Ha-Ha-Ha...I escaped the Wrath of Ice Cream

This weekend has been something else. DH wanted to go for ice cream on Sunday, so we did. I was sneaky and ordered a sugar free raspberry sno cone. Last night at BIL, they all went to Carvel and brought home ice cream. I told BIL that I did not want one. My hubby and everyone around me MADE me get one...yes, they MADE me!!! I played with it...ate the cherry on top and then just let the cup of ice cream sit in my hands while I listened to BIL chat away and others. I ended up throwing the ice cream in the trash, and they all thought I ate it. Yeah, right!

your stronger than me.I have a small treat everyday-hey I work hard so I do indulge if I want in moderation.I don't"eat clean"strictly.you are tricky.:+

Charlotte:

Great job!!! I dont know if I could get that close to ice cream and not eat it. Girl-you have some amazing willpower.

PS I really like your analogy of imagining a big butt when looking at junk food. I was given a 6 pack of Krispy Kreme donuts this morning which I took graciously, but all the while I was thinking "big butt", Charlotte says "big butt". I ended up giving them to some starving grad students. I think the 2 of them ate all 6.

Thank you by the way,

wow. great willpower ;) I try to eat quite healthy most of the time but treats now and again work well for me. I think if I never ate the "bad" stuff I would just be grumpy all the time. Life is too short for me not to have some fun :p Moderation is key!

Debbie,

Oh, I did have some fun. I escaped Ice Cream, but I did have pizza! I haven't had pizza in soooo long that I really could have ate 10 slices to myself, but instead I had 3. I love love love pizza, but I have to control myself and have that in moderation. Ice Cream scares me though because just eating two scoops of Rocky Road Ice Cream, you would have to run 18 miles according to what I checked out on the internet. I guess Dutchie and Carole can eat ice cream if they want! LOL

Suzanne,

Are those mental pictures working for ya? You did good giving those donuts to them! Good for you!!

Charlotte, I totally know what you mean! I didn't mean to sound like you never eat anything ;) I just meant that if I didn't enjoy myself I'd turn looney!! I've read the back of Ben & Jerry's cartons and that alone scares me...EEK! I think you'd have to jump on the treadmill just for looking at it :)

Wow Charlotte, I am so impressed. I will have to try the Big Butt Mantra. My favorite motto is moderation in all things, but I usually say yes to treats, and then they become habits, not treats.

Charlotte once again I have to tell you how much I admire your will power and determination. I too now use your mental pics of big butts etc when tempted. For mr sometimes it works sometimes not. I keep trying though:)

Robin,

I love your litte quote there at the bottom. That is so funny, but true! I should have been thinking about that this morning when I was running. LOL

Charlotte~~

Charlotte, thanks, but I can't take credit for that. It's from a song Jimmy Buffett did about "growing older, but not up," a philosophy I can totally identify with. I'm going to be 50 next month, but still feel 25 (or younger)inside. Is that due in part to Cathe, do you think?
