Hey all,
finished a good one a few days ago, 'Cotton.' Here's the review from a couple of sources:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/01...=pd_bbs_1/104-7697272-1083112?ie=UTF8&s=books
I agree with the reviews regarding the ending being too pat, but the rest of the book was so funny and bittersweet and unexpected that I didn't care. For those who would rather avoid such topics, there is a fair amount of sex in the book, though it's all organic to the story, rather than being sort of obvious and awkward and thrown in as sex is in so many novels these days.
I'd give it a solid B+

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow - what a ride!’ — Peter Sage
