Morning Fitness Maniacs -

I had a restless night. Up and down all night and couldn't sleep well. I ended up doing P90 Masters Sweat 5-6 (listening to my Buckcherry CD) for 40 minutes and then I did Baron Baptiste's Core Power Live Yoga.

The Core Power Yoga DVD was a half hour and was a pretty decent short yoga workout. It, of course, had a lot of core work in it, but it wasn't as intense as Ana Forrest's Pleasure of Strength DVD.

Dallas - I believe you asked me where to get Ana's DVDs. They have them at www.FitnessOrganica.com , but I think I bought mine from her website for cheaper shipping www.Forrestyoga.com.

Diana Sue - how's your daughter

Hi to everyone else.

Has anyone tried the new Diet V8 Splash Berry Blend? It's really good after a hard cardio workout and only 10 calories per serving. I can't drink citrus juices cuz of my reflux problems, so I really like this splash! It's very refreshing. Just thought I'd share.

Lora ~ Thanks for the link. You and my ds3 could have hung out last night! ;) I don't think we got one solid hour of sleep last night. He was fine during the day. I think it may be an ear infection. Boy, did that come on fast, if so. He's of course snoring away right now. I feel like a zombie. :-(

Diane Sue ~ Yep, it's field trip time. I have two more coming up! :) How is your dd holding up?

No workout yet. I'd like to squeeze something in after the generator people leave, my ds doc's appt and pt. ha ha Doesn't look likely...:-( Now this is why I get up early. I just couldn't today.

Good morning all! This morning my rotation called for Cardio Kicks, but I'm staying away from kickboxing for a while because I screw up my low back everytime I do it. Instead I did Step Works. What an excellent workout this one is, I was sweating like crazy! I used two sets of risers for the first two step sections, then dropped to one set for the third. Loved it! My HR was up the whole time. I was in my zone for 46 minutes and burned 310 calories!

I'll check in later to see what everyone is doing today! Have great workouts!!!

Lora-I couldn't sleep last night either (of course most nights I don't anyway--lol). I hope you sleep better tonight.

Dallas-Sorry your son has an ear infection. I hope he sleeps better tonight. My boys never slept when they had one either. It hurt them to lay down. Hope you find time to workout. I never did find time yesterday. To much to get straightened back up after the trip. I still have tons of laundry to get done. ICK!

Not sure what I will get in today. I need to head over to the track to train. I also have to work 1-5 today. Client Ed has some things to take care of and will get back to me by the end of the week one way or another. UGH! I hope things work out for him and I get to write the offer. I thought for sure I would be and now I am not sure. I hate that!! I got my B-12 shot in the butt yesterday. I hope it perks me up.

My ex-step-dad (lol)and his girlfriend (even though he wouldn't say she was) came by to see the boys yesterday and give them their Easter and he told us he was getting married. I was happy for him. My mom told me "don't even think about it". She doesn't think I should have anything to do with him. He has not treated her the best in the world with things but I think that is between them. Now she is mad because I am considering going to the wedding in Oct. What do you ladies think? Sorry for the long post!
 
Hello Ladies,

Another gorgeous day here in Denver. I will be hiting the park for a run. Today is also leg day. Debbie do you have any good mish mosh leg workouts? I really enjoyed the upper body one yesterday :) Anyone feel free to let me know what leg pre-mix workouts that you like.

Dave came by yesterday as he had an interview in Denver. Let's hope he gets this one!


Sabrina-Well was your ex step dad always nice to you? And exactly how mean was he to your mom? I can see both sides to this. If he was good to you and your kids and you care about him Icould see you wanting to go. I can also see why your mom would be upset if you were hanging out with someone who was mean to her. I guess I would need more details. I know for me and Dave we don't keeppeople in our lives if they treated either him or me like crap.

Dallas and Lora-I hope you get some rest. I also hope your son feels better soon Dallas.

Debbie-Thats too bad kickbox hurts your lower back. I love kickbox which is funny as I use to hate it!

Terri-Not mean as in physical. He does things and says things just to make her mad. He was always nice to me and he is nice to the boys too. Mom is the one that left him and she already had a boyfriend when she left. I imagine that really hurt him too and he probably is bitter. He was more like a father than my real father was(I have not talked to my real father in years). My mom and ex stepdad were married 23 years and I know she wants me to have nothing to do with him, at all. My brother talks to him too. Does that help?

Have a nice run in the park Terri. I wish I had a nice park to run in. I can't decide if it is going to rain here or not. It doesn't say anything about it online but it sure looks like it might outside. lol

Sabrina then knowing all that I say go for it! And don't feel guilty. He was like a father to you and was not the bad guy in the marriage from what your saying. Your mom left him. Go and have a great time!

Sabrina ~ I would go to the wedding, if you have a healthy relationship with your step dad. I've been in so many "bad" family situations. So-and-so isn't talking to this person, and so on. I hurts my brain trying to keep it straight. So, I keep relationships that work for me and my family. You know? I can see your mom's point of view, however.

Debbie ~ Those look like some good mish-moshes. I'll have to make a note for future reference (Hopefully, near future ;-) ).

My ds seems fine right now. I don't know what to do about the doc. I definitely don't want another night like last night. Poor little guy.:-(

Well I figured out why I wasn't sleeping good the last few nights...shouldn't have been drinking Diet Dr. Pepper before going to bed...geez, that wasn't too smart of me, huh? Plus I have restless legs and they just twitch alot before I go to sleep. Hubby says I should have starred in the movie..."Tremors". LOL!

So do you often get a B-12 shot in the butt? Never heard of this as something that is routine?

You are not your mom so you do what is best for Sabrina...that is my opinion about going to the wedding. No reason she should be mad at you for going, and if she is, she will get over it.

Charlotte-This was my first B-12 shot. The doc wants to do them for the next 6 months. I figure it can't hurt nothing so why not.

LOL on the Diet Dr Pepper! I don't think that was a good idea either. Hope you sleep better tonight.

I hope my mom won't get too mad when we go. Have to wait and see what happens in October. My mom has a boyfriend and they have been together for, well, since before she divorced my ex stepdad.

Dallas - Sorry to hear about your son's ear infection. My DD went through that too (as did I when I was young). It's tough. Dn't stress about the workout today. Take care of yourself.

Debbie - Step Works sounds like fun - may have to look into that.

Sabrina - Go to the wedding. If you don't, you'll regret it. I would also talk to your mom and let her know that while you love her dearly and respect her opinions, you feel this is what you need to do, and asking you to pick sides is simply not fair.

Terri - Oh go have fun with your run! How far today? Good luck to Dave, too! (Who'd Dave?)

Charlotte - that's funny about the soda before bed - I was drinking tea and couldn't figure it out... Sometimes I think the old brain is not engaging full time! :)

I did Yoga X this morning. I enjoyed it - and really liked Tony's instruction. I learned some new ways of moving into forms that really helped. But, it's too darned long. I don't really see the benefit of doing it every week when I can sub Rodney Yee or Bryan Kest and get the same benefits. So I'm switching my rotation from a Sun-Fri one to a Mon-Sat one - which works better for me. (Wed is my only day I can do a long morning workout).

I ate well last night and I feel good this morning. I'm so happy!
 
Good afternoon,
Today I did Turbo Jam Cardio Party and KPC Cardio, then GS Back, Shoulders and Biceps. I didn't have to go pick up from kindergarten today as my granddaughter is on a field trip. So I was able to get all of my workout in without saving some of it till I get back. My hamstring and hip feels much better today. I wondered how I would feel after GS legs. I did str. max#1 last night which I think was helpful. I am still waiting for my Maximum Turbo Jams. I ordered them on rush delivery the 7th. I have e mailed and had a live chat. They said they had a power outage one day. I cannont see that making them be that far behind. I am still being charged for rush delivery as well:(

Lora, my daughter is handling things real well. They changed her pain meds because she was too sleepy while trying to do her student teaching. She has a big test for teaching that she paid for and is taking Saturday. Her surgury is Monday.

Dallas, it sounds like you have had a lot of interruptions and are busy. I hope your son gets better.

Sabrina, I think if you want to go to the wedding then you should. I hate when someone makes me worry about offending them over something like that.

Christine, I did all of Yoga X but had to split it a lot of days to have the time to get it in and do cardio. I came up with an idea for using it that I intend to implement. I think doing Cardio X w/u yoga segment, then the floor stuff off of Yoga X would be a good workout and not near as long. Just an idea.

Do you do your cardio before weight training? How does that work for you? I do cardio after weight training because I'm usually to pooped to do lifting after cardio.
 
Hey everyone!

I have good news. I'm switching physical therapists. My dh has been bugging me to give this new girl a try. After what happened last week, I figured I have nothing to lose. She said if I don't see an improvement within three sessions she won't bill my insurance! :) She's even a tri-athelete. I love that! So, I'm not going to pt today, but will start fresh next week. I'm going to stick with just yoga today when dh gets home.

Christine ~ Dave is Terri's son. He's been looking for a new job. Is it too soon to ask how you're liking Tony? ;-)

Diane Sue ~ Your dd's going to school to be a teacher? Is she specializing in any subject. I'm certified to teach 6-12 in mathematics. Is she taking the basic skills test? She'll do just fine!

Must go finish de-cluttering for the big fat Greek Easter celebration this weekend!;-)

Dallas - thank you! I appreciate the info. I like Tony. He's a bit goofy, but I don't find him annoying. I have friends like him - chatty and kind of goofy, but fun to be around. I really do think that this is a well thought out program. I'm really impressed. Good luck with your new PT person. She sounds like she'll understand exactly what you're going through!

Terri - sorry I didn't know DS was Dave. GOOD LUCK to him! I hope he gets this one and likes it.

Diane Sue - Thanks for the suggestion on the yoga! I'll try that for sure. I think teaching is one of the most important jobs out there - I'll bet your very proud of your daughter!

I almost always do cardio before weights. I like my muscles to be good and warmed up before I start weight training. If I don't I always feel tight and stiff when I start weight training for the first few sets. It has worked fine for me.
