Hard to get it back

I'm slowly getting back to exercising. I was really lazy last year and pretty much stopped exercising. I can remember when I'd go to the gym pretty much everyday faithfully (or do Cathe) and would be upset if I had to miss a workout. But over the last 2 years I've had a careless attitude. I was ready to get back to it and then I had my gallbladder removed in December. The doctor told me not to do any serious exercising until mid-February and then not alot of ab-work to begin with. My recovering was a little longer since my incisions were a little bigger than usuall. Well I didn't get back to it until just this week. I went to the gym twice - a step/weight class and then a kickboxing class (on the bag) and then I did Cathe's Cardio & Weights last night. I am so freakin sore. It's mainly my calves and ab muscles. I'm hoping to go tomorrow morning to step class if I can get up. I'm not going to quit though. I've got to get serious again and get this weight off.

Welcome back!! I think we all go through points in our lives when we have what we call "good" and "bad" workout phases. Take in strides, don't overdo it too soon because you will get burnt out. I would try a rotation maybe to start which might get you excited and has structure to it. Maybe even substitute a cathe step dvd for one of your gym step classes.

Good luck!! You will be back in the swing of things in a couple of weeks, I'm sure!
