Had my liposuction yesterday!

CandiK

Some of you may remember I mentioned I was having lipo on my hips, thighs, and buttocks. Well, yesterday was the day and I survived.

I am so excited because I measured this morning and even though I'm still a bit swollen, my hips are down from 38 to 36. My thighs are still too swollen to measure. I'm feeling great and walking around the house like nothing happened.

I'm not advocating this for everyone but for me...I was good and ready and I'm thrilled I did it. I'll keep you posted on my progress!

I'm glad to hear your procedure was successful. Remember to follow doctors orders. And stay well. Best to you!

Congrats to you Candi!!

I am very happy for you! I am a big advocate of plastic surgery! I had a breast augumentation done a couple of years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made!:)

Best of luck with it!

I would love to have somebody take the ol' vacuum to my caboose. Do you mind if I ask, did it hurt? I'm such a coward when it comes to the whole pain-thing. If it weren't for epidurals, I would have never had kids. ;-)

I'm happy to hear things went well. As mentioned before be sure to follow doctors 'orders'.

Hey, I'm all for 'getting the little extra touches we desire'. I'm going to be checking out having my eyes 'done' here before long. I'm going to have to want it really bad though, as I'm scared to death of 'going-under' the knife!!:p

Hope you are doing well Candi - don't forget to wear that hideous "garment" they give you. It will keep the swelling way down.

Rest and drink! It will be a few weeks before you have your real results!!!

I have heard that recovery from lipo can be very long and quite painful...but it's also different for every individual.

~Wendy~:)

Hi Candi,

Congratulations on the New You. I'm sure you will be happy with the results in few weeks once the swelling is gone. Make sure to follow your Doctors instructions and take it easy for a few weeks. I too would like to have this same procedure, but it's not really in the budget with three kids right now.

Take Care and Merry Christmas.

Diana

You all are so sweet!

Actually, this was a gift from DH. Not for Christmas, but just because he sees my frustration. He's the best!

I am following doctors orders to the "T". DH is watching me like hawk also. And, let me tell you, this compression garment....UGH. Yes it is hideous but I know it's for the best results.

Shopgirl,

I went to a Cosmetic surgeon who does not advocate general anesthesia so I was awake and watched the whole thing. It hurt when he injected the Lidocaine before he made the incisions. Just like it would hurt at the dentist office. And it also hurt just a bit when he was performing the procedure. Sort of a burning feeling but not too awful. I have a pretty high tolerance to pain so I was okay. I delivered my daughter without anesthesia.

I've elected not to take the prescribed pain medication as it contains codene. Just taking good old Tylenol. It seems to be doing the trick. I do feel a bit tired so I'm resting. The pain feels more like DOMS than anything. They took out 3 liters of fat. It was pretty ugly.

Hi CandiK, You sound so fantastic for such a procedure! I am very sure the reason you are recovering so well is because you wanted this so badley!

As far as having work done, I say GOOD FOR YOU! You will never regret it! My only bit of advice...take care of it. Work out and eat right. Don't undo all the work your PS did by not taking care of yourself. Treat yourself right!

One more bit of advice, if sleeping becomes a little difficult, take some Tylenol PM.

CONGRATULATIONS! Spring will be here before you know it, the swelling will be history and you can sport some "daisey dukes"!!!

WOW! You are a much braver soul than I! :)

I had a breast augmentation and then a revision 6 months later. I was awake during the revision and wasn't too happy about it. I was hoping to feel more drugged up and relaxed. I had to tell them when I was starting to feel pain, which wasn't fun. Bright side, recovery was so much easier!

You are very brave for doing that while awake! Now, go get some rest!

Candi - good to hear it went well! Yes, please keep us abreast of your progress! A friend of mine had this done a year ago and loved the results she got!

Candi, Hi and best wishes to you. I want to know if first he told you to massage the lipoed areas well & 2nd are you doing so. When I was at my lowest fat percentage, I went in for lipo of a couple of pockets of fat, one above each hip. My Grandmother Dearest bestowed these upon me without asking. Anyway, he told me to massage the area & I have to tell you, I didn't want anything to touch me there. It was MURDER. My BF tried to follow dr's orders & I wouldn't let him massage. Funny thing is, I went back for my 1 week F/U visit & when he heard I did not massage, he immediately grabbed me & massaged my hip area before I could stop HIM!! It hurt so bad but in a matter of seconds, my soreness was completely gone.

I just can't get over this experience. It had hurt SOOOO bad at the time. And the areas were pretty tiny. (I was very insecure.) Just wondered.

But GOOD for YOU.

Love,
Marla:)
