Hardcore Fitness Maniacs 8/7/07 Tues

Good morning!

My ride this morning is getting rained out. :( I'm going to try a new Spinervals workout in the basement. The PA DID tell me yesterday to take it easy on the bike until we figure out what's going on with me. AS IF!!! :p After 25 years? Coach Troy doesn't take it easy on anybody. I crank up my resistance or make sure my cadence is high enough so that my HR is through the roof on Spinervals workouts. They kill me every time. We'll see about this one. It's Lean and Mean 4.0. I haven't had a new one in ages and ages.

ETA: As you'll notice by my post last night I never did get in my upper body workout, as I spent the evening at Wal-Mart waiting for the prescriptions that never got called in. But now I can't skip cardio this morning. Maybe tonight...

This morning was cardio and I decided to do the Illustrious Volume 4 from Cardio Coach. I DREAD this workout, it's the hardest one (imo) of the entire series. Surprisingly, I did very well. I actually enjoyed this workout.

My HRM worked today and I think I figured out the problem: my cell phone. Lately I have kept it with me just incase my sales reps call, but if they are calling me at 6:30 in the morning then they are on their death bed and at that point there isn't much I could do about it anyways. LOL! So I left my cell in my living room and my HRM worked throughout the workout until I got to the end. I hit 170 with the last challenge (and I do believe it got up that high because I was really pushing it) but within about 20 seconds of resting my hrm showed I was at 89 bpm. Ummm, don't think so. I adjusted the strap and it went right up. So I don't know what's going on. Hopefully that was the problem.

Did the ab work from Step, Jump & Pump. LOVE this ab workout! It is my favorite. The plank work is the best.

Cardio stats only:
46 min. total workout
38 min. in zone
277 calories burned

With the ab workout total workout was about an hour.

So having that self loathing feeling today. Just feel like a slob. But, I am hoping to start a WO within the next few minutes. It will be cardio, and I might throw in some extra LB. Will wait till tomorrow to do some UB since my back was sore yesterday. I h ave to work tonight, and I am determined to have the salad again. It amazes me how people will make fun of you for eating healthy. I fell prey to that the other night, cuz I was craving a burger, but was gonna get a salad again, so I gave in to easy. BUT, one girl did make a comment when I said I was getting a salad, she said, "that's why she looks the way she does, cuz she eats salad!" It was nice.

Anyway, going to get my butt moving.

Good Morning Maniacs!!!

Worked out back this morning. Mostly on my own because I have little time as I have to go to work soon and eat fiercely as well before I leave so I don't starve. Bringing my protein shake with me (my security blanky). lol. I worked my chest yesterday and abs at 10pm. So I am still keeping up with everything..just alittle more busy.

It took awhile but I finally got that workout in. I was dragging again this morning. Spent forever trying to call the car place back to have them check my tire that has a slow leak while they were working on my car. There phone was busy everytime I checked. I started my workout with Criss Cross Cardio stopping at the balance/core then did Turbo Jam Punch, Kick and Jam no w/up and stopping at the tubing, Slow and Heavy legs and shoulders and Rainbeau's Dawn yoga bonus. I really drug through my weights. I lowered some of the weights because my joints in my fingers are achey and one bends funny. I asked my dil to try to get me in to the doctor the first part of next week. This is my 5th week of S&H legs. I think I am about ready for something else.
Legs
dumbbell lunge w/up 20# dumbbells
Bowflex Squat 280# 3 sets
dumbbell reverse lung w/up 20#
static lunge 40# dumbbells 2 sets
dumbbell side lunge 35#
dumbbell plie squats 75# 3 sets(usually do 95#)

DS- my fingers are the main place that has achy joints from my Sarcoidosis, so I feel your frustration with that. Kinda makes it interesting when you have to hang on to DBs. Especially the heavy ones you use LOL! Good luck with it, and hopefully you get into the doc and all is alright. Good job getting that WO done. That takes determination to get all that in!

Debbie - Way to go forcing yourself to do CC#4! I know how you dread that one. :) That's interesting about your HR monitor and your cell phone not playing nice together.

Meg - I also get tired of people making fun of how I eat. But you just stick to your guns. That was a nice comment from that one gal. And you are NOT a slob ever!

Char - I need to take lessons from you and get my weight workouts in no matter the time of night. You're just amazing!

Dallys - Slim Fast Capuccino on your oatmeal? You ARE creative! Now you've started something you may not want to quit. How far is that mine from you? Those poor guys. I pray they find them alive.

Diane Sue - I'm thinking of getting the S&H series and holding off on the new ones. Since I like to do my own cardio and I can't do a lot of step, I thought that might be a good idea. You seem to really like S&H. What do you think? Have you been having trouble with your hands for awhile?

Hey Maniacs! Finally finished work. I'm getting REAL sick of these extra hrs. I can't complain though, because at least I can get in extra hrs. in if I want too.

Suz- Yeah! Slimfast with oatmeal is great! We only find these things out when we are desperate. LOL! Don't tempt me with S&H (why did I sell it?). I did order the new ones. I think they sound great.

Diane Sue- Sorry your fingers are hurting. Hope it's nothing serious.

Meg- Great job on getting the workout in! Tuna sounds yummy. I ended up having a sweet potato with cottage cheese and 2 veggie sausage patties for lunch. What a combo!

Char- Have fun at work. Did you ever get the other girls out on a bike ride?

Debbie- I did CC #4 a couple days ago and it wasn't as bad as I always think it will be. It's #5 that I'm avoiding now. LOL! That was on todays schedule, so of course I picked #1 instead. :+

Dallys, I bet that was yummy on your oatmeal. I have used sugar free coffee mate on mine. I also accidentally scooped fat free coolwhip in my cereal instead of my hot chocolate once and found I loved that with a little skim milk. Only thing is I kept wanting to eat more of it.LOL

Suz, my fingers have been bothering me for some time. It is just that the one that doesn't bend right kind of clicks and really is hard to move in the mornings. That just started happening the last couple of weeks. I really do like the S&H series. They are long workouts. They can be separated into one body part a day though instead of two. I hope your new inhalers help out.

Dallys - Everyone says #5 is the hardest and I don't think it is. I think #4 is because of all the short rests. I'm getting better at endurance running, though, so maybe that's why I found it fairly easy this morning.

Diane Sue - Car problems just suck! I'm so thankful that my dh can fix anything that could go wrong with our cars.

Where is everyone? Our hardcore checkin is dwindling. :(
 
Diane Sue- Cool whip in cereal sounds wonderful! Might have to accidentally try that one.:9 I hate have car problems. Hope it's not to much money.

Debbie- My dh can fix most anything car-wise too. This has saved us tons of money over the years. Our checkin has been really slow lately. New people join in for a day or so and never stay. It's down to just a handful of us. Kinda sad.

Dallys - I can't believe you didn't just give ME Slow & Heavy! :p How do you get italics and bold? I don't see that option. It sure would be nicer than all of my caps, wouldn't it? It says HTML use enabled. I even tried to type it in Word and then cut and paste and it didn't transfer over.

So are you saying we're boring and not enough for you? Hehehe.

Diane Sue - I hope you figure out what's up with your hands. I hope it's nothing serious. :( Thanks for the info on S&H. I'll have to go check it out. I'm really sorry about your car. That is just a bummer about the warranty. I wonder if it's some sort of defect b/c of what the mechanic said. Can you do some sort of Google search to see if others have had similar problems? Worth a try maybe.

I have another lame excuse for no weight work tonight. I got a migraine AGAIN today at about 2pm. I only took Excedrin b/c I hate taking Imitrex at work. It took the edge off but didn't go away and it's pounding a little too much to lift. I can do cardio with one but usually not weights - not like Diane Sue! My muscles are going to turn to mush.
