Morning Fitness Maniacs -
This morning I only did a half hour of Bosu Blast on my new Bosu and Eion Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness Premix "Quickie Workout" (1/2 hour). I probably should have done longer but I was short on time and needed to get some laundry and other stuff done this morning. I figure an easier day won't kill me since I don't take any full rest days.
The Bosu is harder than it looks. My HR was in the 140's and 150's and I wasn't even pushing hard, as I was having a difficult enough time balancing on top of the thing. The hardest thing was running on top of it.....and I was flying all over. It was fun though. I won't go into too much detail cuz I know nobody else has a Bosu but I will say that I immediately felt my low back and legs working really hard to stabilize my body as soon as I hopped on the thing! I think it will take some practice, but I'm gonna like it cuz it's bouncy and gets your heartrate up.
To continue the yoga debate ......and yes Marietta, I'll keep staying on you to try your Bryan Kest tapes! Do them on a weekend after your run and you'll be amazed what a release that is at the end of a hard work and workout week.
Seriously though, I think the same way most of you do about yoga, but for me, after I began doing it on the weekends, I kind of look forward to it and force myself to do it cuz I know it's so good for me. Also, with my mental problems, depression and being a recovering addict and all, I think it's a positive thing in my life. I also like the healing aspect of it. I tend to have way too much chatter in my head most of the time from my disease and a couple times a week, it feels good to clear the chatter, stretch out, massage my internal organs and tone my body in a functional way that makes me better able to handle my tougher workouts.
Have great workouts. Work continues to be very stressful and busy....so I doubt I'll be able to check in until after hours. See everyone later! Have a great day.
ETA:
Netta; Eion has a new DVD coming out next month. It's a yoga DVD that will have premixes on it like PY4H! I can't wait. Yes, I'm 47 also and need more flexibility training these days also. Yoga has helped with my sciatica and piriformis spasms that I get from high impact cardio and has been helping me to handle the impact better.
