Got a Bowflex for Xmas - just had to share!!

Just wanted to share with everyone when I came home from work tonight my DH was unloading a Bowflex out of his vehicle for my Xmas present!!! I am very excited! A couple of months ago I had mentioned to him that several people on the forum have Bowflexes and I might like one so I could go heavier (especially legs) and not join a gym. Then I haven't mentioned it again. And look what Santa brought me today?!?! Well I'm psyched. It's in the garage right now and I'm sure I won't actually see it until this weekend but I'm looking forward to it!

Anyway, just wanted to share! :) :)

I've hinted loads of times in the past about things i'd like, etc...and guess what??? Nothing! For you to have mentioned it, and for your husband to have bought it is really lovely. Plus they're really expensive!

cograts! i hope you like it! we has a crossbow (better than a bowflex) and returned it during the 6 week trial cuz neither one of us liked it! we decided that real weights were much better!

I had a Bowflex for about a year. My husband is the old school bodybuilder who prefers the feel of metal weights, so we sold it. But I did like the machine quite a bit.

Just make sure it isn't part of the big recent recall on Bowflexes....
 
We have a Bowflex and have been quite happy with it. I don't really use it anymore now that I do Cathe and get my strength training from the free weights and the barbell, but my husband likes the Bowflex a lot and has seen really nice gains with it. I saw nice gains with it too before I started doing Cathe. It just got a bit boring for me and I don't care much for all the swiching weights, cables and seat postions you have to do from one exercise to the next. But then again, now every morning I have to haul out all my free weights and get my barbell put together with the correct weight, and get out my step and my high step, etc. So I guess it's a trade off. Have fun with it!

That is great Jo.. I really like mine. I have been using it along with Cathe for 3 years. Mine is one from the recalls. They have taken care of everything. They just sent me another part for the seat that I had not expected. They also sent a sheet to check any wear on the nylon parts like handles that they said they would replace if needed, just recommending a check. Mine are fine. They also said that they had extended the warranty on mine for 10 years. The recall is not on all of their models either. They have been prompt about taking care of any problems. Also I love that I can do leg extensions and curls and also up my weights using some of Cathe's workouts. Enjoy.

The Ultimate had just came out when I ordered mine so I have the best Power Pro that they had and added power rods. You can go to www.bowflex.com and go down to the safety recall in the middle of the page. It says Ultimate purchased prior to to May 1 2004. You can call them and ask. 800-820-8604.
