Getting Reading for P90x-Need suggestions on equip

Good Morning,
I started to look all over the web for some equipment I need for P90x, then it dawned on me to just ask on the Cathe.com site since there are so many knowledgeable people here.

For my TurboJam workouts, I have been loooking for weighted handgloves like they use, but I can't find them anywhere. Has anyone had luck finding them in a store? If not, did you get them from Beachbody.com? I am just looking for 1 lb weights.

For P90x, I am in search of a good chin-up bar. Do you have any suggestions?

I am excited to get these workouts, but knowing their cutomer service, I may have to wait a while.

One more thing...for those of you who did P90x, does it have to be followed exact (ex: 6 days/week)? The reason I am asking is because my DH FINALLY showed interest in an exercise program, and asked me if HE could buy it. I know it is very hard, and he will have to work up to it. Well, we had a little arguement lastnight about how to do the program. He thinks he will get results just by doing it about 3-4 times a week, and I said he has to follow the program exact. Is he right?

Thanks!

I don't have suggestions for the weighted gloves but you can buy a chin up bar at any sporting goods store.

As for following the program, your DH will get maximum results following the program but any exercise is better than no exercise. Don't discourage him from doing it how he wants.

I agree with John's Wife. Let him do what he wants at first. You may be surprised. I think he'll see the benefits of the program and do it more often, but if not, then as stated before - any exercise is better than no exercise.

You can get the weighted gloves at beachbody.com. Those are the ones I have. Here is the link:

I also saw some at Dick's Sporting Goods, but I did not like the way they felt on me. They were a bit too big and they shifted when I moved. I have pretty small hands, so if you are a bit bigger than I am, they may work and you don't have to deal with beachbody. However, if you are like me, you get distracted by all the cute workout clothes in Dick's and end up with a lot more than you went there for!

They also have chin up bars at Dick's. They are the ones that fit up over the door frame. I have never used one of those, so I am not sure if they are any good or not.

I don't know the first thing about P90x, so I'll just leave it at that!
