gradual tanners

for those that use gradual sunless tanners, do you apply daily or every other day? Since i sweat everyday working out i'm guessing i would need to apply daily.

Good question. If there's a specific brand you'd like to know about I think you should check out reviews online.

I use Faux Tan from Bare Escentuals which is not gradual and I absolutely love the product. I think it lasts about 4-5 days on me, but there's a whole ritual I have to follow every single time I apply the product. I have to shave or wax the areas first (so I can get rid of dead skin cells), I use gloves to apply the product, and then I use a blow dryer to help speed up the drying process. I wait at least 3 hours for the tan to develop and then I shower to get rid of the self tanning smell. lol! It takes time to do that, but the results are awesome. I only use self tanner on my legs and arms though. I can't imagine doing that for all the areas of my body.:p There's a moisturizer from Faux Tan that's supposed to build up a tan gradually, but the reviews are mixed so I'm sticking to the regular one in the meantime.

I think that with gradual sunless tanners you apply daily until you get the results you want and then wait a couple of days until the tan fades out and start again, but I'm not sure. I don't think sweat interferes with self tanning, because I self tan and I've never had a tan fade on me because of it. Once your tan develops it will fade out in a couple of days anyway. Shaving, waxing, and exfoliating products help with fading as well.

I use Dove Energy Glow on my legs right after I take a shower. It doesn't have an objectionable smell. I apply it and wash my hands, then by the time I've applied my makeup and dried my hair, I can get dressed without worry of it rubbing off on my clothes.

I used it daily for about a week, then every-other day during the summer. Now, I'm down to every 3rd day as I don't want to appear too dark now that it's Autumn.
