Gizmo's Picture Wins Award!

We already all know how cute Gizmo is, right? Well, the ASPCA had a photo contest so of course we had to enter a picture of Gizmo. They chose 10 winners. Gizmo was one of the 10 out of 4,000 entries! Now somehow he missed being in the top 3 and I'm sure it was just an oversight. :p But I'm pretty excited for him to be in the top 10 out of so many entries. So kudos to him for being so adorable and to DH for his excellent photography skills! Now if only he could have made me look so cute in my P90X before pics (which you won't see posted anywhere!).

That is so cool! I understand you on the top 3 thing, must have been an oversight. LOL! I told you your DH was good! Now he has a picture with an award to prove it.:)
 
That picture reminds me of the old "Our Gang" comedies ("Little Rascals to some of you") and their dog named "Pete." On the real Pete, such a pose would have been a special effect, however! What a talented pooch!
 
Nah, he didn't win a bone. But I'll be sure to give him one. :) We won a t-shirt and he will be "published" in their online newsletter.

Pete from Little Rascals was a Pit Bull too, for those who didn't know that.

awww! how could he NOT be in the top 10!!! he is so cute! I also love that picture with Amber - the one where she looks like she has her head tilted trying to soak in some sun... you guys catch the best moments! :)

Congrats to Suz and Gizmo .. I say he should have gotten FIRST place!

...have got to say I finally got my babies Christmas picture done .. I wish I would have had a video .. b/c it was a hoot..

I decided to get ALL three on the golf cart (their favorite thing to do .. ride the golf cart) .. Buster would not cooperate ..would not wear the reindeer ears I got him .. but did manage to put a Christmas scarf on him .. Toots was a camera hog .. wore the ears and a Christmas buff .. and the little one Sally .. wore a sant hat and Christmas buff..

One would look .. the other would bark .. two would pose one would try to get down .. Toots was getting mad b/c the other two were not cooperating and she wanted to get on with the ride .. LOL .. both of the girls would pose just fine .. Buster just wanted to eat the Santa hat .. LOl .. it was hysterical ..

after much work (and laughter) .. I got 2 almost perfect shots .. I will try to post them tomorrow .. one shows how Toots rides .. like a person upright w/her rear end sitting on the seat and feet on the drink holder .. too funny!! :7

anyway .. congrats on the contest ... Gizmo is one special dog!!
 
it is so awesome to see a success story like yours. i remember reading about gizmo's condition when you adopted him. he sure has come a long way!! every time i see a picture of gizmo, i get tears of happiness for him and for you. you can see the love, trust and happiness in his eyes. he is so lucky for having such a wonderful family to be a part of, and you are so lucky to have found such a cutie!! anyway, i just wanted to say that, and to say congratulations on the accomplishment. i would think that gizmo is the perfect posterchild for the ASPCA, and if he didn't win 1st place, i want to see the dog that did. i can't imagine a better picture than this.

Suz, he is adorable!! And photogenic! Agreed that he should have taken first. Who could resist that face?

Thanks for all the great comments you guys! Surely his heartbreaking story should have pushed him over the edge to the top 3. But he's got such a great life now and has brought so much joy to us. He's a winner in my book every day. Wow, that sounded really corny. :p

Love the picture! So satisfying to look at this picture and know the story, wasn't easy but well worth it. Well done on all accounts!
