Morning ladies!!

I thought I would start the thread today since Lora is on vacation. I hope no one minds. I hope you are having a GREAT time Lora!!

What is everyone up to today?

I plan on training some more for the Race for the Cure and I also have an open house to host from 1-3 today in another city. I imagine I will get more yard work done today too.

Today I am going to work on my house, and getting my kids in the workout as well!! That it self will be a workout LOL. Yesterday I did Get Ripped and 20 min. of kickbox.


Sabrina last night I went for a run with my DD12:eek: I had to stop a couple of times. Boy I have not run in a LONG time. My DD wants to train me :D We are going to go a little farther tonight!! Good Luck with you open house!!

Diane Sue thanks for the tip on self tanner:) I am wanting to get the turbo jams. Do you think I should just go ahead and get the 1st set or the 2nd set. I really enjoy Cathes kickbox and kelly roberts 10 min. solution. Or should I get them both???

My DH is taking tomorrow afternoon off to get my ds recasted. My other son is having a all day treatment so I may not be here tomorrow. I will try and post at night if I get a chance.

Christine sounds like you had a wonderful day yesterday!! Wish I could have tagged along!!

Terri I am going to *try* and get a little reading inbetween my power clean today :D

Good Morning Beautiful Ladies!

I'm off for an 8 mile hike today with DH and the very fat dogs (we have not been hiking because of the rain, and the dogs show it!). The weather is supposed to be nice (doesn't look it right now, but the fog will burn off). Then it's busy playing catch up on all the things I didn't get to yesterday (groceries...)

Sabrina - How is the training for the Race for the Cure coming along? And I also think it's great you posted!

Nicole - good luck tomorrow! So you're doing Clean Max today, eh? It IS a good workout. I cannot wait 'til summer when we can fire the house cleaning service for a few months. They surface clean, and while the house LOOKS clean, I keep finding dust bunnies everywhere. I plan on really cleaning the house! But when I'm working, I have to have them otherwise I spend no time with my family.

Sabrina thanks for startingthis thread. When I go online this morning I wondered if someone would since Lora is ysually the early bird :) I am so excited for you and the Race. I know you are a bit nervous but you and Emily will do great!

Nicole-I too am thinking of getting the turbo jams. I need something different. So I will be anxious to see what Diane Sue says about them. It's also nice that you can make payments on the series. :) I need to do some power cleaning! Our weather is so nice again today but suppose to change tomorrow. :(

Today is Imax2 and some ab work. I may get a slim series workout in tonight. I will see how I feel!

Hi ladies! Sounds like everyone is off to a great start this morning! I ate terribly yesterday and woke up with a hangover-like headache and dizziness. Didn't feel like working out at all.

I ended up doing Body Max step and leg circuit. What an awesome workout! I was sweating like crazy. I used only one set of risers for the step section and then raised it to two risers for the leg circuit. I was in my zone for 44 minutes and burned 281 calories.

I was really dizzy afterwards and felt like I was going to pass out. I drank a lot of water and took a shower and now I feel pretty good other than this stupid headache. No more sugar for me!

This morning I got up and did a 2.25 mi. treadmill light run before church. I plan to go mess with the Yoga Booty Ballet that came with my Maximum Turbo Jam's and then some upper body workout or maybe I will just do the Turbo Jam Totally Tubular workout. I really liked Cardio Party 3. I previewed Yoga Booty Ballet Cabaret while on the treadmill this morning. I have to be out the door before 8 in the morning so don't think I will do anything unless I just happen to be up early. My daughter has to be there for her preop stuff at 8:15.

Terri and Nicole so far I am really liking the Turbo Jams. After the first set and enjoying them so much I thought I would get the second set for more intensity. The Maximum Turbo set uses tubing which they sent with them and optional weighted gloves. I don't have these. I held my jolies for some of the moves. I was a little afraid of injuring my shoulders or something. I looked them up and some places put a health risk warning on them. I used them on the slower segments. These so far are intervals w/ low intensity and then higher with Turbo blasts. As you progress through them the later ones have more high intensity in them. On the fisrt set I loaned out one of the dvd's after trying it. It was an explanation of the moves and a 20 minute workout and a sculpting workout which is the only thing I thought I might use but felt was light and basic. So of that set I recommend Cardio Party and Ab Jam. I love Cardio Pary 2, and so far from what I have done and viewed I highly recommend the Maximum Turbo set. Also the first set does come with a nutrition guide and stuff if you are interested in that. It has recipes as well and a 10 day weightloss start menu. You could order the Maximum set and the others individually.

Nicole, I hope all goes well with your sons tomorrow. At least you have your dh help.

Debbie, I know about eating poorly. With everything going on here I have eaten out more and been tired and just grabbed whatever was convenient. Last night my son bought food for all of us. It was nothing healthy. Smoked chicken, rolls and potatoes that were deep fried and honey drenched. Oh and Shrimp. No low fat low carb choice here. I ate shrimp and one chicken wing. Then DD comes in this afternoon with twizzlers and guess what I ate a lot. No breakfast of lunch just those. I will be out most of the day tomorrow so hopefully I do better. I am feeling majorly tired today.

Christine, I always felt that if I had someone come in and clean I would be following them around redoing stuff.

BTW has anyone else here had problems with leg cramps at night? The las few months I have had this happen a few times. Last night I was up walking around trying to walk one off. My daughter suggested maybe I was lacking magnesium. I looked and I did not see any in the Viactive that I had switched to. For a long time I took Origins Calcium and Magnesium supplement or Target as they had Calcium Gluconate in them. I went today and bought a magnesium supplement. My Multi vitamin does not have minerals as I have to be careful of getting to much iron.

WD your making me want the Turbo Jam workouts. I've heard a lot of good things about these workouts. Its really hard for me to break away from Cathe. I always feel like I'm not getting a great workout if I do someone else's workouts. Mental problem, I know.

You may need to add some minerals in your diet plan, magnesium and calcium are minerals, not vitamins. I take a mineral supplement I got from The Vitamin Shoppe called Amino Max by Kal. It has many minerals in it and helps with a lot of things. When you say that you have leg cramps, are you talking charlie horses? Those are horrible. I use to get them all the time but haven't in years, thankfully. Hope it gets better for you!

Diane Sue - I take calcium/magneseum (sp) supplements, and that makes a difference in my leg cramps. I used to get them pretty regularly. Now I usually only get them if I push REALLY hard and work my legs like on a super long, super tough hike, and then only if I bring my leg up too far, then it's thigh cramps. I hate those... I've also heard potassium helps...

Thanks for the input. Debbie does Amino Max have iron in it? That is my big problem, avoiding iron. It eliminates a lot. I did not have this problem till lately and yes they feel like a charley horse. I would walk around and as soon as I would try and sit down it would go right back to where it was. Interesting that it was the hamstring area that was hurting last week. I do feel like it may be related to the lack of some nutrients. Christine do you have any idea what caused yours?

Debbie, I know what you mean about not getting a great workout without Cathe. I have done this for years. First it was the FIRMS older ones, then Cathe. I did have a few that I hung onto in between. I guess I feel like Cathe is like, to videos what the Mercedes or Cadillac is to cars so to speak. I have gained so much from her. Turbo Jam is fun, I love the music. I feel it in my abs. When I previewed the first ones I liked the music so much I had to get up and move:)
I think I like it mostly for cardio and abs. These women have some awesome abs. I have primarily stuck with Cathe. I just think if I find something else to incorporate it helps add variety so things don't get stale and the body is still confused so to speak. I like P90X a lot but it will not replace Cathe. I will use it and incorporate it in between Cathe workouts. The thing is Cathe has some of almost everything to offer.

This afternoon I did Yoga Booty Ballet. Some of it is lower intenity cardio IMHO. I would not do this in front of the grandchildren. B ut I did have fun with it. I also did Turbo Jam T3 It was OK. I kept tightening my grip on the tubing to intensify but they do give the option of doing dumbbells or I could go dig out heavier resistance tubing. I did feel it in the biceps and triceps. I feel like this would be good to take on vacation or something as I have better weight workouts for a total body workout. It is only a little over 30 minutes with w/u & str.. Cardio Party 3 was great. I still have to do the other two cardios clear through. I will do them this week hopefully. I think from the portions I tried and viewing them that they will be excellent and fun cardio workouts.

WD- yes Amino Max has some iron in it. Can I ask why you can't take iron? Does it make you sick? If so, maybe you should take it with food? I'm sure you've tried this, just a suggestion.
