Good morning everyone!

I am from Germany and I live in Texas since 4 1/2 years. Is there anybody from Germany on this forum, who loves Cathe as well?
I would like to hear from you.

You all have a great day
Kristine

I'm not German (I teach French), but Cathe is! Go say hi (or "guten tag") to her in the "ask Cathe" forum!

Guten Tag, Kristine! I'm not from Germany either, but my parents are from Wiesbaden and my father's side of the family is still over there. I'd been over several times as a child and spent my Junior Year Abroad in Heidelberg (where I happened to meet my American husband!). Before having my first child 12 years ago, I taught high school German. I now volunteer in my children's school, teaching once a week.

I took my 12-yr-old over this summer, staying in Darmstadt, Oestrich (im Reingau) and Rottweil with relatives and friends.

I LOVE Germany and wish my husband would get transferred there for a few years! Where are you from?

Hi there Kritine!! I'm not German either but I lived in Mannheim for a year 10 years ago and loved it. Mannheim being about 10 miles away from Heidelberg...what a pretty little town that is. I keep promising hubby that I'll take him to Heidelberg one Christmas for the Weinachtsmart.

I'd love to live over there again. I enjoyed every moment...except Saturday afternoons when the shops were shut! Does that still happen?

Guten Morgen Susan!

This is great! I am from Munich, well actually 40 km away from Munich.
I met my American husband in Germany, when he was working over there. He stayed in the hotel there I worked at, so he decided to take me back home with him :)

I sure miss Germany sometimes, but I get to go back every year for Christmas to visit my parents.

I hope you have a great day
Kristine

Good morning!

Well, I think they extended the hours on Saturday, but Sunday they still close all day. Most of Germany is Cathlic and that's why they don't open the stores on Sundays. But they sure improved the hours, but no way you can compare it to here :)

Have a great day
Kristine

Guten Morgen Kristine,

this is funny, I am from Munich, too. I moved to Arizona 8.5 years ago. I met my husband at work, I worked at the German subsidiary, he came over to meet some German customers.

How do you like it in the US? I LOVE it, I couldn't live in Germany anymore (Munich is pretty nice though). I haven't been back for over 7 years, I bet it has changed. My parents like Arizona, so they come to visit as much as they can.

And you sure won't find any Cathe dvds in Germany. I guess that is the reason why I moved to the US :) :+

Email me anytime, when you feel like chatting in German.

Take care,

Carola
