General: Seltzer water VS soda

I have seen several threads about how drinking soda (regular or diet) is not good for you. I don't drink much soda, but I do drink a lot of seltzer water. Is the carbonation bad for you? I was thinking that it is all of the other things in soda that make it bad for you, but I am not sure of the role of carbonation in it. Any opinions?

No, carbonation is not bad for you. It's just carbon dioxide added to water. Keep up the good work with the seltzer. It's better than soda. I used to drink seltzer a lot with lemon when I was working in the service industry.

I was drinking Perrier all of the time and the doctor told me any carbination is bad for you. It affects bone loss and osteoporosis.

That is true Diane Sue! duh, I forgot about that. :) Phosphoric acid depletes calcium in bones. Perrier does contains calcium, so it's not all bad. I wouldn't drink gobs of it, but I don't think a couple would hurt you.

Yes, I still drink it once in awhile. I like to put an ounce or two of juice in it for extra flavor.
