Cathlete
Hope you are having a wonderful day, filled with delicious (and turkey-free!) food and great companionship (or even enjoying the day off by yourself).
I get a little blue thinking of all the turkeys slaughtered for the sake of tradition, and it's an image that's hard to avoid this time of year.
I planned (sort of, kind of!) to make a yam pie or some stuffing (with lots of sage, apples and sunflower seeds, and maybe some goji berries, which taste like untart cranberries), but instead of driving up to the coop where they sell the whole grain breading for stuffing, or even putting in much effort at cooking, I decided to just do whatever I wanted and forget about celebrating the holiday!
I'm going to the matinee of the new Harry Potter movie with a friend. We're hoping to avoid the big rush by going when most people will be chowing down on the traditional meal. Hope our plan works and we don't end up in a theaterful of noisy families...or tall people who sit in front of us! LOL!
