I have heard about Cathe videos for a while and this is my first time visiting and registering on the forum. My question is what video and videos should I start with and what equipment will I need.

Hi Sheena

Could you tell us what are goals? What types of exercise do you enjoy? what level you are at?

This way we can be of more help.

Personally I started with the Cross Train Xpress Series I was an experienced stepper intermediate to advanced and found the step work challenging.

I would recommend a barbell, dumbells and a step to start with depending on the exercise space available check the specs for both The Step and Reebok step there is a link to Walmart here which sell most of the equipment used in the new series. Check on Behind scenes of the new series on the homepage.

I am 4'11 and currently 70lb. overweight. I would one day like to be a lean 110lbs. I have lost weight before but never really stuck with anything long enough. I realize now that it is a lifestyle change that I have to make.

The equipment that I have is dumbells 2-12lbs., I have the firm barbell, 12in. fanny lifter, new fanny lifter and alot of firm tapes. I also have a wide step bench from when I did Cathy Smith tapes. But I noticed that I looks like Cathe using a more adjustable wide step.

I am not new to stepping b/c I have exercised on and off for the last 7 years and I have did firm tapes so I have used weights before.

I really want to achieve a body that looks similar to Cathe's.

HI Sheena

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you I would recommend using what you have Powermax and or Mega Step Blast and the Wedding video. Powermax/Mega Step because these are two of Cathe's easier tapes split in 3 sections you could do the warm up 1st section and cool down (the same with the wedding video) the Wedding video has a strength section to get you into lifting.

I would build on these to get you started with Cathe I would also recommend out of the new series Upper and Lower body and Cardio & weights which has some of Cathe's moves and because its in cycles with weights you could start off light and work up to heavier weights depending on how you respond to the workouts.

Not sure how much you want to spend but I would go for Wedding Tape because of the mix of cardio and weights. And then if you want to try working 1 part per week the easiest way to start IMO is CTX series start with doing it the way its designed and then adapt to your style.

Just my opinion, hopefully after reading this you will get some more suggestions
