Getting Stronger

First let me say that I love the slow and heavy series. I've been using it for a few months now and I can't beleive how my strength has increased. I knew I was getting stronger, but i didn't realize the extent of my gains.

The Hubby asked me to help him move an old sofa sleeper couch. He said we could just slide it out of the way because it was very heavy. I told him to let me trying lifting it, so I did. We then deceided to take it outside to get rid of it.

It was heavy but not awful. I was caring my end with little problem. We get it outside and he tells me he has to put his end down. So we put the couch down. He is red faced and winded. I smile and tell him he needs to start working out again. He blows it off and tells me that I had the light end.

We finsh moving it and go into the house. He is still breating heavy. I ask him to armwrestle. He looks at me like I'm nuts. I tell him I've been doing my tapes and I want to see where my strength is. He says ok and we start.

We are dead even for the first 15 seconds then his arm starts to shake. I start to push him down. And, then I start to feel bad. I let him slowy beat me. He rubs his arm and tells me if I work out a little harder it will be close. I'm ready to puke, but dont say anything.

It was so exciting for me. I feel strong and confident and I owe it all to Cathe.

Anybody else notice big strength gains?

Oh that was too cute! I can just hear my hubby telling me,"you had the light end" also! :)

Yes, S&H, and just basically resistance training with heavier weights period do great things for you overall!

And you know what the cutest thing is? We are always watching out for their psyche and not emasculating them! Now they don't think twice before giving us some condescending remark, but somehow, we usually rise above it and protect their little egos.
We really are the stronger sex! :)
