Great New Fitness/Nutrition Book!!

Hi all,

I know alot of us are interested in reading books on nutrition and fitness, so thought I would share. I have already mentioned this in the "Melters" thread.
I really admire Monica Brant. She did fitness competitions in the 90's and is now a spokeswoman for fitness/models and holds seminars for those interested in all realms of fitness and stuff. Anyway, she has a newer book out called "Monica Brant's Secrets to staying fit and loving life".

I loved it. She gives you a little history, and includes exercise routines, sample diet plans, including her own menu and exercise plans which I found very helpful to get myself back on track. She is a beautiful woman with a lot of experience. Like I mentioned in the Melters thread, this is the book you wish Cathe would write about herself!
You can buy it off her website www.monicabrant.com its 20.00 and totally worth it in my opinion. I liked it much better than Tosca' book.:)

It's is so cool of you to tell us about this - it sounds right up my alley. BTW, you are officially an evil enbabler!

Thanks so much for posting this. It sounds really good--you always have great tips.

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

I have an autographed copy of this book, while I do like it, I don't think that it is better than Tosca's book.

Really? Thats cool. I guess what I really liked about Monica's is her example menu plans--the ones she actually uses on a daily basis, her recipes which look yummy, and the training programs and tips.
I come from a bodybuilding background so maybe that is why it appealed to me, I recognized so many of her "tips" from things I did myself back in the day. Like taking pouches of tuna with me everywhere, protein powder, etc...I even used to make those protein pancakes! So I could relate.
It was the motivation I needed to get "back into the game" with my eating. I know how to do it to get results, its just hard, and this book along with her great personality is doing the trick for me personally!:7

I think Tosca's book is okay too, pretty basic stuff, gives you all the foods to eat and everything too...I just liked Monica's "tone" alot better. Both are fine additions to any fitness buff's library!;)

Oh my gosh, tneah, I just re-read my post and realized I called you an enbabler! Thank goodness you figured out what I was babbling about! That will teach me to post after consuming alcohol - I had just returned from a blogger convention at a Mexican restaurant. I only had one margarita, but I guess it's now clear to everyone that I'm not used to drinking in the middle of the day!

I'll only consider this book if Monica swears that she only eats cake once a year and scrapes off all the frosting.

And by the way, Tosca is an enbabler. ;-)

Frankly, I'm starting to find Tosca nauseating. I still enjoy reading Oxygen but I've really had enough of her "Fab 40-ness" and her Kennedy family ego (Zoiks! Her husband is even more obnoxious!). Tosca has lots of great info but her new found beauty has gone to her head and she seems to have forgotten she was once on the overweight side.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading a more practical book.

Pssst...Beavs, me too. I do not buy Oxygen mag for that very reason...its all about Tosca and ad upon ad for their supplements.:-(

I remember talking about this on another thread too. :)
