Cathlete
GM Maniacs-
yesterday was p90x chest, shoulders, triceps. workout was full of endless push ups and I am very sore today. Time was 43 min and I burned 364 calories. I felt like I was working harder than the 364 shows but oh well. I was going to add a run but I STILL have doms in my legs from the kb work on Saturday. Today is plyo x and I may get a run in after that, but I am very tired at the moment and have not been in much of a workout mood the last few days.

Debbie-Hope everything went well yesterday.
Diane Sue/Laura-can you tell me about the flexible warrior yoga. I am having some issue with my right shoulder. Does it have good shoulder stretching?
Roselyn-I'm dying to know about Insanity. Let me know what you think. Is it all cardio or do you use weights?

Hello to all that follow.

Hi Ladies

Today I worked back and triceps at the gym. I mostly used the cable machine lat pull downs and t bar rows. Also did rope extensions for my triceps. Had a nice walk to and from the gym as I don't drive yet so I have to walk everwhere lol.

Theresa I don't have the flexible warrior dvd yet. I bought a dvd from totalfitness.com called Yoga for Athletes its a newish one. Its quite good. I'm quite tempted to get a flexible warrior as I know Diane Sue uses them. P90X is a tough rotation. Sometimes the HRM can make you feel downhearted when you feel you've worked really hard and the numbers don't go as high. I don't tend to use them as I get quite competitive with myself lol.

In the end last night I did Eoin Finns Pure & Simple Yoga. I love his yoga he's such a nice guy. I will try and get another yoga dvd in later

Roselyn I've looked at Insanity seems really tough, good luck with it.

Hope everyones well and having good days.

Take care
Laura

I'll be back later to update you on my mom's surgery.

Today was cardio and I did Cardio Coach #5. Didn't go balls to the wall with this one, low back and hip area is really tight again so I took it easy. I need to get some stretching in. Had a fairly good workout.

It's cold here today. Only 40 this morning when I woke up. I can't believe summer is already over. We didn't really have much of a summer this year. :(

HR STATS:
58 minutes total
7 minutes below zone
22 minutes in zone
30 minutes above zone
451 calories burned
3.25 miles travelled

My workout this morning was Strike Zone burning 435 calories. I then put in Amy's Kickbox Surge and did the Surge 2 times premix skipping the warm up for another 22 minutes and burned 235 calories. I followed with Kickbox Surge Core Refining, 76 calories, then had to run to get the children to their schools. Total calories burned was 746 40% fat 96 minutes. I don't know what I was thinking but I gave the grandbaby her waffle on a glass plate this morning. Needless to say I was cleaning up glass.

Theresa, I like the stretches in Flexible Warrior Athletic Yoga 3.0. It has an energy segment, swim, cycle, and run on it. The run one is the longest at a little over 20 minutes. The swim one has the most upper body stretches in it. She spends about 5 minutes on one side then 5 on the other. Most of these concentrate on one side at a time which I think adds to the effectivess of a shorter yoga segment. I have often thought that I would like to get the one that addresses step workouts and other cardio too. The shoulder moves ostn the swim segment do some stuff with the strap or towel with arms moving front to back, then there is eagle arms, and the move where you reach one arm over your shoulder and try to grab the other hand(she has you use a towel if you can't reach) then you grab the hand behind your back and pull sideways while leaning your head to the side which gives you some stretch through the neck area, then the usual child poses. I think it is pretty good. Hopefully I am giving you an idea of what is on it. The run segment hits legs pretty well. I just wish they didn't cost so much. I also wish the music and set was better. The instructor walks around and talks while the class does most of the work. But the work is good.

Morning Maniacs -

I'm off today....going to the dentist in a bit and then to the Nursing Home and to run errands.

I had a great workout this morning. I did The Firm Transfirm Your Trouble Zones - 30" Express Workout (kettlebell workout - with a heavier weight than they used). This was one just okay....nothing great with the HR. Then I threw Zumba in. I did the Dance & Tone one. WOW. That is a great fun workout. I can't believe I waited so long to get these. I love "shakin" it (believe me...shakin' this backside can really get my HR up...LOL). It was super fun and pretty intense. My HR hovered around 155 and I burned 640 calories in 64". I feel a Zumba craze coming on!

I also did Yoga for Your Week with Rodney Yee & Mariel Hemingway. I chose the Total Body Segment and the Upper Body one. It was just okay. Not enough stretching, as usual. I threw in 10 Min Stretch Legs & Hips. Still not enough stretching, but I ran out of time.

Theresa - I'll give another shout out for Flexible Warrior. It is a good stretch in a little bit of time. Come to think of it, I should break it out!

Have great workouts everyone.

I hope my Action Babe Hero workout ships today. I can't wait to start a rotation. I need to get out of ADD mode and follow something for a while. I spend too much time choosing my workouts when I do random ones.

Lora, I am anxious to hear your thoughts on the Action Hero workouts. I know what you mean about not having a rotation. I can spend 30 minutes just staring at the dvds if I have no clue what I am going to do. Sometimes I start them and take them back out.
I have heard others say that they liked Zumba but I have never tried them.

Just wanted to let you all know that my mom did very well with surgery yesterday. I was there most of the day and then my brother went to see her in the evening. They got her out of bed this morning and she said the pain was excruciating because she laid in bed for 24 hours. They had her in therapy around 10 this morning and I haven't talked to her yet about it. I'm going to go see her after I leave work.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers everyone! It is greatly appreciated!

Hi Debbie, I think I must have missed some of the posts about your mom going in for surgery, but great to hear the surgery went well.

My weekend was rather light with workouts. Yesterday I did Amy's All Pump Xtreme back, bis, and tris premix. I haven't worked out yet today; I'll try to get to it after some grading, etc.

This morning I did LIC Cardio Timesaver Premix and added the bonus cardio from BM2. Because of this stupid virus, my HR hit 180 on LIC, I mean come on it was LIC. So Plyo Legs tomorrow should be interesting to say the least. After I got everyone off to school this morning I went and took a hour nap.:p

Today's workout was 54 minutes and I burned 453 calories.

Today ended up being pretty busy. DH called and wanted me to meet him for lunch. I still needed to make some stops and am still trying to get the house cleaned. Got it

Debbie, I am so glad to hear that your Mother's surgury went well.

Linda, I hope you get to feeling better. I have done that too. Last time I did Strike Zone my HR was really up there. Today it was back to where it usually is. You should probably take a couple of days off, but I know how that is. I always think it but have to follow my usual habits.

Lora, thanks for the link I will go check it out:D

I actually managed to get today's workout in quite a bit earlier, although I'm just now posting it. I did amy's APX premix with chest, shoulders, and core. She has a couple pretty tough core moves in that workout. Overall definitely a great dvd!
