GM LADIES

Yesterday was almost a non-workout day. I am sooooooo tired from staying up reading, but I can't put the friggin' book down :p I got on the bike/trainer and did Spinverval Sprinting Machine and told myself I would stop at 30 min. I wound up finishing it and stretching. Time was 55 min. My bum is sore today, but I am glad I did it. Today will be a short cardio and a longer stretch session.

TTFN (ta ta for now )

Hi Everyone!

Happy Thursday...this has been a long week considering I had two Wednesdays :p.

Theresa - Don't ya just love a good book? I think that's one of the things I love about camp - I get to sit and chill (sometimes) and just read my book - not something I get to do often. I have, however, been known to stay up all night reading.... Nice workout today! :)

Debbie - I hope you are doing better today. I am sending prayers your way - for both you and your mom. :)

Hi to Lori, Lora, Roselyn and everyone else. I have to get back to work, but will try to check in again later. :)

Cheryl

My workout is done. I have to go get stuff for my son's Birthday dinner Saturday. I also need to go to the pet store for some more fish, but that will complicate things because I pormised my granddaughter that I would pick her up and take her when I do that and that would be additional running around. I need to have things organized and done today as I have the grandbaby coming tomorrow and staying the weekend while her family goes to family camp. I did I Max Extreme 74 min and burned 589 calories. I then did SloMo core 14 min 93 calories and STS Abs Circuits Stability ball 20 min 87 calories, followed with 10 Minute Solution Tone Trouble Zones abs and stretch 20 min 68 calories. Total calories burned was 837. Workout time was 2 hr 8 min..

Theresa, nice workout:D I used to be able to keep reading but most of the time anymore I know I will be sorry the next day when I am tired and things get crazy.

Cheryl, I used to do a lot of relaxing and reading when we went camping. Doesn't happen that much anymore. I sit down with a book and fall asleep LOL Takes me a month to read a book. Maybe if I didn't spend so much time on the computer I would get other things done:)

Finally checking in - Muscle Endurance yesterday (added in a few extra sets for legs - not enough leg press work in that one ;). Yes I'm kidding - though I did tag one a few sets of pistols, etc.,). More weird weather, too. Mostly, it's made it hard to get things done. I'm behind on some work projects. Hopefully can catch up today. I'd Like to double up and do 2 workouts (both cardio) today. That depends on Ds and the storms, mostly.

Theresa - Cool - a fellow bookworm :D - sounds like there are a few of us on this check in. I go through phases where I read A LOT - the lag time in between, I'm looking for another book to fall in love with (the only book I really should be glued to right now is my pt text). Good on you for getting it done (your workout) - twice as much time as you'd planned. Getting started has been way harder for me that usual, it seems. Not sure why. Also - thanks for posting a recipe for peanut butter balls. (I should also thank Roselyn for asking for the recipe originally). I will not, however, be able to tell DS that is what they are called (he is such a boy ). They look great as pre-(or post) soccer snacks, though I didn't quite get how the word "optional" could ever be paired with the word "chocolate" ??? :p

Diane Sue - Very busy day for you today. Your weekend sounds like it will be fun (if a little hectic) - and WOW on the workout :D. I did read your post yesterday - still shaking my head about your sprinkler guys asking for the manual AND a screwdriver?? Good night - that’s about as bad as having a Dr. ask if you happen to have a stethoscope on you. A bit surprised they didn’t ask for a manual FOR the screwdriver. It is perhaps best that they didn’t show up again.

Cheryl - It has been a long week for you ;) . Is today your Thursday? Hope you're having a good one, whatever it is - I might try and have a week of Friday's sometime (inspired by you). I kind of like Friday's :p

Debbie - I've thought about you and your mom several times - send some extra prayer's every time I do.

Lora - Day's without a workout are usually "rockier" for me somehow. Hope yours is going ok. You're not off again until Monday? Is that right? For your sake, I kind of hope I'm wrong about that.

Have a good afternoon.

Lori

Lori-Ha HA on the extra leg work, and it does not suprise me that you added some pistols :D and I agree that chocolate is not optional, but some people can turn it down. I was a book worm, and kind of got out of it for awhile, but I got interested in the Twilight books after I watched the first movie. I get into things pretty intensely when I finally get on board. I was the same w/ the Harry Potter series. Nothing I read are literary masterpieces, but it's nice to escape. And even though I act tough, I am a sucker for a love story

Cheryl-this is my second time through this Twilight series, and I would probably stay up all night reading if I could. I don't know why I find them so fascinating, but oh well. :D and LOL on the two Wednesdays, I have thought it was Friday all day......

Diane Sue-nice calorie burn today, you really knocked it out of the park :) Anyone ever call about the missed appt yesterday?

Oh.....we had a potluck at work today, and I usually don't participate b/c I cannot stop eating. Buffett style food triggers a VERY bad response, and it happened again today. I completely derailed on the decreased sugar, but I also factored in a few cheat meals and that was one of them. I figure I can get 3 or 4 treats (meals or little snacks) and still get where I need to be, if not then I will cut it back to 2 treats.

Hi Again,

I just decided to check back in because my brain is complete mush...and it's actually almost time to go home for the day...TG!! I didn't say TGIF (Lori) :p
I guess I would rather a week of Saturdays - if I had to pick. :D

I forgot to even post my workout from today - DOH!! I did IMax 2 (almost typed "Imad" - LOL) and followed up with Abs from Cardio and Weights. It was a good workout and came in at a little over an hour. I also walked/ran with the pups for the usual 35-40 min this morning. I can't say I am looking forward to GS Legs tomorrow, but hopefully I will catch my 23rd wind for this week!

Diane Sue - OMG....Again, I am tired just reading what you do in a day!! I hope you can get some relaxation in over the weekend, although after reading your posts I can't imagine how that would be possible. I think you might just be a little type super A yourself? Not knocking it......:D You get more done in a day than I think some people get done in a week. Have a great day and keep us "posted" on the sprinkler situation.

Have a wonder-filled and joyous evening everyone!!

Cheryl

I did Tae Bo Get Ripped Advanced 1 this afternoon - one of the older and better Billy Blank’s workouts, I think. It moves at a decent pace, and has a good balance segment in it - not so different from the leg conditioning drill segment on Kick Max, except no one uses a chair for support. I prefer doing these moves without one (a chair) in Cathe’s workout too. My balance and kicks seem to have much improved and too, without assistance, the obliques have to work a good deal harder. I really wanted to get another shorter workout in towards evening, but the weather’s just too sketchy. The crew from the Discovery Channel (and a handful of other storm chasers) are holed up in various hotels around town. I found that piece of information a little unnerving. You guys may know this (I didn’t): tornadoes are given a rating of F1 - F5 (5 being the most severe). I’ve heard the F stands for force (or ferocity?) - not what I thought at first - which was what someone might ( but shouldn’t  ) say if they looked out their window and actually saw an F5 headed their way. Anyhow, I digress. Within the next few days we have a solid F 5 predicted. The atmosphere is weird around here. Creepy clouds on about every horizon - we’re sort of enclosed. Storms keep blowing in but missing us by a few miles … this isn’t even really tornado country. We get a few watches over the summer, but our summer’s are usually dry and hot and … not like this. I’m not used to so much humidity. Diane Sue and Theresa (I think … not sure about everyone else), this is more what you’re accustomed to, isn’t it? I don’t know how you do it. It has been quite the summer. I really like the Discovery Channel but can’t help but hope their stay here ends up being a big disappointment.

Theresa - DS and I LOVED the Harry Potter series. And, since you admitted it, I will too (about the love stories - cried my eyes out when I read Thorn Bird's ... and Wuthering Heights ... and ... oh look at me - off I go. Sorry). I've heard a lot about the Twilight series. DS agreed we could read together this summer (as long as none of his friend's ever find out). Do you think that series would be a good choice? We just finished Catcher In The Rye. He loved that book - it was kind of "heavy," though. Stirred up some great conversations for us. Speaking of DS - I wanted to share with you that the "optional chocolate [?]" observation originated from him. I'd written out the recipe and showed it to him - kind of hoping he might want to help me make them. He is evidently too "old" to cook stuff with his mom (today anyway), but did make the "how could chocolate ever be considered optional" comment - which I thought was funny - and repeated to you without properly crediting my source. My bad. I am thusly amending my error ;) .

Cheryl - I had to ask DS what day it was today and thought of you. TGIWDII (Thank God it's ... whatever day it is. A little long, but it covers all the bases) :p There was something else I was going to say/ask you, but I cannot at all remember what now  Maybe it will come to me later. In any case, good workout today and have fun with Gym Style :D

Guess that's it for now.

Lori
