I missed it? Know what I mean? Just thought it was odd.

Hey Maniacs! Finished my workout. Did intervals of walking and running. Burned 321 calories, traveled 3 1/2 miles, workout was 40 min. It was pure Bliss. I went without an Ipod. I listened to the rain lightly falling, birds chirping, that great sound of car wheels on wet road. Loved it! There is a nice hill that I love to run that is probably a 10% grade. It's the only part with alot of traffic. Of course this is where Carma decided to do her business and play sled dog...Mush! I can tell you, it's going to be hard to workout in the basement now that the weather is changeing. Here is a couple of pictures of us. I still can't shed my nerdiness. LOL!

Bionics and her Bionic dog...

Like the pictures and your nerdiness too. So you had a grand ole' time. I like running in the rain and jumping thru the puddles...still a big kid. Too much ice here still for any kind of outdoor stuff for now. Looks like 50's coming next week. That will be a big change.

Dallys - nice pics - your dog is beautiful. What kind is he/she?

Has anyone here ever done a Joyce Vedral or Cory Everson weight lifting DVD/tape? Just curious. I've heard some good and bad things about both of them. Heard Cory's Get Hard- Arms was a great arm workout.

Toasty - did you ever do that arm workout you bought your husband a while back? Can't remember the name of it.

OMG..NO! That Animal Pak cd was just a self love ego show of a man doing his own thing. It wasn't a workout for dh like I thought it was gonna be. I was like..WTH? I thought I was vain, but apparently not compared to the dude on the dvd. The guy on the dvd's arms are so enormous, they looked deformed.

And yeah, my neck has always given me problems at times. Was from doing the one arm curls off stability ball. Tony just bends over and does it, but I use the ball instead. Just think I had my arm positioned incorrectly.

Meg - You're gonna love that one. I just know you will. It gets into all the right spots of people who work out as hard as we do. I was a little put off when I first saw the title with No Sanskrit, No Granola, etc. cuz I thought what's wrong with Sanskrit (which I actually like to learn).....and then I did it and loved the different "modernish" music and it sort of reminded me of P90X cuz of the class of athletes.....but it's one of my new fave's. Glad you were surprised.

Toasty - that's right...Animal Arms....how could I forget!! That's funny. Take care of your neck. Mine seems to get strained from that same move!
 
Got my workout in. I did KPC stopping at the abs, did the M&F Hers rotation adding biceps curls and calf raises, then Amy's Abs #1 and KPC abs and stretch. I have my grandson here I have been getting him his medicines and we did the nebulizer again this morning. He seems pretty active so that is good(I think).

Debbie, I got the M&F magazine today. Thanks:D I will send you money for mailing it. I skimmed over it. It does look like a good rotation. I have 3 weeks left on the one I am on and I think I will try this one. I like changing the workout each week. The one I have been doing changes every two weeks. I can use the Bowflex for some of the moves.

Dallys, are you getting over the cookie hangover? :)

Got to run. I promised my grandson we would play a game before we went to get the other children.

I was gonna workout and do yoga, but I am not feeling too well. My neck and shoulder is really bothering me and now I am crampy from Aunt Flo and my arms feel like the muscle fibers are ripped to hell and extremely sore also. I am a mess. I know I could be tough and just get thru it, but I think I would do better after some rest. I may have to just add in yoga on top of my other workout tomorrow.

Hey Maniacs! Lunch time here.:) Apple and some yogurt. I'm not eating much cuz I'm going out to eat again with Mom and Sisters later. I made a typo on my calorie burn this morning. It read 231 not 321. Not sure how accuate it was because it was a reading from my pedometer. Sounds fairly accurate to me though. Have to bid on ebay at exactally 1:45 so I'm all wound up!:)

Debbie- I'll check out that song! I have that workout, but haven't done it yet. Sounds like a good one.

Diane Sue- I honestly think I had a cookie handover, lol. I ate about 8 yesterday! You know, the sugar cookies with the pink frosting. How could I not? }(

Meg- AMC is driving me nuts! Who is the killer and how can Babe or Dixie come back to life?

Lora- My dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback.

Char- I know you'll be out when it warms up next week. It's so nice to run/bike/walk outside!

Diane Sue - I'm glad you got the magazine finally. Please don't send me the postage, its not a big deal. Check out week #11, when I read it I was like, what's the point? Each week has a different way to do these workouts, its cool but week 11 just has me wondering why? Maybe recovery?
