Hardcore Fitness Maniacs Check In for Friday March 31

Morning Fitness Maniacs -

Late to bed and late to rise....yet again. I really need to start getting up earlier. I did 30 min Turbo Jam Fat Blaster Interval workout. It was pretty good. I liked it. Really good intervals and good heart rate! Not as much boxing as other TJ's. I then did 15 minutes of Ab Workout #1 on Amy Bento's DVD.

This was quite different and I was running out of time (wanted to do yoga) so I sort of rushed thru it and can't give an accurate assessment of it. It started out with standing oblique work with light hand weights. One of the only places on my body that has zero fat are my sides and obliques. I don't store any fat there....so all of this work seemed unnecessary and by the time we went down to the floor, I felt the work mostly in my hip flexors. I skipped the last move due to time and it looked like one that worked the low abs (where I need it). I'll have to do this again and judge it. It IS DIFFERENT.

I also did 46 minutes of Eion Finn's Power Yoga Vol 1. I enjoy Eion very much. I did most of the Down Dogs as I saw on Yoga Journal.com that they are good for your sinuses and I could use that....however, my deep intrascapular pain has been worse from my disc problems since I went off of the prednisone. I guess the prednisone was helping the inflammation in my cervical disc.

It's Friday....YAY.....and I go to pick up my car after work tonight.

Sabrina & Marietta - I'll let you know how much those packages were to ship. I'm asking my Mom to run them to the PO today. Also, Sabrina - those files that you downloaded were only audio....no video. Thanks for your trouble.

Good Morning,
This morning is Treadmill w/u and short run, Circuit Max using a barbell and doing only lower no w/u or st, P90X legs and back, ab ripper x. I have 4 of my granddchildren today no school o hopefully I can get all I planned in. I still don't know if DH has made it to Iraq yet.

Lora, I caught your post last night. It was late so I laid out my CD-R's and hunted down my cable to download to my mp3 player. I will get Cardio Coach 6 today. Thanks. I figured they would e mail when it was ready. It looks like it will be good and I listened to the audio samples. Was that 4 challenges:)

Marietta, If for some reason Beach Body sends me extra of Power Half Hour abs I will be glad to send you one. It was only $5.94 with shipping.

Lora-I don't think there is video just audio on those files. If you get video let me know. Sorry you were late getting to bed and late to get up. I just wish I could sleep. I finally got my Turbo Jam's late yesterday. I have not had time to preview them yet. I have errands to run this morning and I have to work 1-5. I have to host an open house tomorrow from 11-1 and then go grocery shopping. Not sure when I will make it to preview. LOL!

Diane Sue-Great workout! Have fun with your grandkids. What fun things do you have planned for them today?

The family went for a 3 mile walk last night. Ethan was in the stroller, Austin on his bike, and Dylan on his scooter. lol We did the three miles in 45 minutes though. Not sure what I will get in today. Whatever it is it won't be until after work.

Today is PLB and a run outside in this great weather! I will also do 20 minutes of ab work from ab hits. Might even get in a SS work out.

Charlotte-So you just got up and ran 17 miles? This from a gal who hasn't ran much! Hear anything on the job yet? Just think you can bench press the other employees and do plyo jacks over the counter :)

GOTCHA! April Fools!!! LOL! Yeah, I know tomorrow is April 1, but not much of us will be around so I am starting off early. Gosh, I would love to do 17 miles, but that is gonna take some time for me to build up to that amount.

On a more serious note, I will be outside today tending to my strawberry garden. I have to put a mesh over it to keep the animals out of it and weed it out too. I will also put some moth balls in there to make sure nothing goes in it.

Gonna be working chest/back and running and lowmax...FOR REAL!!! LOL!

Happy Friday!

Today I jogged 2.5 miles. I just wasn't "into" it today. Later I did SIM.

I would have liked to have done more, just not in the mood today. I have errends to run today and we're going out tonight. I'm looking forward to it.

Christine, thanks for the volunteer link. I’ll look into it. My son is six, but he’s been saying that he wants to be a Zoo Keeper since he was five.

Sabrina, I put the “bug” in my husbands ear last night, that I’d like to go to Disney in December. I’ll see what we can work out.

Is anyone else in?

Marietta, you made me laugh when you were describing the way the step has to face in Kellys w/o! My workout room has vaulted ceilings. When we moved to this house, I tried to place my Step sideways to the tv and was all screwed up. Now, I just jump where the window is. (I better not miss, OUCH!).

I am off work today so that's why I'm late checking in today. I walked on my treadmill and am about to do Step Blast. After I do that I'll think I'll do a little Kelley Coffey...just for fun.

Lora - I just got Cardio Coach 5, but my mom has it until my b-day. Based on my everyone says I should like it, but I want to try it before I order something else.

Toasty - You are a nut!!! If you ran 17-miles, you wouldn't be able to type right now because you'd be so sore. Enjoy your workout...

Susan - your son sounds like my daughter. She's known for a while what she wants to be. At first it was a Vet, but she decided she could not put animals to sleep, so a zookeeper it is now. I think it's great for kids to have goals

Today is my off day, so I did CTX triceps, and the 1st ab program on CTX All Abs. Wanted to get up and do CoreMax as well, but just needed sleep I guess... (I know, I know - Charlotte - I need you to kick my butt!)

Got some semi-bad news at work today. The merger is complete now, and my job will be becoming customer service in a call-center situation. Which is a huge step down from where I am. My pay will most likely be cut by a lot - my commission will be taken away... So it's kind of the worst case scenerio. I'll have a job, for which I should be thankful, but I would probably be better off if they laid me off, paid me a severence and gave me an opportunity to find another job. Fortunately the job market is good right now.

Oh well, this too shall pass. Maybe it's the push I need to get out of my comfort zone and get a job I actually like.

I did the workout I planned doing 1.5 miles on the treadmill, plus adding the 9 minutes of kick box off of Cardio X, and the Circuit Max. I did the weight work and then ab riper plus 100 each kneeling and seated resisted Bowflex cruches and 50 wood chops on the ball. I had a great day with my grand children. I finally heard from DH and he is back in Iraq.

Lora I got my download today. It looks great.

Sabrina, the grand children and I did pipe cleaner bugs and watched Wallace & Grommit. They also did Kempo X on their own. They like the kickboxing workouts.

Charlote, I actually believed the running thing. Now the pregnant thing:)
