HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR THURS DEC 30

Today was Legs and Calves and I had a good workout. Legs are feeling like jello right now.

1 minute rest between each set.

LEGS
Squats - 65#/12 reps - 2 sets (warmup)

Squats - 100#/8 reps - 3 sets (up 10#)

Leg Press Station - 210#/10 reps - 3 sets (up 10#)

Dumbbell Plie Squats - 45#/12 reps - 3 sets (up 5#)
***Still wish I had 50# dumbbells. 45# was ok, but could have done way more reps.

Stiff Leg Deads - 90#/12 reps - 3 reps (up 5#)
***This was almost too heavy for 12 reps, but I did them.

Leg Extensions - 80#/15 reps - 3 sets (up 10#)
***Knee wasn't bothering me so this weight felt good.

Barbell Calf Raises - 115#/25 reps - 3 sets (up 15#)
***Toes forward, out and in consecutively.

Sorry I haven't been on this week for personals. I'm off this week and I'm not online much when I'm at home. Hope you are all doing well! I've been reading all your posts!

Good Morning -

Roselyn - Nice selection of cardio :) . I've heard good things about the new Michelle workout(s).

Debbie - Hope you're enjoying your time off. Very good leg workout today. I bet they were feeling like jello ;)

Hermia - I was wondering how you were doing. Glad you're with family; that's good to hear. I've run into the same thing trying to get in workouts on vacation (frustration), but very different particulars, of course. Did you like the new workouts, or was it too disjointed with all the DVD player hassles to tell? Anyway, enjoy your vacation :).

Diane Sue - YAY on the F & F order! I think you'll like it and his instruction really is very good. The first time I did it (and the other Budokon's), I really didn't count it as part of my workout though, because I spent some time going back and forth between the workout and the tutorial (active learning -- or something  ). Not so much with F & F as the other ones, but still -- it took the pressure off, so I could just practice the details and not feel like I had to be getting a great workout right off the bat. Anyway -- anxious to hear what you think of it (there's a cow face pose in this one for you ;) ) I tend to count F & F as a yoga workout, though there are some faster (martial art's based) movement segments (nicely sequenced). The others are more aggressive and have a lot of floating (and yes - levitation-ish) movements. Controlled power, might be a way to put it. I'm not sure how to categorize them, but a lot of the moves are really -- beautiful, once you get them down -- in a class by themselves. You still get in good stretching, but it's more focused, dynamic "work" too. Enough so, that my practice (of Budokon) has been neglected since I started Insanity. It would be tough to go into them low on energy and focus (maybe F& F would be ok, which is one of the things I like about having it in the series); Shaun T. dips pretty deeply into that reserve for me. Anyway -- on and on I go

Insanity Max Cardio Circuit today and yoga. Since I carried on about it, maybe I'll do F&F tonight :p

Have a good day everyone.

Lori

TodaY was cardio and abs/core work. I started MMA Fusion, 50 minutes 283 caloris, Max HR 153. I then did Rapid FIre Kickbox 2 twice, heavy bag, standing and floor core with 8lb med ball 52 min, 373 calories 52 min.Max HR 162 . I finished off with Tracey Staehle's Yoga Solutions post cardio mix 11 min 22 calories. Total time was 1 hr 53 minutes and calories burned was 678.

Lori, I figured after watching the different clips of the workouts at budokon that F& F would be the best place to start. I can see them as working strength quite a bit. I love watching the way he flows fhrough those moves. Maybe hit tutoring on those balancing and levitation type of moves will help me out. I just have a terrible time getting my feet off the floor. Even on Amy's balancing on the kettlebells and flowing through to the tricep dips. But I still keep trying.

Debbie, good work on those weights.

Roselyn, nice cardio and ab choices:)
