Ha-ha-ha - my 'before' hair

Jess,

Your curls look they are a bit 'sturdier' than mine. I get snarls and knots underneath all the time, especially at the nape of my neck. The curls require so much pampering, but at the same time, they resent handling and primping, if that makes sense. It drives me crazy!

And again, thanks everyone for the compliments!

Oh don't cut it!!! You look like a cross between Miranda (hair color) and Carrie Bradshaw (the fab curls!) Sorry to reference Sex and the City, but if I had that hair, I would be singing from the rooftops about the wonder that is my hair! Oh, do not cut it!:)

I think your hair is just adorable - the curls are so well defined. I have super curly hair too, but it usually ends up frizzy :( - not defined and perfect curls like you.

I think you should go for a trim...but your stylist will know more about what to do :)

Reese -

I HIGHLY recommend naturallycurly.com. It is loaded with reviews for curly hair products that you can buy right online.

Also, if you haven't already read it, get your sweet self to amazon.com and purchase "Curly Girl" by Elaine Massey. It's a fabulous book about caring for curls. You'll be shocked to find out the first thing you need to do is stop shampooing your hair! I wash mine once a week with No-Poo by DevaCurl.

Other days I only 'wash' it with conditioner. When I've rinsed out most, but not all, of the conditioner, I slop in some leave-in conditioner (got a bunch of different products in my cabinet) on my seriously *sopping and dripping* wet hair and finger comb it through my lucious locks - heehee. Gently roll it up into a microfiber towel and leave it be for a bit while you towel off your tres sexy hot bod.

Then unroll your hair, put in a fave curly hair product, scrunch it while bending over and using a diffuser/hair dryer on low low low heat.

Don't comb hair except in the shower when you have conditioner in your wet hair. Use a wide tooth comb.

And also, stop touching your gorgeous hair when it's dry. I know, I know, you'll feel so fab that you won't be able to keep from caressing your beautiful hair, but you must resist! Touching it will make it frizzy!

I'm serious about the no shampooing anymore! It makes all the difference.

Good Luck!

I agree. I'm bloody envious. You have fabulous hair. Maybe just go for a shaping so the curls keep their bounce? But certainly nothing drastic. Great colour on you. LOVE IT!

I was just going to tell you what you posted below!! I am a hair twirler, my dh is always getting on me about it!! (I don't even notice I'm doing it most of the time) But touching my hair & combing it out = FRIZZ!!! And I only wash every other day, I do *have* to shampoo but I also really condition each time and on days when I don't wash, I just wet & reapply some gel. It really helps the curls stay under control. And yes, I get lots of snarls & knots underneath!! I call them my *curly fries*. ;-)

I just say my hair has a mind of it's own!! And of course, I have 3 girls and only my youngest, a blonde, has curls!!
