Going dog-gone crazy!

Our bulldog passed away last year. We've since gotten a shelter dog (spitz-type breed) that my oldest DD campaigned for. We love her, but DH & I love bulldogs,too, and would like to get another, but... my DD is giving us such grief!!! "They're ugly... I'll hate it... I don't want another bulldog... blah, blah, blah." When I remind her that we got the beautiful shelter dog she fell in love with, and now we'd like to get a dog that DH loves, she just fumes. Should we NOT get this dog cuz of DD?? Or should we just go ahead and get what we want anyway? I mean, how much input should a 12-year-old have???

Is it going to be her dog? Is she going to take care of it? If not, then I'd say, Not much input. She got her dog, that should be that. As long as she knows that the bulldog is going to belong to you and DH, then why should she care?

I agree with you...if she doesn't have to take care of it it really shouldn't matter...And she's 12...everything is a big deal from what to wear to school to boys to how embarrassed she is of her parents!!

Do what YOU want...And good luck with the horomones over the next 4 years!!
