Found myself getting too tired and tried to fight it anyways, and before I knew it I was deep into a box of cocoa krispiesx(

I still have to stay up and go pick up my dh at the airport between 11 and 12 midnight tonight and it's still only 9 pm...I just don't know if I can fend off the sugary monster cravings that keep taunting me...All I keep thinking about is, I can stop and get a snickers or even worse, the drive-thru at dunkin doughnuts might still be open...I haven't been there in years. Am I going crazy?

Anyone else have this problem???

Carrie

I went grocery shopping tonight while hungry and very stressed. *Ahem* You don't even wanna know what I bought.

Michele even posted a picture of her tator tots over at the hate check in...

I had a fat free pizza for dinner but also had 2 kaluha & diet hot cocoa's before that and now am on to no pudge brownies...

luckily i don't have anything too bad in my house otherwise I'd be munching on it too... ugh!

No pudge brownies? I don't know what they are but count me in! I need a reprive from york pepperming patties.

Cherly - They are so good... www.nopudge.com, I can find them at meijer, cubs, and my local health food store. I make "single serve" version so I don't eat the whole pan! You take 2 tablespoons of the mix, yogurt, and i add a little fat free sour cream, and then microwave in bowl for one minute... not a true "brownie" but tastes the same & don't have to worry about eating them all, cause I would! I love York peppermint patties too... so good!

I just got some of those No Pudge Brownie mixes but haven't made them yet. I got the Original and the Cappaccino. Hmmmmm . . . maybe I need something to go with that ice cream . . .:9 :9

BTW I used to freeze the York peppermint patties. Kinda slowed me down a little bit.:p

I bought DH some Drumstick Ice Cream after his car accident this afternoon, but I may have to dig into myself!!!

Can I spell or what!! Pepperming indeed. Thanks for the info, I'm looking it up right now. It is nice to get a single serving snack for self-control impaired.

>I just don't know if I can fend off the sugary monster

Sounds like stress.

You might be interested in reading The Serotonin Power Diet (authors: Wurtman and Marquis). It outlines an eating plan specifically for conquering carb cravings associated with stress/ emotions.

The premise is that serotonin turns off your appetite, and that you can prompt your brain's serotonin production with a few well-timed carbohydrate snacks.

HTH. And in the meantime, enjoy your Krispies...:9

Emotional eating is so me. When I feel stressed or anything, the first thing I do is think of when I can eat my chocolate or ice cream. It's like while I eat it, life is alright again.

BINGO!! This statement is me all over! I'm into week 3 of disciplined eating and was doing very well, last night I blew itx( I know it's just a 'blip' but like so many other things that are bad for us in the end 'dirty' eating feels soooo good while we're doing it. }( Today WILL be a better day!!!:7

Or by taking Ecstasy;)

I have a garage full of Girl Scout cookies awaiting delivery, in addition to the 11 boxes we bought(3 of which have already been devoured!) I figure the quicker I eat them, the quicker they'll be gone, right?

I've found that since I've made Friday my "eat anything" day I can withstand the during-the-week cravings because I know I can have it on Friday.

Plus, I've found that since no food is on the forbidden list, Friday is not the feeding frenzy it use to be. It's a way I can enjoy the stuff I don't eat during the week, wihtout feeling guilty or bad.

On Thurday nights I go to the grocery store to get salad for dinner and while I'm there I pick out my "special" Friday food - like a bag of chocolate covered peanuts or some other favorite "naughty" food I can have for lunch the next day.

Anyway, something like this may work for you!

I'm ashamed to admit, I've used that logic myself from time to time.
