HARD CORE FITNESS MANIACS FOR SAT NOV 27

Today was Shoulders and Traps and I had a really good workout. Been really feeling like working out lately. Kind of weird because usually when I get to the weekends I just want to veg out.

There were only 2 supersets with this workout so I increased the sets to 4 instead of 3.

WARMUP:
1 minute rest between each set.
Dumbbell Military Press - 10's/15 reps - 2 sets

SHOULDERS/TRAPS
1 minute 30 second rest between each superset.
SS #1
Alternate Dumbbell Military Press - 15's/8 reps - 4 sets
ss w/
Lateral Raise - 12's/12 reps - 4 sets
***These really got me by the 3rd and 4th set. Good burn with the combo of both exercises.

SS #2
Barbell Front Raise - 20#/10 reps - 4 sets
ss w/
Bent-Over Lateral Raise - 15's/10 reps - 4 sets
***This on was a total burner. Really felt it and had trouble getting to 15 reps with the last exercise.

Barbell Shrugs - 90#/15 reps - 4 sets

Then I got on my treadmill and did a light job/fast walk for 20 minutes. Hit 1 mile.

This morning I did CTX power Circuits stopping at back. I used 45lb barbell & 20 dumbbells. Then I did Leaner legs with 45 bar and 15 dumbbells. 83 min total time, 559 calories max HR 161

Roselyn - Mine haven't come yet (the new Cathe's). I also got a shipping notice that my delivery date would be postponed due to a late train :( Glad you're enjoying them and thanks for your input. I agree about the Max Plyo :eek: I still have about a week of the month one workouts to finish before I can go on to month 2. It's taking me longer because I'm still including weight (and some lower impact) workouts, so I'm pacing the Insanity's farther apart. I've been getting antsy and just wanting to try them. That was crazy though, doing it as an add on after Plyo Circuit :confusede: I was still pooped YESTERDAY even though I only did each of the circuits 2 (rather than 3) times. Guess it was sort of a teaser. Also, I probably didn't push as hard as I would have if I'd been doing it properly and for 'real.' I was already pretty tanked when I started it. Tough though - very. I really love Shaun T - he's such an excellent coach. I think something about his style really does make me effectively push harder than I would otherwise. A great deal of admiration for his graduates ;) -- staying with those workouts clear through takes some fortitude.

Debbie - Those periods where you just really WANT to work out are GREAT. I remember you pushing through some tough times, so this phase is well deserved/earned. Nice workout today. Have fun :confused: shopping. Just writing the "s" word makes me a little ... weak knee'd :p

Hermia - A last minute Thanksgiving Dinner - I love that :D - I'll bet it was a lot of fun and made a great memory. Very glad your foot (toe) is feeling better. Even when mine was broken, I found I could still workout. The tennies and splint seemed to give it enough stabilization -- don't think I did any high impact stuff for awhile, but even so, I probably should have been nicer to it. Maybe it wouldn't still be bothering me. If it's swollen and that doesn't improve, it might be a really good idea to have it checked. I never did get range of motion back (toe extension). Don't have it in either of my big toe's, actually (not without pain) and I get charlie horses in them when I'm doing things barefoot (like yoga). Those are quite something :confused: Good job getting your workout's in during the Holiday. Yours sounded like a blast :)

Diane Sue - That's an excellent mix. Bet your legs are ... well worked ;) - I like both those workouts very much, but have never combined them (yet). Great workout (holy moly).

Yesterday, I sequenced a bodyweight circuit (about 40 minutes) and did STS back week 21 ( I think). The circuit was really pretty fun and I counted it as decent steady state cardio. KP & C premix today and biceps. Would like to get some yoga in tonight (hopefully no charlie horses :p). I'm still finding it tricky to pace other workouts around Insanity. I can see the sense in just dedicating yourself to it and plowing though. Interesting (though unfortunate) that Hermia brought up toe problems. The plank work (ski abs and in/out abs etc.) really starts to bother mine and may just be the factor that gets me back in to a doc to have them checked. They seem to need extra recovery between workouts, which vexes me. In any case, I'm enjoying this rotation (however erratic) and will switch to Meso 3 work sometime near the end of next week.

For today's workout I went to yoga class. It was a sub--I enjoy having subs because it's a nice little variety. This lady had us doing some different things for sure; a couple of times I was thinking, Wait...you want us to do *what*? It was fun though. =)

I thought I got my dvds in early today, as a box came for me. However, it was the new resistance bands I ordered from fitness wholesale. A bit of a disappointment, but still a fitness goody.
