good news for colon cleansers

I know....weird subject line, but I did not know what else to put!!

Anyway, I have noticed some recent posts on colonix and Dr. Natura (the same thing I think). So I wanted to tell you about a friend of mine who is using a product called Detox 7. She is on her 4th day and is passing some pretty funky stuff. (I don't know personally, this is what she told me!)She thinks she has passed some worms. YUK!!

So, I bought some at Wal-Mart ($8 in the vitamin section) and discovered it is full of psyllium, probiotics, stevia, and natural anti-fungals such as garlic and grape seed extract. It seems like some pretty good stuff. I will start it tomorrow.

Just thought I would let some of you, who may be curious about cleansing, know about this product.

Does seem funny to talk about - but "all" of our body is important huh? Interested if it makes you feel better, please let me know.

I wonder if these cleansers work any differently than products that you take before surgery, like GOlightly. Does anyone know?

Jean

Sorry, I don't know....

I just know this cleaner is full of good, healthy stuff that your insides really need!!!

Sara

Is Detox7 the kind of thing you need to "hang around the house" for if you're going to take it, if you catch my drift?

I'm curious....what's the difference btwn colon cleansers and your garden variety laxative. I mean I realize there's other stuff in the cleansers, but does your GI tract really have time to absorb or get any benefits from the extra stuff like stevia etc, if the cleanser part is "cleansing" if you catch my drift. It seems like the extra added stuff may just be some marketing way to get people to buy the products when you'd be just as well off buying prune juice.

I've always been curious about cleansing because I don't know the science behind it. I am regular thanks to my high fiber/whole grain diet and I don't know if something extra is really necessary in my situation. A lot of people swear by colon cleansing for a lot of reasons, but I have yet to be convinced.

There are much better things in detox 7 other than stevia. For example, the probiotics. I don't think this cleans you out right that second. You don't drink the stuff, take the vitamin, and go running to the bathroom. Your body has time to absorb what it needs. This stuff is full of anti-fungals, which is needed to clean fungus out of your body. Trust me, fungus IS in your body!

Also, my friend said she only "goes" once a day on this stuff....so far. Like I said, she is on day 4 so that might change, I don't know. I will let you know when I try it.

I'm not 100% certain on the whole idea behind colon clenasing, but I have been reading quite a bit about cleansing in general lately, so I have some information. I think one issue is compacted matter in the colon and intestines. Those who have always been regular with good diets probably don't have as much to worry about as those of us that have chronic issues in that department. Regardless, everybody probably has at least some hardened and/or compacted matter built up on the walls of our colons and intestines. Since we absorb so many nutrients through those organs, it's very important that they are "clean". The environment also needs to be "clean" in order for the appropriate bacteria to live and do their jobs. This all creates a much more healthy and regular system in the end.

So if we're looking to do a cleanse, I think the important thing is tomake sure it's something that would be appropriate to dissolve and or move what needs to be cleaned out. I don't even know exactly what products out there are best for that. I haven't made it that far in my reading! :)

Hope that helps some,

Sara

Sara,

I have been doing a lot of research on this topic. I can tell you some of the best products for cleaning and being healthy in general are pysllium, garilc, grape seed extract, probiotics, and anything that is an anti-fungal.

Hey, go to www.knowthecause.com. This is what I have been studying. (My mom has all the books. Great reading material!!!!)

Bill,

Women can have potty mouths too. Literally in this case. LOL.

Sara,

Let us know how things come out. I mean turn out after using it. LOL

The only thing that would concern me is the anti-fungal part. Our bodies do have bacteria and fungi, but how do you know only the bad will be removed?

Jean

Well, I don't know that, but probiotics are good bacteria that you should put in your body anyway. Detox 7 has probiotics. I don't think any fungi is good in or out of the body.

I just bought this stuff lastnight at walmart. I havent started it yet but wondered how it worked for anyone else that started it?

Anne, I will make a supper tonight of garlic bulbs and peppers...yum!!! (just kidding) Garlic is an anti-fungal. That is probably why it cleanses!

I am on the last day of this cleanse. Nothing "weird" came out of me. But, I did go through a herxheimer (sp?) reaction, which is what happens when the toxins in your body die. This reaction is different for everybody. For me, I was constipated until day 5. I have been fine since. My dh is doing this cleanse now. I am guessing a bunch of "things" will come out of him. He was on antibiotics often as a child and lived in a house where the basement leaked everytime it rained (in other words, the house is full of mold).

My friend is back to "normal" and feeling great! I don't know why I don't pass weird stuff that others do. My guess is that I did not take very many antibiotics as a child and I ate a lot of carrots. I took acidophilus (probiotic) along with a multi-vitamin also. (I was just telling my mom the other day that I actually ate most of the carrots she cut up for me. Sometimes, I would go outside and throw them in the bushes!)

I will let you know about dh. I think he is full of fungus right now. He just took an antibiotic and has developed a little spot of fungus on his little toe.

Let me know how this works for you as well. I figure that even though I am cleaner than what I expected, detox 7 is still full of healthy stuff that I need anyway. I will probably do this every other month or so.

Sara

Just in case anybody is interested (ha/ha) I tried the colon cleanse they show on TV constantly. I was in the bathroom for 3 days straight. They say that shouldn't happen - and I shouldn't have even tried since I was working those daysx( I may try the detox 7. What are some of the ingredients? Is it mainly herbal?

Pysllium, probiotics, garlic, grape seed extract, stevia, and a bunch of other stuff I can't pronounce...let alone spell :)

Look at the ingredients on the box. There is a package you mix with water and a vitamin.

Good luck!
