Morning Maniacs -

This morning I did CIA- Double Cardio - All Body Cardio workout with Sharon Twombly. I sort of wish I did straight weights now, cuz it was supposed to be a weighlifting day (heavy), but I wanted to try this.

This is led by Sharon Twombly. Never had her as instructor before. She is okay. Pretty likeable and professional. I didn't notice anything annoying about her and her cuing was decent. The workout itself was very athletic and I thought it was very innovative. The ab work was completely different than anything I own. I loved the athletic sports moves on this. I always tend to like those (funny - cuz I was no athlete in school and took years of dance while I was growing up). Here are the downsides of this workout - there was almost no stretch at the end and it is an advanced 75 minute workout....so I could have used something substantial. Also, I think we only did pushups (2 sets) for the chest and back (no lat rows or chest presses) and she did about 6 sets for shoulders. I thought the shoulders were never gonna end. I was wondering if we were going to do biceps and triceps. I even snuck a few sets in during the one shoulder series. She finally gets to them, but you only do one long burning, endurance set for both your biceps and triceps and then it's on to more ab work. Some of the ab work was with a weight held with your feet. Something else different about this workout was that they hold a riser and do aerobics with it. She says you can use a med ball if you don't have a riser and since I was using my Firm step, I used a med ball.

Toasty - Glad your neck is better. I was crazy busy at work yesterday and I'm having severe stomach problems....so I didn't get a chance to email you back yet. I'll try today, but it's pay day and I'm gonna be real busy again and my stomach is still messed up badly. I got the CDs last night. I just briefly ran thru the songs. I like the FlyLeaf! More after I listen to them. Yours should be arriving soon also.
 
Today is my very much needed rest day. I'll check in later to see what everyone is doing today! I have to deliver Avon, I usually start at 8 a.m. and get done about 4 p.m. but I come home for lunch. I have a lot of customers!

Lora - I like how you do different workouts from different instructors, I like your reviews. I'm looking into getting a couple Jari Love workouts - Get Ripped and Lean & Mean I think its called. They sound like excellent endurance workouts.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

I got so much to do today, it ain't even funny! My workouts today will be tough to fit in today, but I will manage. Got to do biceps/tri's/shoulders and plyo's. Lots of jumping and pumping up my legs!!!! Hubby is home today. Drinking his pencillin juice (GAKIC). LOL! He is behaving himself today. He asked me about doing ab work and cardio and I suggested Imax 2. We will see. Doubt he will do it though.

This morning I ran about 4.5 miles on my treadmill. Then I had to get myself ready for work...even though I was supposed to off today.

Lora - Thanks for the CIA information....I'll take a look at the web-site when I can.

Debbie - Enjoy your rest day...although all the running around you'll be doing delivering AVON may have to be considered a workout (smile).

Well...I've got a bunch of work to do. I'll try to check back in later.

Today, I did GS- back and shoulders. Never got to that ab work last night...too tired. I'm going down now for the treadmill, abs, and a much needed stretch! The PT has been really working my overall leg, so I'm giving them the day off. lol!

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!!:p

I just can’t believe how my luck has been! I put the baby to bed at 9pm and he slept straight through to 5 this morning. Yay! My boobs were like bocce balls, but so what! hahahaha

I did a 2.5 mile run and 100 walking lunges. I then did SH Triceps and Biceps.

Ab RipperX is in the DVD player now, but it'll have to wait about an hour or so before I can get to it.

Dallas, I'm glad your PT is working for you. Are you able to run?
btw, I had Oprah on when I saw your post yesterday, but couldn’t stay home to watch to whole show. I really wanted to.

Debbie, I recently got a sunscreen for babies from Avon as a gift. As soon as we get a warm sunny day, I'll use it on my little guy.

Marietta, have a great weekend! I'm glad you're doing ok at work. I had to deal with someone like that once. If it wasnt her morning sickness it was her car.

Hi ladies!

I survived the field trip yesterday! lol It wasn't bad except for the fact that it seemed like we were always rushing around. I was in charge of 5 kids. My sons dance date was in the group so I got to meet her. She seems like a nice girl and she was cute.

Susan-Glad you got to have a long sleep last night. Sorry about your boobs though. lol Have fun being a secret reader.

Hi – I’m really busy today, but I wanted to pop in and ask if anyone wants to buy the original 4-pack of the Amy Bento workouts from me. She sent me new ones with my recent order so that I got the pressed copies and not the DVD-R. I will give a really good deal on them and I’ll take Paypal.

Anyone want them before I post them on E-bay?

Good Afternoon,
I didn't get to bed till midnight so was really pumping the caffeine to get going this morning. The Ballet was 2 and a half hours and then I still had dinner to clean up and stuff to do when I got home. This morning I did Muscle Max lower premix no str., MIS lower, then Pyramid calves 2X and floor work with 5# ankle weights on the outer thigh work and stretch, 3.25 mile treadmill run and more stretching. I would like to get in a stretch tape sometime but have a lot to do again. BTW I noticed that the main performers in the ballet had some great muscle definition. I wonder if they get that way without weights. You could see the leg definition even with tights on.

Christine, DH will be home in 8 days. Can't wait.

Susan, I am glad to hear the baby is sleeping for you.

Lora, which of Amy Benuto's workouts do you like the most? I was looking at the abs and stretch one. My daughter gave me money for Mothers day. Also, what do you think of Turbo Jam Lower Body Jam and Booty Sculpt and Abs?

Dallas, it sounds like you are really improving. PT must be going well.

Diana Sue - I haven't done the Booty Sculpt or Lower Body Jam (shame on me). I think the toning ones would probably be a little easy for someone like you, unless you did it as an add on with heavy weights or a really hard band and did the DVD x 2. I have only done the toning ones a couple times. I only did 1 stretch and 1 ab workout off of the Amy Bentos so far and it was decent....but I don't really remember it.

You ladies can probably search over at Videofitness for reviews of the Amy Bentos. I have the stretch & ab one, the Advanced Step one, Pump and Bootcamp. I guess I'll sell them for $10 a piece, or if someone buys the whole set, I might knock a bit off (plus shipping).

I think my favorite so far is All Pump. I haven't really done them enough to decide. I was waiting for the last 2 to come so I can do them sort of like a rotation.

As far as what I like out of my newer stuff the best -- I'm pretty sure the Bosu will win when I get it cuz that bouncy stuff and I really get along. I really liked this morning's workout. It was quite challenging ...lots of plyos and it worked your legs hard without weights (i.e. stepping, plyos) and it was innovative. I also really like Seasun Zeiger's Straight Up Step. It gets the HR up and is fun. I like Mindy's Bootcamp also.

ETA: I really liked the ab work in today's workout and I liked the ab work in a recent Mindy one I did....can't remember which one, but my abs were sore and it's hard to get them sore. I used a 6 pound med ball.

I'm gonna try out a new Bento one this weeekend and probably my Cycle Challenge one from Mindy (if my legs are up to it).

Gotta run....I'm still swamped here.
 
Afternoon ladies!

I did balanced core from CM. I'm not sure I like the chaptering in that version, but at least I worked my abs for 22 minutes. I didn't get to the treadmill, but will focus on cardio only tomorrow. I also did SM #1. I like that quick little stretch.

Diane Sue ~ Yes, I think my foot is on the mend now. That girls knows her stuff! I know I've said that before. How in the world did you have the energy to workout after that long night? I agree, dancers know the answer to sculpt those legs. I know one magazine did a piece on the Dancing with the Stars celebrities on their transformations. I should be signing up at my local dance studio. lol ;-) :7

Lora ~ I emailed you about the Amy DVDs too. I don't think DVD-R would play in my player though.

Sabrina ~ Good luck with the first date tonight for your ds. ;-) You survived the field trip! That will be me next week on the kindergarten one to the zoo. Oh boy!
