Going to Failure/ Extra Cardio

I started mesocycle 2 this week and found that if the rep patterns are 12, 10, 8, and then to failure, my failure reps usually end up at about 14 to 16 reps. Is this normal?

Also would it hurt to add an extra 20 to 30 minutes of light cardio or other non weight activity when I'm feeling stressed? My stress levels have been off the charts and the only thing that helps is either activity or ice cream :confused: and I really need to lay off the ice cream :eek:. Sound good? TIA.
 
I just finished meso 2 and looking back on my workout cards my failure reps early in meso 2 were about 14. Later in the meso the failure reps were more like 8-9, depending on the weight,exercise and of course muscle fatigue.
As far as cardio goes, I did Insanity cardio on non weight days. I took power walks on upper body weight days, about 30 minutes at a 13minute/mile pace. My advice is to try the light cardio and see how it goes..... ice cream is great but the results with STS are fantastic and you wouldn't want all your hard work to be hidden by ice cream!!
