Gliding AKA Sliding

I read that inline skating was a good leg workout (my problem area) and since I'm chicken to try rollerblading, I thought "gliding" would be the next best thing. It looks like "sliding" that was popular several years ago.

I ordered these to try out - I'll let you know, anyone who's interested. I like the idea of not having to wear those silly booties used with sliding.

Any thoughts out there you'd like to share about gliding/sliding?
 
I'd be interested in hearing what you think. I like Mindy! Wasn't real fond of the booties either! Ha!

I have the discs, and several of the "instructor" workouts that were available from www.glidingpro.com . I like the workouts, and immediately thought of sliding when I was doing them. The core workout is quite challenging, and includes a gliding version of pikes.
