Halloween Candy

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to Cathe and posting for the first time. My problem is that I'm eating my son's Halloween candy. I ate some on Sunday, but yesterday I couldn't stop myself. I feel terrible because I was doing so good up until Halloween. Any words of encouragement or advice would help.

I also want to add that I even though I'm new to Cathe's site, I enjoy reading member's posts. You truly seem to care and help one another.

All I can offer is empathy, I totally know what you mean. I have an uncontrollable sweet tooth. I wish I could just enjoy a piece of candy and leave it, but one always tastes like more. :(

Hi Charl,

I put the candy in the highest cabinet!! I can't reach it unless I use a chair or ask my husband. If my kids want it I tell them to ask daddy!! The kids are only allowed to have a piece after dinner and I am usually loading the dishwasher and cleaning up. It really helps having it out of your reach.

Welcome Charl,

We bought the candy at the last minute and I put my husband in charge this year. I don't have anything to offer, I just did it the old fashioned way. Thought about the consiquences and struggled through the cravings. I knew that my willpower would payoff. It is actually harder for me if I start with just one piece rather than just avoiding it all together. I put the leftovers away in seal tight containers and placed those containers in the refridgerator that's in the garage. Out of sight out of mind.

Put down that candy now and fight the good fight for your fitness journey.

Hi Charl,

I just wanted to say welcome to the forum.

About the Halloween candy, just try not to over do it. My diet is everything in moderation. If you deprive yourself you may end up eating the whole bowl full. ;-)

Have a great day..

Thanks for the advice and support. I was able to only have one piece of candy yesterday, but it was difficult not to eat more. I took your suggestion and put the candy in the top shelf of kitchen cabinet. So far so good.
