getting back in shape

I am trying real hard to get back into things, I pulled out Imax 2 this morning and I can't seem to get more than 15 minutes into it, my chest burns from the exertion, how long do you think I should workout till I get back into great lung condition and the rest of me back into it? I am so seriously wanting to get back into shape
 
Give it time. I felt like that after my surgery.
15 lb weights were heavy when i was previously using 25's.
20 on squats killed me at 1st.In a months time i was back to almost normal. 2 months and back except abs are really burning still.I was cut there though.
It is getting better.
Go with lomax on a 4 in platform. It is less impact and work it back up.
You will be fine. Don't get discouraged. I know i felt like that.

Imax 2 (or any of the Imaxes) is NOT a good choice for "getting back into things." It will be easier on your body, and more motivating, actually, if you choose a workout that was a bit 'too easy' before, then modify up as needed. I have a couple of Leslie Sansone workouts (Walk and Kick and Walk and Jog) that were just perfect for 'getting back into things' after an exercise dry spell. I was able to add some intensity (jumps instead of side steps, bigger ROM), which made me feel accomplished, rather than having to modify down a more intense workout, which would have made me feel like I was a slouch.
 
LOL I gave up on that one and pulled out my Gunner Peteron AB asualt and did my abs and feel so good right now!! I think I will go ride a bike for half an hour thanks all, I am hoping to get back into full shape one day
 
IMAX 2?? LOL What were you thinking???

I did Circuit Max yesterday, modifying some of the high impact jumps, and that was not too bad. Try SJP or something for pete's sake....;)
