getting rid of excess water

I know that my body in "chemopause" and I know water retention can be a problem during real menopause, but really, I have been retaining water like a camel inte Kalahari these past few days.

My fingers are really tight, my rings don't fit, and my feet are puffy and pudgy.

I've drunk my body weight in water about 10 times over because I know it's suppose to help "flush the extra water away", but it's not working!!

Short of going to the CVS and buying diuretics (which I don't want to do), what can I do?

I was so excited last Friday when I finally lost my last pound of weight gain from cancer treatment, and now the scale is giving me a "false reading" of weight gain. No one gains four pounds in three days, do they, unless it's water?

Thanks for the tips!

I'm assuming you've been checked for a heart problem/yourkidney lab work is normal, and you're healthy except for the water retention? That being said, I'm with ya! Its hormonal and diet it seems....what I've seen work for me is eliminating SUGAR of all things, and wheat thins (sob), not necessarily the Claussen pickles which are salty, but the junk stuff.....eating fruit and homemade yogurt, lots of veggies, the whole clean diet THANG, and it helps....

Susan, I don't have any recommendations that the first responder hasn't already said. BUT, I wanted to say congratulations on making it through cancer!

Thanks Kathy!!! - Today (9/11)is my one year anniversary of finding the lump in my breast?

A very sobering day today in more ways than one.

I actually have my heart monitored very regularly because of the Herceptin I take. I get echocardiograms every three months.

Since I've been counting WW points, my diet seems to have cleaned itself up pretty well on its own. Which is not to say I don't enjoy a pretezel or a piece of chocolate once in awhile! ;)

I have heard asparagus works. Also the green tea as already suggested.

I found this summer when my legs "bloated" up (seriously, my calves would gain 1 1/2 inches while I was at work ;( ) I would make sure I had a really good workout with loads of sweat, then would hit the hot tub for a half an hour or so.

All the sweating helped me, but it was a daily process until my body and the heat decided to subside.

Hope you find something to help . . .

Is it TTOM possibly?
