Great News on my Script!

Wow Sparrow!
Congratulations!!!! I know I'd love to hear more about this "mysterious" previous life as a screenwriter. What kinds of projects did you work on? What a cool job:)

That is SO fabulous! How did you get into that anyway? I always thought I'd like to do that - my life would make quite a movie. They could call it "When Smart Chicks do Stupid Stuff."

"It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." Mark Twain ;-)

That is great news, Sparrow! And a great big GOOD LUCK to you!!

:D :7 :D :7 :D

What an inspiration (and even more so b/c it's a creative endeavor!)! Good for you - We hand way too much power over to fear. So, keep kicking fear in the pants, and keep us posted!

Morning All!

thanks for all the support..you guys are great!! I still have a ton of work ahead. The guy wants one major change, not because he hated a concept but because he liked it and wants to see more of it. That's good, but means some major changes in other parts of the script as well, to make it all hang together. Better get to work! But first...

Honeybunch: I got into it in the most typical of ways, doing the whole starving artist thing. After grad school I moved to NYC, worked a series of hideous jobs, and wrote like hell every night. Eventually got a three day temp job at a Disney-owned production company - as a receptionist! Two years later I was writing for them.

Laurie: It's absolutely like standing there naked, though I'd go one step more and say it's like standing there naked while giving birth in front of strangers who insist on commenting on your technique, style, choices...:+ But in the end you can't have an ego about it. Otherwise everything stays in the top drawer of your desk, you know?

Mattea - first, I love your name. Second, to answer your questions, I've written mostly for animation, because, well, I was at Disney :7. Worked on their "One Saturday Morning" block of shows that aired on ABC. Also did interstitials for their shows (similar to Schoolhouse Rock) and a bunch of development work for other potential shows. Lots of long hours. Pay was good though!

This current script is my first foray into feature-length movie script, because I've always preferred writing for television. But at this stage it's easier to sell a spec movie script. So. There ya go.

Yikes, sorry so long. Thanks again for the support ladies!! I'll keep ya posted!
