Just as I couldn't figure out which workout to do this morning, Cathe, Insanity, Tae Bo, tried some of each and just couldn't get into the swing. Then, I see the shiny blue mail car pull up and deliver my Jari Love DVD's!! I even said to myself that I needed a new drug! I don't know which to start with! Ripped & Chiselled, Ext Ripped 1000, Core, Ripped 1000, Slim & Lean, or Ripped!!

I'm pretty sore from adding risers to Cathe's LIC yesterday. Never done it with 2 risers - mostly out of being afraid of falling and re-spraining my ankle. I just took it carefully and modified as needed. I was totally shocked at much more difficult her workouts are with two vs. one riser! Yowza!!

So, to mix things up and get past this plateau, I'm gonna try Jari. Where to begin? It's like Christmas!!

Lucky you, Pam! I know not everybody enjoys Jari's videos but I do. I use them when I want a break from heavy weight work. Plus, there is usually a cardio factor that comes into play with her workouts as a result of the high reps, so I feel like I get a good solid workout in. I think mixing in Jari's DVDs should help you bust through your plateau!

I get her DVDs through Netflix, but I haven't done all of them yet. Get Ripped, IMO, is the easiest--not as much of a burn and the ab work is lacking (probably the best one to do if you are going into your workout with soreness). 1000 is my favorite b/c I enjoy the cardio bursts mixed in with the weights. Ripped & Chiseled is my second favorite (IIRC I liked the leg work), but the ab work is not the best. Slim & Lean is also fun, but Jari misses the mark on the ab section. So I guess you should plan to add on some ab work when you do a Ripped DVD. :p Have fun and let us know how you like them (especially the ones I haven't tried, LOL).

Enjoy your new workouts!

I like Slim & Lean and Ripped to the Core better than Ripped 1000. I don't really remember Ripped and Chiseled so i might have to dust that one off and rediscover what it's all about.

I like the low weights/hi reps and i always feel i got in a good total body workout with these. I do find her kind of weird at times and I've mentioned this before in my blog and other posts. Her "Jari-isms" about burning "carbs" i find strange but they are still good workouts and her students in the workouts are in great shape.

Has anyone tried any of her newer workouts?
