Hi everyone! I gave birth to Hannah Rose on 9/28/04 by cesarean section. Some of you may know that I was hoping to try another VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). I had given birth to my second child this way and had no problems and wanted to attempt it again. At 38 weeks I had a sonogram and the baby was just off the charts. The doctor said she would be a very large baby (over 10 pounds) and recommended that I have another c-section just to be safe. So I agreed and it was scheduled. I actually started to have contractions a few hours before the surgery and they started to become pretty intense by the time they gave me the spinal block for the surgery so talk about perfect timing. I told my doctor I'd be upset if we went through all of this (the surgery) and she wasn't as big as they thought she was (the sonogram could be off by as much as two pounds). Well it turns out they were right she weighed in at a whopping 10 lbs. 7 ozs. We're both home now and doing well.

Take Care!!

Congrats.
Today one of my pregnant friends was talking about the name Hannah Rose. Wow, Hannah Rose will be bigger soon than my Alexis Rose born last sept and weighing in at 1 year old at 14.4 lbs.

Congratulations Jacque!!!!! I LOVE the name Hannah! You take care of yourself and your precious baby! Hope to see you in a few weeks in the postpartum check-ins.

Congratulations Jacque,
I love the name Hannah. One of my neices name is Hannah. From what my daughter was told they usually end up doing a c section the second time. My grandson was over 10 lbs as well. I'm glad you are home and doing well.

Congratulations, Jacque! I'm glad that everything ended up working out okay with the c-section. Were your other 2 babies as big as she was? That's amazing. It's so different for me having a little baby this time. Not that Jake is tiny. He is about 8 lbs now at 3 weeks old (but my 1st was 8.7 at birth, and had gained 2 lbs at his 1 week checkup!). He's been growing beautifully, but his legs and arms are still so skinny. We're going to nickname him frogger or something!

How is your recovery going? C-section's are much tougher than vaginal delivery. Especially with my infection. I am just so glad to be feeling better now, though. I worked out yesterday and today. I feel like my old self again. Today, I worked out, cleaned my house, did tons of laundry, took my kids to see a movie, grocery shopped, made dinner for tonight and tomorrow night, cleaned my office, which was atrocious! And ran a job for my business, and nursed my son every 3 hours. I still feel as if I could go workout again!

Take care, and all the best to your beautiful family. Doesn't it feel so special to have a new baby in the house? I am so happy for you guys. Girls are so much fun. Enjoy! (Boys are too of course!)
