Great source for salmon

I've been ordering salmon over the web. I get the Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon - the skinless, boneless variety in the prepackaged 6oz. servings. It is amazing! I also order the Wild Red Skinless & Boneless canned salmon (I typically don't like canned salmon) and it's very good. Just thought I'd pass it on.

I'm sure it's good, but yikes, the price! The Alaskan fillets if bought in the 6-pack are over $30 a pound. I guess I'm spoiled since I live half an hour from the Pacific. Seafood is plentiful and reletively inexpensive. Still, I hate the poliferation of farmed salmon! There's a definite difference in taste. And color added? That's just plain scary. The "farmed" environment is so foreign to the fish that they don't develope natural color in the meat?

Okay, I'll get off my soapbox...

Thanks for posting the link. When the markets around here do get wild salmon, it usually runs $8.99-$9.99 a pound, even less when on sale. But the availability of "wild" is getting less and less. :-(

Diane, I purchase 24 fillets at a time, which is much cheaper. I'm on my 3rd shipment. I try and justify it by thinking about what it cost's when I order salmon at a restaurant. The price also includes 2nd day air shipping. (Another justification - lol)

I am another one screaming "OUCH". I get my salmon at Costco in a big lump that cuts into about a dozen pieces. For less than 20 bucks, I am not about to change! But, I am interested in the other seafood! Thanks for the link!
