Hand posiition on levetation holds

Does this exercise hurt anyone else's hands? It kills mine. I've watched everone on the DVD carefully. Some point their fingers backwards, others to the front. It looks like Cathe is actually up on her fingers, instead of her palms flat to the ground. I cannot do the backwards finger position. And putting all that weight on my fingers instead of my palms hurts! But I get no airtime at all if I do it flat-palmed.
 
For me, my fingers are flat on mat with my palms up, but alittle more pressure on my thumbs. I never have any problems doing leviation holds. Seems to put more pressure on my tri's then anything.

I tried every hand position possible and can only get up to my knees off the ground. Oh well....

It bothers my fingers too...doing tricep dips bothers my wrists as well...
 
Charlotte - where are your thumbs? Extended as far back as possible, or closer to your fingers?
